How did you find out smashboards existed? Did a friend tell you or did you find it accidentally? Mine is a semi long story. One day when I was looking up wikis I happened to find smash bros wiki. I then started looking up kirby information. I then heard of this video so I clicked to read about it. I saw the link to youtube so I watched it. It appears the video was about teir lists. I didnt happen to know what it was at the time so I searched it up(and I still think the list is total BS). I found out there was a list posted up here so I clicked on the link and I figured I wanted to comment on the list so I joined....... I couldnt find the list so I figured Id hang out here a while

I googled Super Smash Bros. Melee in December of 2005 and came across this site. I wanted to know for sure if the Sonic/Tails thing was an urban myth along with any other game secrets such as hidden trophes/stages..etc.

When I saw Smashboards it was amazing to see how many people were fans of the game and how they talked about strategies, characters, stages..etc. I made my account in December 2005 and then forgot all about it until I googled Smash Bros. Melee again in December 2007 and made my first post. I'm suprised I remembered my password and username then.

It's jumping and immediately air-dodging into the ground at different angles. In Melee of course.

I think it was about a year before Brawl when I stumbled here Googling for hints about Melee's epic sequel . I don't think I came back until like September last year, and I would check back to look at the Sheik and Marth boards every so often.

I'm not sure why I didn't become a member sooner......


Wow.... this thread sent a flood of memories coming back. I remember searching through page after page on every search engine I found looking for Brawl stuff (back before it came back, and everyone was making guesses at what it would be called).

Way back in 05 or so, I found out about wavedashing in this Nintendo Power article and they advertised this site. They even talked about Gideon.

But I didn't join cause I didn't have a computer lol, until 06 when I wanted to host a tourney. XDDDD oh man.

My friend was looking for ways to get better with Snake when Brawl first came out, and he ended up here. I began poking around for tips with Marth and Zelda, and was impressed by the wealth of info here. Joined after lurking anonymously for a while, and then pretty much lurked for a while longer. I didn't post for a while because at that point there was a fair bit of hostility towards '08ers, but eventually I started in mundane threads about favorite stages and other stuff that didn't require knowledge to talk about. And now, here I am.

Wavelanding is in Brawl, it's just really bad. Wavelanding is just a wavedash, except not immediately (it's used while falling). So if you are falling in a direction other than straight down in brawl, you can do it.

To be on topic, my friend told me about wavedashing and stuff and gave me this site so we could get better.

I was on some zelda fansite when I was about twelve and read some guys fanfiction, I thought he was really good but he never updated one of his stories. I emailed him asking him if he ever wrote more, and he linked me to this website where he had posted it. I read the story, and mainly stayed in the Creative Minds room, before branching out to the pool room and eventually debate hall/light house, though I voided myself from the Light House. Started posting in the Forum Games when Drab made the first SWF mafia

It's actually only coincidence that I own Melee and go here. I only play it as a party game, and the only tourny I went to was when a bunch of Broomers (the social ones, not the melee back room) met up in Dallas (close to where I live). I lost every match

I could have sworn I first found this forum back in 2001 or 2002, but I'm not sure. That was sooo long ago. More than likely I found it through some search engine searching for "Super Smash Bros." and I saw "Hey, look a forum! Cool, I should like totally join!"

Actually I probably was viewing this site before I joined it. My mom didn't let me join forums until like March of 2003.

I clicked,registered and learned everything about Sheik,Marth and Falco.
