Well, to me, going from ssb64 Fox to Melee Fox almost seems like a natural progression. I think HAL did good if what you say is true.

There's no major face structure changes, it just looks like there's some tuning here and there (more polygons allows more roundness), and better textures. In Brawl, it's just like what.

You can't replace that file for Melee SFX with the Hackless version, right? I would kill for some Melee skins. Everyone looks so ****ing ugly except the more cartoonish characters (like the Pokemon and Toon Link).
You have to do it through the Riivolution homebrew app, to be able to read the .brsar file. =|

Also, you guys think Fox's change was bad. I say Ganondorf's change was bad, he just feels so stale and rusty in Brawl. Melee Ganon was smexy.

Ganondorf's rendition in Brawl is due to his design in Twilight Princess. Zelda and Link have the same Twilight Princess rendition.

Who cares why it looks bad? It still looks bad. >_>

I'm with you on this one, Niko. The only good change was the Leonidas kick.

Don't get me started on how much Link's voice sucks in Brawl...
Again, that's because of TP. I used to hate it too, but that was before I even played TP (I played Brawl before TP). But after playing TP (and liking it a lot), I don't mind his voice anymore.

I think a legitimate WTF voice change is Diddy Kong. They decided to make him sound like a real monkey despite him having a unique voice all throughout the games he's been in.

False. Brawl's textures physically hurt me. My eyes once started bleeding like Le Chiffre from Casino Royale after playing Brawl for too long.

Believe it or not, Brawl Fox is exactly what Nintendo wanted Fox to look like. When HAL made Melee, all they had as a basis for Fox was the triangle-headed Star Fox 64 Fox, so they took their own direction with his design by making him look like a realistic fox. However, Nintendo gave Fox a more permanent design in Star Fox Command, complete with concept art and everything. This became the basis for all future iterations of Fox.

To be fair, Yoshi looks like a piece of crap in Melee, lol.

yeah but no one gives a **** about yoshi

and it's depressing to know melee/star fox 64 fox's design will never make a comeback. It's definitely the sickest iteration of fox.

yea but what about Gdorf...
Yea I really hate Ganondorf too, Oot Ganon managed to make him look ugly but still badass where TP... he was just ugly. I don't think all the brawl textures are ugly like everyone else though I think most of them are. I actually like Falco's skins in brawl.

I don't mind ganon in brawl as I'm a LoZ fan. All their voices just sound badass to me

Fox's look in SSBB is terrible... Should've known how disappointing the game would've been JUST from that foreshadowing. Not too fond of Granny Ganon either.
I doubt there'll be actual texture editing and such for Project M, but after they get all the physics and such down, touching on the audio would certainly be really appreciated.

This. Is it any wonder the most Melee-esque character is the most broke in the game?

play melee.
Considering that melee is likely the cause of said erection, you may want to reconsider.

Been done for a while. Not officially part of the P:M package because...well we're just not gonna force textures onto people (with the exception of team colors for Sonic, Lucario, and the Pokemon). People can get their own textures

Melee hit sfx

(sound effects require Riivolution, and thus, homebrew channel.)

You know, you can have your Melee Fox in your P:M too, if you throw in one of the below "textures" that is on brawl vault.

Definitely makes Fox a lot more awesome looking and helps give that Melee-feel a bit of an extra push if you're put off by Bawrl model. ;)

IMO, the second Fox with the Melee head + Brawl body and textures is how Fox should have looked in Bawrl. Also, yes there's a Melee Ganondorf model on there as well as a Melee Falco if you guys want your favorite Smash character designs for the more prominently used characters in P:M.

Although, Melee textures don't seem to look that great with Brawl's lighting. :(

I know nothing about brawl mods, but you don't think there will be another mod for just this purpose?

Also, I don't know if this has already been mentioned, but how do you all think the Full release of P:M will affect the ssbm commmunity? or how do you think competitive P:M will evolve?

for myself, while I love the idea of P:M to play with friends and such, I can't really imagine immersing myself into it the way i have ssbm...

If I were in the PMBR, and I got a C&D order, or any kind of legal document sent my way to the effect of asking me to stop, I'd send a very polite letter saying that the project actually increases profitability by giving players who never bought a Wii or Brawl a reason to do so now, and if they want me to stop essentially creating a Nintendo game for free, that's their call, but in their own interest, they should seriously reconsider.

But I'm not in the PMBR, and there have to be at least one or two reasonably intelligent people at Nintendo's legal/financial departments who have figured that out already.
There is a plethora of other reasons that a company could have for taking legal action against a project like this. Not all companies solely care about their bottom line, or at least, there are factors here that you may not understand about them. I'm not saying Nintendo will retaliate, but rather this is a overly simplistic view of a complicated issue.

still a virgin?
well.....

nah melee will solve that too.
I lost my virginity to someone I met playing Smash 64.

They will often do it if they feel their IP is being misrepresented, however in this case it is not. They are merely altering game mechanics.

If they added soundbites where Mario was advocating dropping out of school and selling drugs to underaged minority infant harp-seals, they would probably start litigating in short order.

However since the only thing Project M can do in its current form is drive Brawl up sales, it's golden. Especially since it's gotten some minor media coverage. Brawl's production is well paid-for at this point, each new copy sold is pure profit for Nintendo. They like this story.

I didn't know Chu played 64.

As far as lawsuit goes: As long as we're not including anything that is a threat to sales, we should be safe under fair use and whatever else. Nothing that the PMBR endorses hurts Nintendo in any way, shape, or form.

I completely agree, but it's up to Nintendo to decide whether or not they feel their IP and brand identity are misrepresented. While I don't know whether or not Nintendo is anal about this sort of thing, reducing the complexity of this issue to just a top line sales argument just seems bit naive.
