A lot of you are discussing the idea just that the leaker could have lied by omission right now, but honestly they could have gotten factual info from an inside source then added on all the SE costumes and sent it to Papa knowing that after getting things right and talking to Papa he would eventually spread this information and then there would be a small group of people to corroborate the leak by spreading it to a small group of others himself. People will go to insane lengths to fake things which is a fact that's been proven time and time again. There are many ways in which any amount of false info here goes badly for us whether it's withholding the Geno costume or totally making up these SE costumes in general to lead Papa and those that listen to him astray. I know Papa has no intention of misleading us, but that doesn't mean I have to trust everyone he trusts.

This is just so incredibly unlikely though and also isn’t what actually happened. PapaGenos wasn’t the only person who saw this list. Sabi and others were given this information way before the September Direct. So the idea that it was specifically targeted at PapaGenos falls apart. And really what would be the benefit of faking something like this? They’ve allegedly made up fake leaks before but to do so in this specific situation would be burning every bridge they have especially to PapaGenos who seems to be pretty friendly and regularly communicates with this person. It really just doesn’t make sense.

I would like to point out that Character presentation videos (following the pattern of Hero's and Banjo's) and the Mii costume videos are uploaded on the Nintendo channel. As for the Smash Bros. channel having recent activity, it might mean a new character reveal trailer as those are uploaded there. Chances are, we may get more Smash news in a little over a week from now.

Also please read what people say before responding. I acknowledged that this list was sent to multiple people and how that could play into an elaborate troll. People who troll don't care about burning bridges and troll for the sake of trolling or some kind of feeling they get out of leading people on. It doesn't have to make sense to us or be beneficial to the troll in any other way. Plenty of trolls have shown this. People will go to insane and baffling lengths to lead people on and this is fact. I'm not saying this leak is a troll, but it could be. We do have good proof to suggest it is real, but keep in mind even if information this person got was legit, plans change and we could end up not getting all of that content or changes to it. I don't really think this person is trolling, but the fact remains that they could be and it wouldn't surprise me one bit. I just naturally doubt leaks anyway no matter the evidence. Look at all the "evidence" we've had for other leaks that didn't pan out. Don't try to tell me that this leak is different because it's simply not.

Agreed. This is where I'm leaning. As MisterMike alluded to, we'll have to keep an eye on the costumes when Terry's added. It could be that those characters are just costumes. However, if we're looking at 5–10 more characters, then SNK may get a second rep at some point.

No your're right about that, which is why giving her a fakeout too would spoiled the ending. If she was the rep I would bet Terry wouldn't have been included either.

It's definitely not Smash-related, as he's saying it isn't solely applicable for the Switch. I'm willing to bet TWEWY2 (TWOWY? ) and not Neku in Smash.

Yeah I think it's TWEWY2 as well but he could be playing coy about it as to throw off Square/Nintendo's scent but I could be wrong. Hopefully I am cause TWEWY2 would be a lot better than a Smash appearance imo.

Yeah I dont think we gotta worry about that. Neku just doesnt seem like next character material anyways. He’s somewhat in Crono’s spot but doesnt have the 20 year legacy and he doesnt the fandom surrounding Geno. Nothing against the character or game though

TWEWY2 may actually happen in the foreseeable future!? I know that the remake of the original game on Switch teased a sequel and that the next KH game may focus around TWEWY Shibuya, but I did not expect Square to announce/discuss a sequel this soon since it is a relatively niche game.

I mean, if Yoshi counts as an own series (and he even has the same main villain as Mario) i would think Mario RPG would count as an own "series" with a unique symbol too.

If so, wouldn't that mean Geno would still have the Super Mushroom symbol if he were a fighter? Or would Nintendo, and/or Square Enix, and/or Sakurai change Geno's status if he becomes a full-fledged fighter?

Personally, I think Geno will still have the Super Mushroom icon. I don't know how the Smash team decided to categorize fighters, but Yoshi and Wario's franchises are, well, franchises. Even though those two originated from mainline Mario games, they are given their own franchise icons. Geno is a spinoff character, so would that mean he wouldn't get the same Super Mushroom icon? Dr. Mario still has the icon despite his spinoff status (though I suppose since it is Mario he is still considered a mainline character somewhat). Regardless... Geno is just from one game (this is the one time I'll argue that, to me, that point matters). I don't know, it would just be weird to me if Geno had his own series icon since he is from one game and he already is associated with Mario (and already has the Super Mushroom icon by his Spirit I'm pretty sure). Seriously not trying to offend or upset any Geno fans by saying the "one game" argument (I don't even know why I'd do that though, as I've said my full support for you guys in hear many times). But in this situation, hopefully you understand that I'm not dogging the guy or delegitimizing him or anything (not like I'm saying he doesn't "deserve" to be on his own or anything).

I just checked, and Geno is considered a Mario universe character in Smash Ultimate.
