Seems getting headshots with the DMR is really easy in this game. I'd say 90% of the time I kill people with it, it's a headshot. Also, how many shots does it take to the chest to kill someone with the DMR?

Sounds about right. It takes so long to kill people with it if you don't get headshots....you're almost guaranteed a death if you don't.

I'm finding this game pretty difficult now that people know the just of things, but that's good because now it's actually a challenge. I've also noticed that with the increased grenade damage, it's almost essential that you throw them accurately to maximize your chance of killing someone. I get killed by them so much.

Lmfao, I have been *****ing about that so much lately. It takes a whole clip into someone's head to just barely kill them with that thing. Usually, I'll find another guy and we'll both shoot/melee each other and whoever gets the fastest headshot after that wins. It's really annoying.

Jorge>Jun>Carter>Kat>Emile as partners.

Jorge is huge I use him as a shield and he mows covenant down.
Jun takes nice shots with his decent damage Sniper Rifle.
Carter uses a DMR so his mid range is good.
Kat is ok does her job..
Emile with his shotgun trying to fight mid to long range is annoying.

The AI is really useful when you're doing legendary, I pretty much let Kat handle the Hunters while I took pot shots from afar. Though her driving sucks.. Thought Bungie said they did better with the driving AI?

Plasma Pistol + DMR is godly. I'm actually beating some levels quicker on Legendary than when I did it in Heroic the first time around. I'm sort of afraid of the falcon level where all the banshees shoot the hell out of you

Apart from that, Warrant Officer Grade 1 feels good.

I too had trouble with Kat driving... I mean... She IS... well... >_> Nevermind. Fill in the blanks.

At one point in my Legendary playthrough, where Kat is your partner, she drove... So she decides to drive INTO a Ghost... kills me. >_> Round 2. I decide to get out and drive. As I jump out, she decides driving in donuts is a great idea and runs me over. >_< Round 3. Get out of gunner (checkpointed on it), and evade Kat so I can drive. She gets into gunner. I drive to the valley with the two Ghosts, bail, and let the warthog roll forward so she can shoot them. She proceeds to shoot for about 5 seconds before the 'Hog explodes... then runs BACK to the two buildings we were just at and STANDS there like a tool... Worst... Partner... EVER... I even apologized to my wife because I was swearing up a storm. @_@ I try not to do that in front of her out of respect, but god **** that Kat was pissin' me off!

You make it sound easy. I haven't even touched the campaign yet, but I've heard legendary is ridiculous. What makes it so hard, anyways? I'm naturally bad at halo games, so I don't know the specifics.

@banjo: ehh, only thing I don't like is how the elites strafe like crazy. And once you manage to headshot one (using a sniper) it doesn't even kill them, let alone not drop their shields all the way.

Hmm two more levels on Legendary to go.. Some trouble like Hero Brutes with Fuel rod guns.. But after lots of trial and error it is done.

Really, some parts are being beaten faster than when I did it on Heroic.

Elites are done with Plasma Pistol + DMR/Pistol to the head
Brutes typically are gone with ~4 shots to the head by DMR/Pistol. Or if you have access to a Needle Rifle, just super combine them and they're done.
Hunters are still hard though.

Not looking forward to the last mission.

Finished the campaign on Legendary early this morning and got six achievements in one for 360G. Hah hah!

It's not really any one thing in Legendary that makes it hard, it's a combination of insanely damaging enemies coupled with the abusive number of them. Plasma Pistol + DMR combo is brilliant against Elites, but then I often either run out of ammo or have trouble against other members of the Covenant, like Brutes (since trying to successfully headshot one three times every time really drains your ammo reserves). Hunters are an absolute nightmare because they will kill you in a single hit from either melée or Fuel Rod. I just ran past the two pairs you meet on the last level because I really did not want to face them.

Also, the last segment of the second last mission is ridiculously hard. Apparently hitting any part of an invincible

My arena score was just over 1700 lastnight, it reset this morning and now it's around the 1650 mark.

The DMR and Covenant Carbine thing are unfair together.

I think if you were in anyway good at 3 this game is a breeze.

I solo'd Legendary Campaign today. Scored 5 achievements from playing that level. I got 46 out of 49 achievements. Just need to get Skunked, become a major, and buy something that requires the rank of Lt. Colonel.

If you're talking about the pair in the courtyard full of containers, you can smash the glass and jump through the window. Definitely sequence breaking, though - the enemies inside the room after didn't spawn until Emile respawned inside.

Haha I'll definitely do that. I been taking shortcuts, like in Tip of the Spear, just taking pot shots with vehicles into the AA gun to kill the core thing instead of going inside myself.

The 4 hunters in that night club I just sprinted past all of them.

I'm pleased to say that this game has risen above my personal expectations... At least the multiplayer at least.

Once you have the maps, gametypes, and abilities down, the game becomes amazingly fun.
