Geno has too many Splash Screen ideas and CGI ideas. Though my favorite are: Geno Awakens! And about the CGI: all the scene in Gaz’s house awakening + the Bowyer sequence.

If I have to choose a number 2 for each: it would be: something with Aligns/Party and the CGI starring with Rosalina and Kirby.

Mario is a must, he will be the co-protagonist of Geno trailer and I support that! A nice reference at the end with the SMRPG gang + Hero with Cloud with Geno, would be epic too.

Eeno. I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be 'Jiino' just going by the Japanese pronunciation, but wasn't there a case where the announcer in Ultimate mispronounced someone's name? I might be misremembering.

Well they can make a KI game without Sora Ltd... It may play into the rumors Fatmanonice has been hearing about second tier series getting surprise sequels and revivals.

Flipping back through this thread is kind of hard, but the first mention of anything around the 27th from any of us in this thread was on Tuesday, which was the 11th. That was also the day people started speculating the 17th for an indie direct. I think prior to Tuesday, people had been talking about something after the 20th of this month but I don't think the 27th came up until the past day or so. I just find it interesting because the 27th was pointed out today in this thread as a speculated date. Really nothing else of note to say

Definitely unlikely, but in weird way I do appreciate Blocked Content just a little bit. If only because him covering 4chan "Leaks" at least distracts a little bit of the waiting time & opens discussions on "What If?" talks.

Funny enough, there's a new person posting on /v/ right now claiming the direct is on the 27th as well. It will follow a partner direct on the 17th and an indie direct on the 20th, basically encompassing what their plans were for E3 as three separate directs. They're answering questions in the thread and one of the highlights is they say there is no collection it's just a Mario 64 remake. And that the smash news is another tease, not a reveal. They also specifically say the new Donkey Kong is another platformer returning to the roots, and it involves dinosaurs and Kremlings. Have heard from people like Fatmanonice in this thread that Donkey Kong is definitely coming back so this 4chan poster definitely follows the same sources we do. But again, they provide no proof of anything. So we'll see. Likely another fake to add to the pile but it's still fun

Who do you guys think the Extra Echo Fighters would be, assuming that we get 4 in total to make that perfect CSS?

4 echoes? That for ME would be Gooigi, Ninten, Metal Sonic, and Ms. Pac-man

Gooigi would make an obvious easy echo for Luigi, like Luigi but can take more punishment (ironically though, is weaker to water and has the Sonic/Incineroar damage effect when swimming). I'm still not ENTIRELY sure how a Gooigi Mii Costume would work, but an echo I can imagine.

Ninten could be either an echo for Ness or just for fun, an echo of Lucas. ESPECIALLY if something Earthbound IS INDEED COMING, and Ninten is part of it, he could be a promo for THAT.

Metal Sonic is KIND OF a personal want (I'd love him MORE if he came with "What I'm Made Of") but he could not only celebrate Sonic's 30th Anniversary next year (would be neat if Smash would acknowledge that with a character) but MAYBE... IF the Legacy XP takedown is indeed related to characters (such as our boy Geno, The Blue Gangsta himself), then PERHAPS the big surprise is that Metal Sonic is roped into that too (though SEGA has shown themselves to be cool with fan stuff). Metal could be like Sonic, same speed and everything, but being a robot could take more punishment. Plus if he's an echo, insert obligatory "You might know everything I'm going to do, but that's not going to help you because I know everything YOU'RE going to do! STRRRRRRANGE, isn't it?"

Ms. Pac-man. She's an easy peasy Pac-man echo, much like Gooigi, I'm not entirely certain how a Mii Costume would work for her unless it's literally just the top of her head as a hat? Easy Pac-man echo, easy to just slap in as thanks to Bandai Namco for making this whole game if a spot in the Fighter's Pass (The Lloyd straight out of The Stupids, Nightmare, etc) isn't happening.

There was an interview way back where Nintendo higher up said that they wanted to continue adding content to their evergreen titles, and it doesn't get more evergreen than MK8DX, the top selling game for the console. And before people say "well where was the DLC for Odyssey or BOTW Season 2?" Nintendo does consider the VR updates, the extra costumes and stuff like Luigi's Balloon World as DLC. Plus if any Mario remakes are coming, they probably were made by the team that worked on Odyssey using the Odyssey engine. We also still don't know what the Mario Kart team has been working on this whole time. Obviously Mario Kart tour exists, but that can't possibly require everyone's energy. It seems kind of weird to have a Mario Kart 9 already and it's evident we are probably not getting a sequel to ARMS anytime soon. I mean, they could be working on something wacky like a F-Zero revival but I doubt it. If anything, they probably could be working on new DLC. Why wouldn't they? That game prints money.

And the longer we go without an announcement for the Mario Remakes the less likely they become. Remember how many people swore Star Fox GP was a thing? We are near or past the cutoff for announcing and then releasing the games on the actual anniversary, and although we know Nintendo is doing something for the anniversary it doesn't necessarily have to be remakes. I mean, the 25th anniversary was a horrible port of Mario All-Stars for the Wii! And it was a $30 game! And in general, when compared to the 25th anniversary, the 35th anniversary is way less significant.

What if it turns out Geno isn't just DLC for Smash? Like, he turns out to also be DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, hence why Square is entertaining him in Smash (he promotes a new thing that can be purchased)?

Or perhaps SOMEHOW there IS a Mario Kart 9, it's a Double Dash callback so as not to step on 8 Deluxe's toes AND play the nostalgia card with Gamecube, and Geno and Mallow are two characters IN it that can like, drive down Highway 40 in their big ol pickup truck.

Mind you, I'm just in favor of Shadow in general, but I also think it'd be funny if we got the Geno/Shadow/Doomguy team from that comic thing I briefly entertained a while back. A team full of shooty cool guys with otherworldly connections would be kinda cool. I'd even take Dante as a fourth member.

Last straw was the ff7 remake. Exvellent combat hampered by the AWFULZ CORRIDOR DESIGN. They had the nerve to make it a multipart game.
I still can't believe how -Enix's DQXI is so good and square- just keeps doing pretty games with awful design.
It reminds me why I rather have a SMRPG2 from an indie developer and that they maintain the theatrical, clay cgi like models from the original one.
