How often do you ACTUALLY play smash?

I've been wondering this for a while.

Lots of people here including myself don't seem to play smash that often really.

Id say on a monthly or bimonthly basis.

There is a yearly tournament here I always enter,but apart from that,I don't play at all really anymore.

It makes me sad that no one wants to play with me.....

I'd say about six-to-ten hours a month tops for the past nine-or-so years.

I would have to check to see how much I've actually played though.

I play it a little bit every 4 - 6 months.

A big change from Melee when I played all of the time. I don't know Brawl kind of killed it for me.

I play if there is nothing else I want to do and I'm just bored. I'm pretty tired of it though.

If I have a bunch of friends over its fun cuz we make a joke of it while we play. Everything is hilarious with friends.

So probably like, a couple times every couple of months.

during school I only played melee twice a month....once for a smashfest and the other time for a monthly.

now that summers here i've been able to play brawl a few times a week and a bit of melee here and there.

I havent played for half a year since i was with some of my friends. My tv burned out with a bunch of other things to make up a crappy college year lol. playing computers was never really that fun. Also most of the smash gatherings are way out in houston and dallas and with out any reliable transportation i cant get out there.
I love melee but without people to play with I just watch vids lol

I play Melee at tournaments 2-3 times per month. That's about it.

I doubt there is a single person that plays Melee more than me.

I get out of work at 6 and play until I go to bed at midnight.

On weekends, I play from the time I wake up 9 AM or so, until I go to bed usually like 1-2 AM. Of course breaks here and there for like an hour or so, but it's pretty ridiculous how much I play.

I play a lot because I'm very technically inconsistent, so I feel I need to practice a lot.

My college also has Smashfests every Tuesday which is mad fun

Aside from a sorry tournament that made me see how much I hate Brawl and playing the BBrawl and Brawl+ mods for a little bit, I have not touched played the games since I got Street Fighter IV. I'd probably play Melee, but it'd probably take too much time to catch up and then there's the matter of finding Melee players.

The original reason most people came here was to probably learn and get better at the game.Which I did for quite some time.My 1st year and a half here were pretty much spent learning as much about melee as I could.(and then a little brawl)

Now it seems more so just a favourite place to "cyber-socialise".

Id describe smashboards as my internet "home"

I am an active practicer, but havent played against many people for a while (Last tournament was, what...3 months ago, had a friend over for a few hours a month later) so i just go techskill and combos with 4 chars for 1-2 hours a day, 4 days a week, 15-30 mins per char.

Same here. I came for the smash, stayed for the rest.

Nobody around me plays anymore, so I only play very rarely now (maybe once every few months, if that). I used to play hardcore for the first few years I was here, though, and Melee will always remain one of my favorite games of all time. I'm always down to play whenever, whereever, but the problem is I can never find anybody who wants to play. And when I do find someone, it's usually a casual non-smasher (ie, somebody who just finds the game to be fun but never took it to a technical or competitive level), I destroy them and they don't want to play anymore I'm not even that great by SWF standards (though I'd say I'm 'good' or 'pretty good'), but 95% of the population is way below that, which sucks.

I played melee at least once a week since it first came out for years. At one point around 05 I stopped for a long time, then I discovered competitive melee existed, and I've been playing at least once a week ever since.

I find it funny how a lot of the people posting hardly play it lol

Never, in fact, said to say, my Wii is collecting dust ever since PS3 and soon, XBOX360, on top of my ottoman, guns blazin. I did play my 1st tourney a couple months ago and actually won with Snake. I was suprised as all of you probably are. I think hyping Brawl was actually more fun than playing it o.0
