what an incredibly demoralizing experience

I started off 1/0/0 as kog at mid in a ranked game. I proceeded to take mid tower. I went top, got a gank against a Pantheon. I took top tower. Meanwhile, our Xin was doing everything he could to intentionally feed. Later on, we scored an ace and pushed mid to inhib turret somehow...

QQ

for more than half the game it was 4v6 and we were winning in turrets surprisingly

HOWEVER

when you give an urgot 11 kills before the 20 minute mark, and Pantheon 7

you just learn to give up

The game is going to frustrate you in solo queue if you only focus on winning. That's what happens when you play a team game with randoms.

Just roll with the punches, and try to have a good time/learn no matter what situation you end up in.

Amumu, Garen and Kog are basically always banned. Sometimes one of them will slip through the cracks, but it's rare. The last ban is usually either Vlad, Morgana, or MF.
ppl are banning MF? ****. And I thought Kog was "considered" bad? Was I misinformed? (I personally find him annoying)

I think when Kog's attack speed is changed he'll be back to being not absurd.

Kog was bad for awhile, and then two shifts took place:

Tanky metagame started to form

* Caustic Spittle has been remade and now grants:
o Passive: increases attack Speed by 10/15/20/25/30%
o Active: deals 60/110/160/210/260 damage and reduces the target's armor by 5/10/15/20/25 for 4 seconds
* Bio-Arcane Barrage cooldown reduced to 15 from 20
* Void Ooze cooldown reduced to 12 from 13

So now you have a carry that can normally melt squishies regardless, and now he can do a ton to tanks whether they get HP or Armor or MR or all 3 for him.

he's absurd. no other ranged carry eats people as consistently fast as Kog Maw.
% Health Based Damage with an AS as high as his leads to trouble.

I think when Kog's attack speed is changed he'll be back to being not absurd.
Somewhere I remember something about Kog's AS bonus being multiplicative instead of additive. They didn't intend for it to give him that much AS, so yeah he's getting a bit of a nerf. It probably won't change much though unless the AS change is drastic

GGs tonight Dan and Wobbles. Urgot was certainly not useless.

I am on a freakin' roll in LoL right now btw. I think I've won 17 out of my last 20, including like 10 with Galio. This has been very good for my IP.

I am on a losing streak in LoL again. I played with a shaco last night who insisted he got golem even though i was jungling. I talk him I could forgo red buff, but I absolutely needed blue buff to jungle fast. The other team had a WW so I couldn't risk going for their blue.

The next game was awful. First three picks were kennan which was ok and then Fiddle. So off the bat our team is squishy. Then the next guy picks Karthus. Why would you go Karth when the guy before you was fiddle and the team had no tank. Their first pick was Malphite so I had to go to nasus. I played well, but out fiddle was just bad and our kennan liked to initiate and die before a team fight started.

i know exactly what you mean...this kind of stuff always happens. Im fairly certain you are at a higher ELO than me, but it sounds like it happens at every level of play...solo queuing is never fun...*sigh* So many games lost because of pointless mistakes.

I want to expect better of you, but I know not to
I had a loss last night that my Nidalee insisted was my fault despite the fact that she died TWICE in the first 3 minutes to Katarina top. I **** you not, she died TWICE at level 1 at solo top. "How is that possible?" you might ask... quite simply actually... REVIVE + TELEPORT... on Nidalee... one who can't even survive to hit level 2 with the 400 extra HP from reviving. So yea, clearly my 2-0-2 Jungle Pantheon is to blame (finished 2-1-2 when I got dived by 5 with Baron buff after they wiped my team).

This is over 1600 elo people... Low Elo Hell does not exist, everyone's just a baddie .

About comparable to Xin Zhao on the first run, which is to say slower than the rest (other than maybe Heim, I dunno, never done it since it's a joke build, lol). After madreds, he's sufficiently fast to clear the jungle as fast as it respawns, but is still obviously slower than the AoE based junglers and slightly slower than the AS boost guys with Razors (WW/Xin), but he mostly makes up for this by not needing as good positioning because of his ult.

He has the fastest and most effective level 3 double buff gank in the game though. Golem -> Wolves -> Lizard -> gank is easily doable and it's really savage since you can W-> auto-attack for a flash + stun -> permaslow them with Lizard, it's like a mini-WW ult at 4 minutes.

He's also a pretty resilient jungler because he fights other junglers well. It's not like fiddle/amumu where the opposing jungler just hops into your jungle and starts ****ing with you without fear of getting their *** kicked.

Jungle Heimer is Lulz. Even sillier? Double Jungle. Heimer takes Blue, other person takes Red. EVEN BETTER? Someone on the other team goes to stop you, but catches both of you at the same time and ends up getting *****.

I had a normal game preseason 1 where Sshadow called jungle with Olaf and then someone else picked WW with Smite and they both refused to budge, so that left solo Pantheon mid, solo Kass top, and solo Nasus Bot with WW starting Lizard side and Olaf starting Golem side vs. an Amumu in the opposing jungle. Let's just say that Amumu did not have a very good game and I think Utahime, StuffedTurkey, and myself put up a combined 20+/3/30+ as the three solos, lol.

*shrug* I just sorta hate how the character played in general. Completely useless aside from ganking for like 40 minutes, then he finishes his build and would basically solo Ace after his team lost a 4v5 as he was BDing your inhibs. I dunno, he was just a complete douche.

Any general tips for new comers?

I've gotten five friends to download LoL and play in the last week and a half.

Such a good game.

1. The game's recommended builds/items for individual characters has definitely improved over the old ones. While they usually aren't "optimal" builds, they are a good starting point for getting a general understanding of what items and types of items your champ likes.

2. Map awareness is amazing. Don't neglect buying wards and planting them in important/well traveled places. Wards can make or break games, do not underestimate their usefulness in all stages of the game.

3. Try not to "face" check bushes unless you are Spinning in with Garen or someone who will escape if things go south. If there is a bush you NEED to have info on, try to either ward it or play a bit more defensive than usual to avoid any surprises. Being denied some gold/exp is a small price to pay for dying or losing a tower because you got Ganked.

4. Don't spend IP on runes until past level 20. Usually you will waste IP if you get lower tiered runes, just wait until you hit 20ish so you can buy Tier 3 runes.

I did double jungle (MF and Urgot) with my brother in a normal game, just because we didn't have a jungler and my brother refused to accept a team without one.

It worked out pretty well, funny enough.

I ended up in a game with a double jungle situation today on my alt. Both Olaf and Amumu "called" it and they both refused to back off. Eventually our top lane was gonna fall if someone didn't give in so Olaf went to defend, but they both kinda got ****** on experience by then. Fortunately I carried us FTW because low level games are lolz.

Some characters I really want to play outside of Amumu / Panth: Xin Zhao.

I don't know if Twitch / Teemo are good but I want to pick up one or the other. Maybe even Veigar and Nidalee. I usually play with a Nidalee / Teemo player though and we lane together for the most part.

Insanely good Ashe / Annie who solo's mid really well for our level.

How do these characters do in higher level play?

Xin is pretty fun. He's tanky DPS, you get to charge in, do damage, and not die instantly lol.

Twitch isn't "bad", but higher ELO it becomes harder and harder for Stealth based characters to perform strongly (besides Pre Nerf Shaco lol). Teemo is hard garbage, there's no way around it. AP or AD will not cut it. He's squishy, his cooldowns are a bit high, move quick takes up a valuable spell spot, his poison is meh, and his shrooms are about the only thing he has going for him. Don't pick up Teemo if you are playing serious, he's FUN but not good.

Veigar and Nidalee pretty solid. Veigar can get pretty annoying with his AoE stun, Nidalee your AP rapist

Ashe isn't bad either but is outclassed by a few in her category. Annie is pretty strong if played well.

Yessssss... Sona tomorrow! Also, I tried Miss Fortune tonight since its her free week. What an easy, fun champ to play. She melts faces so hard. I might have to pick her up once I get past the Sona binge I'm about to embark on.

Epic comeback of epicness tonight... Scamp started the game 0-10 and we got pushed back to our base towers before we got farmed up enough to handle the enemy team. A couple of good teamfights in the jungle where we split their initiation and we were able to battle back and trap them in their base. Then it was just farm/press to win. Scamp rebounded nicely, but I think DMG's 9 kills lead the team, followed by my Amumu and Azen's Janna with 7 each.

Oh... yeah... hey Tom, Jungle Nunu isn't good at getting kills? 11-3-15 :mad088:
