Firefight? AWESOME. Already planned on getting this on its first day, but now it's a MUST-BUY. It'll be the game of the year, no doubt.

In the end of that trailer, when the guy said "Welcome to the last day of the rest of your life." I giggled a little.

Looks insanenenenenenene. can't wait.

EDIT: AT 35 IS THAT AN AIR STRIKE?

Reach definitely looks like a great game, maybe even the best Halo ever. I don't know, the beta was wicked awesome, the added features seem great, and if the story's good, Reach will be the best Halo, in my opinion.

I'd be interested, though just to warn you, I'm not a particularly skilled player. There are times where I do pretty well but sometimes not so great.

Doesn't really matter. We'd play for fun. I was thinking BTB since that is the playlist which allows the most players.

By the way, has anyone ever played halo 1 on the pc? It is supposed to work on Windows XP, sadly I have Vista. But I was wondering if there was a way to get it to work on vista.

If we ever do a Halo game day, may I please, please, PLEASE request we don't do Fat Kid or Teacher. I am absolutely sick to death of everybody playing those exact gametypes over and over and over and over... and over and over and over again. It's like Infection's the only thing anybody plays.

If you can do that, then I'm interested.

I'd be up for a halo game day :D

Fat Kid is where one person (alpha zombie) is virtually invincible while everyone else has to run form them. Something along those lines....

Teacher is like a role-playing game: one person is the "teacher" (alpha zombie) and tells everyone else what to do. You can guess what happens from there......... :p

To elaborate on Thunder44's post:

Fat Kid is where the Alpha Zombie starts off with a huge amount of damage resistance and shields (but he's not invincible) and 25% movement speed. His infected zombies die in one hit (naturally) and move at 300% speed. The map it's played on is ALWAYS the same - Foundry, modified to make one very long maze of passages filled with obstructions which the humans have to knock down using their weapons to get past. In a good party the humans almost always make it out with minimal casualties. And there's only one way out of the maze, so it also ends up with any zombie getting blasted as soon as they round the last corner. :(

Teacher is zombies with one life. One guy is the teacher, the others are students who can't kill him except by assassination. It's always played on the Classroom map (yes, I've played it enough to memorise it), which is basically a model of a small school. It's possible to escape the map, though, so a good portion of the time you end up with a stupidly long chase between a student and the teacher that just bleeds the timer dry. It is SO boring to watch, especially if you're dead.

Whew... went into much more detail than I thought I would there...

I've made several different zombie modes. Zombie/infection are my favorite, right after grenades only.

Anyway, I have one similar to "FAT KID"... >_> But it's not...

Anyway, it is a slow zombie with a hammer and laser, regular infected with fast speed. Played on Jankytown. Why Jankytown? It's maze ish, but it was a Bungie made varient (Yeah, Bungie), and there are three levels to it. Alpha Zombie, or as I called him, the Nemisis (RE for the lol) has insta kill. I've made alterations to his health, and probably still will. I want him to be slow, not die easily (nothing you can do about assassinations), but not impossible.

I have others, including one made for Sandtrap, called WW:Z. FAST zombies with hammer and sword, and humans with BR and vehicles.

Others too. :)

Well, I haven't decided yet if I want to do this. Only if enough people are interested. I'm assuming your 360 got the infamous RRoD/E74 error?
Yes, that'd be the one. I can get by it, but can't load any games...and before the RRoD, I couldn't load either of my ODST discs...

I'd totally be down.

Fat kids great if you play on the right kind of map.

I have a TON of racing maps, if anyone likes those.
Only legit racing maps. I've accidentally jumped into a couple hacked maps (which to THEIR credit, was kinda cool), but I don't wanna be hit with a banhammer from the almighty Bungie lords.

i don't think you can get banned for having the maps, just making them. iunno. i don't have any insane maps. the most "hacking" there is would be the over lapping of blocks to make a smooth track, dunno if thats even hacking or not.

No, I'm talking about taking pieces from the game that you shouldn't have access to in Forge. Like the windmill on Zanzabar/Last Resort and making a giant tunnel out of a bajillion windmill pieces.

Like I said. Cool looking, but no thanks.

Apparently, there's going to be a lightning weapon Thor would be proud of (implying a hammer, either Gravity or totally new) and a vehicle with a similar feature, it's driven by it, I guess...heard it in the Metroid Database forums, I could link to the post, if necessary. I believe they found it in a recent Bungie article, though...

Lol. The word 'trilogy' sounds way better than quadrilogy or whatever they'd call the mainstream games then, imo.

Oh, and the Cole Protocol is hereby my favourite Halo book of all time. It has the real Thel Vadamee in it. And he gets a ****** intro by defeating and killing three assassins, too!
Cole Protocol was good. Check out the most recent Halo book; It's a compilation of short stories, my favorite of which was about the flood.

I think it's Halo:Evolutions.

I would recommend every Halo book out there (Except "The Flood". It was written by a crappy author, and it covers the first Halo game. Goes against every character in the series.). Fall of Reach and First Strike are my favorites, Ghosts of Onyx is all about Spartan IIIs, which people will complain about canon with Halo: Reach, but Bungie can do what they want.

This, pretty much, except that I wouldn't recommend the Graphic Novel of it either. Didn't like its character portrayal or art style at all.

Mewonders where Gray Team are now...
