Yeah it does get rather frustrating. Especially since I haven't played like any Halo since 08 I jumped straight into Heroic... My hand hurts man..

Listening to you guys bemoaning the difficulty makes me feel terrified that I play too much.

So! I decided to start off straight onto Legendary to get used to it quicker, though I can only do the missions my brother's already done on Normal because he is adamant that he be the first to complete each mission and see the story. Yes, I did mention he can just do them again using Mission Select, but apparently that still ruins the story.

Anyway, it's not too bad so far. I did get some incredibly irritating problems where I get outgunned by a Plasma Pistol-wielding Grunt while holding a Concussion Rifle, but nothing too rage-inducing. Yet. I dread the later levels where they'll just start zerg rushing you instead.

Also, Hologram in multiplayer is so hilarious and quite useful at times. I was disabling the shields as a Spartan on Spire and saw an enemy in the tracker, sent a hologram running off the platform and managed to assassinate the poor sod when he tried to give chase to it. It's still really easy to tell the difference by looking at the nametag, though.

Let their voices be unheard: Halo: Reach has an auto-mute feature

http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/15/halo-reach-has-an-auto-mute-feature/

Bungie's Tyson Green (using the pseudonym "Ferrex") recently informed Ars Technica that Reach has a rather democratic auto-mute feature, which "notices, warns, and eventually defaults players to being muted when they enter games, if they are muted by enough people over a period of time." So, remain ever vigilant in the face of stupidity, dear friends.
More games should have this feature.

Halo: Reach co-op requires hard drive, 4GB Xbox 360 Slims have to go solo

http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/15/halo-reach-co-op-requires-hard-drive-4gb-xbox-360-slims-have-t/

...sucks for people who own the 4G Slim models.
I heard about that, but they also stated that they're working to resolve this, and I believe them when they say that unlike a certain one man army patch.

I was playing campaign with a friend and it was really laggy anyways. I'm not interested in playing the campaign right now, seeing as the multiplayer is so much fun. So far the only thing I'm not a fan of is the hologram/active camo. Which one makes like a million red dots appear on the radar? That's so annoying.

LOVE THE STARCRAFT REFERENCE! :)

Also the Hologram is such an amazing mind game if you don't use it so much. Like I had a DMR and the Rocket. I put my Hologram right around the corner. Waited for a bit then I see this guy charge at him trying to beat it down and as soon as I seen him attack it I blasted the rocket. It was so epic!

I had at least one funny/epic moment with each of the armor abilities.

Hologram: See above.

Jet Pack: Usually I never us the jet pack. But I just wanted to be stupid ******** with it. I pretty much came down on a unsuspecting opponent and falling beat down.

Armor Lock: Hilarious! My fave. Okay I was on Paradise and it was Big Team Slayer. So there are all sorts of vehicles. So I see a Tank coming from over the hill and immediately put on the lock. He tries to run my over (Idk either lmao). So I release the lock and it stuns the Tank and I highjacked and plasma'ed the driver.

Sprint: Funniest in Swat. Just plucking heads and running all around the stage.

Camo: I kid you not. I got 3 cut scene assassinations in a row by using it and couching all around people.

Evade: Usually in Elite Slayer. I always choose Zealot and the evade ability is amazing! Some guy backing up trying to kill me off with that Needle Rifle while I had the sword. And I used evade both times to get near him and got him point blank with it.

This game is so tactical I swear! I love it!

Why don't you EVER talk? D:

Campaign

as balls
Microsoft banned me from having voice functions. I talk too much ****.

jk

But I do talk too much ****. I don't have a mic. I'm getting one next week.

We'll see. I'll believe it when I see it.

It's to balance it out for you and your enemies. At least it's beneficial unlike scrambler in MW2.

Yeah, we'll have to see what happens.

I don't often get confused by the holograms, but when my radar goes crazy like that I start to panic.

Womenz >>> Videogames.

Spend some time with her. :)

sux2bu. I've heard the campaign on legendary is ridiculous. Is 2 people the max you can play with in campaign?

I dunno. I did it and I got my challenge. I also did all of the daily challenges, finally got my Grenadier helmet :D

And I just recently learned how to use the DMR correctly. I thought I was waiting enough for the bloom to go down but apparently not. If you wait for it to go all the way down to the narrowest gun fights are SO much easier -.-

My favorite thing to do right now is go into Big Team Battles, ones with vehicles, use armor lock. And since EVERYONE tried to ram you.. Armor Lock and they smash into you and die, great for laughs.

Halo: Reach grabs $200 million day one

http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/15/halo-reach-grabs-200-million-day-one/

Microsoft Game Studios VP Phil Spencer just announced at the company's TGS press conference that Halo: Reach made $200 million on its first day at retail. We know that's not much of stretch for you all to imagine, but it seemed like an important factoid to grasp. Assuming all those copies were sold at the $60 MSRP, that's about 3.3 million units.

That upsets me...

How's everyone else enjoying the game?
Great, though I think my eye may be irritated because of this game. It probably couldn't stand to see me getting killed so many **** times on solo Campaign on Legendary difficulty.

There's still 4 days and some hours, so I should be able to finish Legendary Campaign by myself before the weekly challenge is over. I should get at least 4 achievements just by doing this. I should get the 2 Legendary Campaign achievements and the Campaign on Heroic achievement, plus the weekly challenge achievement. That's about 335 gamerscore points right there.

Rofl Sword Spree
My friends Zac, Padraig and Derek were on a team who won a celebrity launch party for Reach.

So you do get the 5000cr if you complete it on legendary?

I'm only playing the MP and FF mode in Reach right now cause everyone is bad/a noob at the game. Campaign is last on my "to do list" for Reach atm.

And I see they got rid of numbers for your levels now in MP? Can you ever go down in rank or is it like CoD4/MW2 where all you can do is up?

Seems like you can only go up.

Assassination is done by holding the RB, but I think it's based on a couple of things (both in the air, not, RIGHT behind them, at the side, etc. lag maybe).

I freaking love this game. Didn't know you got it F8AL. :D We gotta play.

Lame...they reward you for losing. I much prefer the Halo 2/3 method where they punish you for losing. I am disappointed.

Okay, I'll try doing it again the next time I play.

So far, it's pretty good. I need to learn all the maps and where to rush for the power weapons. My 1st game was SWAT...I went -7. :(

1st game = -7
2nd game = +5
3rd game = -1

Current K/D ratio = .90 :(

Yeah, CanadaPost FINALLY delivered my order yesterday. We should. A lot of my r/l friends want to play with me so I have to balance my r/l friends and Internet friends. :psycho:

Btw, anyone here log into Bungie.net for the nameplate icons? I'm using the Halo 3 one. It's somewhere in your settings, I think.

what exactly is the challange?
Beat the campaign on Heroic or higher (Legendary in other words). You get 5000 cR for doing that. Plus, I've been getting about 1000 cR everytime I beat a level on Campaign on Legendary. So I will have about 9000 cR once I finish Legendary. Plus, I'll be getting that plus about 4 or 5 achievements. I would get:

Complete Heroic Campaign: 50 pts
Complete Legendary Campaign: 125 pts
Complete Legendary Campaign by yourself: 150 pts
Complete a weekly challenge: 10 pts

So I would get about 335 gamerscore points. Plus, I would unlock more of the Waypoint armor, leaving only the chest piece left for me to get.
