Ganondorf is the most fun character in Brawl.

I'm serious about this one. This isn't about personal bias or preference. I believe Ganon for all purposes of having a good fun match in Brawl is by far the best character in the game.

The reasons why:
1. Ganon lacks a projectile. In Brawl, many characters like to play keep away with projectiles, which can slow down the gameplay, and in Brawl, projectile camping is promoted due to the lack of ways it can be appropriately countered. When you play Ganon, you cast these gay things aside meaning that you will actually have an incentive to interact with your opponent.

2. Ganon has COMBOS. And good ones at that rate. Flame Choke and D-air combos are win really.

3. Ganon is very strong. Every hit you land as Ganondorf makes a clear difference and having opportunities to slaughter your opponent at 80% are very satisfying.

4. Ganon has good range and priority on attacks. If you are really aiming to hit someone with an attack, it's not unreasonably hard to connect with an attack, unlike say trying to hit someone with Falcon's N-air which has zero duration and priority below him.

5. Ganon's strengths and weaknesses make Ganondorf dittos officially among the least lame of all character dittos in Brawl. There is really no "gay" play in Ganon dittos, you have plenty of opportunity to combo and punish with kill moves. Ganondorf's slick edgeguarding is also very viable in these dittos while at the same time he's not getting buttraped by MK's insane edgeguarding. These dittos basically are the type of matchup where there is a lot of ways you can play this, since there is no one way to play Ganon that isn't punishable by the other Ganon, and everyone here knows when Ganon punishes someone they REALLY pay for it.

I highly suggest that major tourneys go by these rules: Ganon only, no items, Battlefield. :chuckle:

I whole heartedly agree with you A2ZOMG. One can criticize G-dorf all they want, but Ganon will forever be the most fun to play as in Brawl. He's one of the few characters who can turn an entire match around with a simple combo.

At any cost, we need some Ganon wins, or at the very least, some placings in some tournaments.

Another fun thing about Dorfy (as I lovingly call him) is that I have never ever been called cheap when I win with him. I have to put up with whining from losers when I use MK. Ganon puts a stop to that in a heartbeat.

I agree. Not only that, he's the best to play competitively as well ( well for me at least).

Honestly, I'm only just getting beyond the limits of better with him. He'll be both fun and strong for me at the same time.

On another note, I've KOed a Caption Falcon who I play usually everyday, with 6 hits starting from 0%. This just goes to show you, patient wins with Ganondorf.

Tell me the moment you can SH N-air Squirtle 10 times out of 10 when he's STANDING STILL.

The two kicks have ZERO duration. Like both kicks last like a milisecond each with HUGE lag time between both kicks, meaning that you could fastfall N-air on a still target in the air, and it will miss them 8 times out of 10.

Sure Ganon does have somewhat similar problems with his N-air, but not NEARLY to the same degree as Falcon's.

Agreed. Ganon is awesome. I don't know if I'm at a point where I could play him competitively, but I'm not bad with him, and he's incredibly fun to use.

Personally, I tend to be fairly accurate with Ganon's N-air, whereas hitting with Falcon's tends to be much harder. Then again, I suck at Falcon, badly, so that might be it too.

Be patient, my friend. I believe we're at the knee of the curve. Placing in tournaments as Ganon will be commonplace soon.
We need like...a Ganondorf Motivaor Thread or something crazy like that. Get people pumped and start using Ganondorf.

I say we start a Ganon Tournament challenge.

Within a month, perhaps two we as Ganon players and contributors try to get Ganon at least at 5th from the bottom place in the Tournament Ranking List and keep rising from that point on. Just trying to fulfil each challenge.

In NYC there used to be weeklies at Web2Zone, but that stopped. In Mid-October, Play n Trade is starting a monthly tournament which will hopefully be evolving into a weekly shortly thereafter. I will be there next month, and I plan to start the long trek to the top. Ganon will have his day, mark my words. If there are any other NYC ganon players, be there, and we'll start repping for him.

Nothing sounds more fun than being 0-Death comboed by Falcos.

Mmhmm, good./[/sarcasm]

In all goodness though, Ganondorf is definately fun to fool around with. Love his sparta kick.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go cry in a corner for a few hours. :urg:

lololol. I totally agree with this whole thread. I must say, as much as I love Olimar and Snake, Ganondorf is very fun to play with, and you feel very satisfied when you pound someone with D-Air. :)

P.S. Awesome sig A2ZOMG

Agreed completly.. Ganondorf is by far the most fun character to play. Ganondorf ditto's are among the most fun ditto's in Brawl (if not the most fun). Although Mario and DK come dangerously close, in my opinion... Wolf, too, if you don't use the blaster.

Maining Ganondorf is like having really good sex. It's amazing and you want to do it as often as possible. :3

The satisfaction I get when I use Ganondorf is different than any other character, sparta kicks, thunderstorms, 60% combos, hard hitting attacks, its just TOO GOOD.

I hear you. Dayton is the same way. Only good thing about the Dayton Smash scene is it's not a long drive to Cincinnati or Columbus >.<

Aside from the fact that Deity isn't likely competitive material, he's not exactly jumping to be in any tournaments anyway. It would be good to see the King get some respect in the tourney scene, though.

More on topic - agreed 110%. Ganondittos are too fun, even if you don't have a clue how to play him. Deity often engages in four-way dittos with friends. There's always at least one other person that subs or mains him, but often the other one or two people are just playing him to keep it a ditto -- and we always have a blast.

Ganondittos on Pirate Ship are too much fun. Matches are rarely filled with more lawls than one with four Ganons bobbing up and down in the water, feeding boots to eachother.

Good times~

okay so it has 'zero duration'..but isn't that like a plus? (as it has like no landing lag)
and not to be rude, but isn't that just you having problems with landing Nairs..
and even if what you say is true..how often will an opponent be standing still in a match..

The talking in third person makes me want to shoot puppies out of a cannon at kittens.

Ganon is by far the most fun to play, just because he's formidable without a projectile and if you're tagged by him only a few times, hope that you're not tagged one last time, because you're pretty much down for the count.

Plus reverse Warlock Punching a Falcon is much funnier than a Reverse Falcon Pawnch.

Deity's not sure whether he should laugh, cringe, or scratch his head in silent confusion at this... > >;;

Very true...doesn't hurt that Ganon himself is vulnerable to getting hit with a Murder Fist, being so slow. When Deity's fighting someone who abuses a laggy/telegraphed move or tactic, he tries to hit the punch on them. People who can't play the King very well always eat a Murder Fist or two~

I pretty much agree that G-dorf is the funnest (or at least in the top 3 fun-fun list). Of course, what can you expect when you have a move-list that is 95% full of I'm-your-daddy moves?

Ganondorf has the most funny move in the game: Forward Tilt :)
hitting someone with a f-tilt while they are trying to recover is the funniest thing to do

In Melee perhaps but in Brawl Wario takes the cake IMO.
WRONG

Wario does and always will play second fiddle to Ganon. He's a markedly less evil nemesis, and he has gas. Funniest? Perhaps. But certainly not the most fun. Now go away and make some more stinky farts, thinking about what you've said, and the people you've hurt. Go on now, scram!

Ganondorf & Samus are to most fun to play!

It's fun to play Gdorf cause he has so many moves that can kill around 90%
And tech chasing with FC is way too fun to do against stupid players ^^

I love how Samus can set the pace in a match.. and dance in the air while gimping ;P

Falcon is more fun, but EVERY hit ganon gives feels rewarding.

Not to mention his jab, has more knockback than most characters f-smashes..lol.

THIS... IS... SPARTA!!!!

Every time I KO my pal with ftilt, I have to say that by law.

Ganondorf is really, really fun to use. I also think he's got sick air skills (uair has great speed, hitbox, and knockback, dair is an awesome Meteor, fair is sick KO) and some (not much) tourney potential.

Ganondorf is....awesome.
