No, I am not making this up.

Jean-Pierre Treiber, 45, broke out of jail using nothing but a cardboard box. Treiber has been in prison awaiting trial since 2004, charged with murdering French actor Roland Giraud's daughter Geraldine, and her friend Katia Lherbier.

If this isn't discussion-worthy news, I don't know what is.

Once again, the French prove how much they suck.

Letting a DEADLY criminal, escape with a CARDBOARD BOX. wow.

If the french suck would that also include canadians? :chuckle:
Only Quebec.

Also, while it's an awesome story, I hope they catch this guy and never let him escape again. Put him on trial. If he's found guilty, then lock him up forever. He killed two people, and no amount of manliness in his escape methods can make up for it or bring them back.

/no fun

I feel like an appropriate reward for his escapade is however much free time he gets before they catch him again.

He does need to be brought to justice at some point though.

He made it in the Prison Workshop

managed to elude detection in the box he had built himself at a workshop in the high security prison of Auxerre, Burgundy.

What a guy...

It's humorous to see that stories like this could happen in real life. I mean he is an evil murderer, but manly prison breaks just have to be admired.

Whether he gets caught again or not... won't change the fact that he did it.

It's because this guy wasn't guarding Snake's cell.

*Wonders what liquid ocelot had to do with this*

I wonder what box he was using. Manly people would use a fed ex box...... but girly people would use an xbox three sixty box(and yes I wrote 360 down in words)

I amazed that a Frenchie pulled this of. I was expecting a Russian but, I guess Frenchie gaurds make up for the fact that a Frenchie could excape.

What's with the French hate?

You guys realized we admired them, not until they lost in WWII (the Marquis were VERY courageous), up until relatively recently, the French foreign legion was where movie-makers went for action heroes and we generally had a good impression of the French in terms of courage and manliness.

That is until the French decided that they were gonna play nice with the Russians in the Cold War, in America that was unpopular, so we started portraying them as cowards, even though it made political sense. This view was expanded when they opposed us in Iraq.

This escape was maddd manly, and I don't think bad guards had anything to do with it, it was just too good.
