Whats the point of the short hop lazer if it misses characters like Mario or shorter characters or am I just doing something wrong?

You're doing it wrong.
Laser on the way down, not on the way up or at the peak.

I can hit once with it but I thought you could hit twice I'm doing it when falling now thanks but if I go for a second shot it does it when I'm grounded. Is this supposed to be used where it only hits once if they stay grounded the whole time but if they jump it hits them?

That answers it I thought the tech made 2 lazers hit a grounded opponent but only 1 hits the short hop is just to remove lag and hit if they jump

there isn't a legit list, it's pretty self explanatory as to who it works on.

obviously characters with more than 2 jumps or in robs case can basically fly aren't shine spikable but characters with straight projectery recovery (Ex] wolf, falco, lucario, fox) are the easiest

pretty much everyone but:
Yoshi (SA frames **** you)
DDD
MK
Snake (to a lesser extent still works in most cases)
ROB
Kirby (shine twice and he's done)
Jiggs
Pit

and everyone else is possible

so, short-hop lasering...

Is there any advice in technique that anyone can give me concerning effectively doing it (specifically a series of shots where Fox will continue to face the enemy while moving backward)?

My case is, I'll SH, move the joystick back to try to cover some area, and flick forward again to ready the neutralB for a shot.

However, I either accomplish it while hardly having moved backwards at all, or held backwards too long so when I aim forward again, it hits too close with B and I illusion.

Advice please. thanks (with no frame of reference, I apologize for any noobness this question makes apparent)

You B-reversal a laser, then buffer a dash as you're about to land. Repeat.

im the only fox main who uses dtilt, so generalizing i would say no.

learn when to use it, learn set ups into tipping it, once you master hitting it tipped it's a better, more unpredictable utilt

Dtilt sucks; it's like a worse version of a Dsmash frametrap with terrible knockback trajectory. Not saying you should never use it, but you usually have so many better options...

you cant combo from d-smash though, when you can combo from d-tilt sometimes.

You guys DO realize that Dsmash has a sweetspot that sends your opponent at a very low angle and often kills them. It's basically 90% of his foot.

The best way is to DI and momentum cancel. If you can do the shine reverse well and consistently, then sure. Otherwise, you're wasting time. (I can get it about 30% of the time, and I have no trouble doing most Melee Fox techs, in case you're looking for a frame of reference. I don't practice, though.)

Can anyone help me out on the Ike match up? I think I'm just being to predictable and letting him punish me, but any specific thoughts on it?

space well and if he's in the air run the **** away.

laser him and be very unpredictable when recovering.

auto cancelled fair is good but if you miss it, retreat while in the air or else it's an ike fair to the face.

Jump shine dash cancels are **** mind games if they fall for it and attack punish it

if he's off stage theres no reason why he shouldn't lose a stock.

basically don't be predictable and don't be near him if he's in the air.

it's tricky but you have a few options

RAR a Nair so it's positioned behind him to avoid the hitbox
Shine
any smash when he hovers for a few frames at the top of the ledge
Dair
Bair
Edgehog

basically abuse the fact you know it's coming and get into an attacking position for he's able to aether

nearly doubles his second jump height and the attack covers his rise, protecting him from most attacks

I tried it, and he did rise a bit higher than usual, but it wasn't particularly significant (definitely not doubled). The hitbox thing is nice though.

You're not doing it right, then. DarkAura is wrong to say that it's doubled, but you're also wrong in saying that it's not significant. You get a very big boost (it's more noticeable on Fox's first jump than on the second, but it's difficult to miss the difference on either.)

I'd place it on no because Falcon's UpB is a grab and grabs usually beat out all moves but disjointed ones~

Though it really depends on where Falcon and Fox are and when you are DAiring.
wow, im ********, i though he said falco's up-b. with falcon its more about exact placement.

Basically, don't touch Falcon's front body or his hand. You can Dair through the rest.
