I set L to special to make the FoG (Flight of Ganon) easier.

stRIP, the "by stRIP" part scrolls too slow.

This should be in the OP. :D

God-awesome, the only warlock punch that could compare to that is something like that from a FoG. :D

I like the fact that the 3x WP ends the match ("GAME")

Metaknight was trying to assist Ganon at the end.

"Let me help you out."

Ganon's was like....

"Get out of here, I don't need any help."

I'm going to a tournament tomorrow. I plan to use Ganondorf blind for many of the matches, as it appears I have a better Ganon than a Ness. Also Ganon is **** badass and there's a chance I could FoG -> Murder Choke Ally's Snake and/or Falcon which would simply make Ganon the winner of everything forever.

ANYWAY

Castle Siege
Delfino
Halberd
Pokémon Stadium 1
Brinstar
Distant Planet
Frigate Orpheon
Pictochat (just for Percon : P)
Rainbow Cruise

This is the counterpick list. Norfair is not on it, nor Pirate Ship, because they are "gay." :ohwell:

Which one, in general, should I strike, and concerning which ones should I keep something in mind?
I know I did too much counterpicking at my last tourney, but if there's anything you guys can offer me, I will use it. Yes yes, I know, I gotta pick based on who I am and who my opponent is, but if there's like anything I might be missing... I'd really appreciate knowing it.

Oh, and you guys should edit that video out of your quotes. Just so it doesn't lag up this page unnecessarily. Get that thing into the OP!

I hate distant planet as ganon. The platforms and uneven terrain don't let you auto-cancel crap and just about everyone else thrives there somehow.

There are two things that got me demolished at BIO2 today:

-Lack of apparent aerial options that worked
-Inability to defend against aggresive attackers, even with a defensive TS

Unfortunately, I don't have any replays, but I was wondering if anyone could somehow assist me almost blind. I know I used too many aerial Wizkicks (which has never happened otherwise), but I couldn't think of much else to do at the time. This usually isn't a problem. I can never come up with much to do from the ledge, especially not after 100%.

I also have one more quick question. I still don't get Up Smash. The only time I ever use it is to follow up a perfect TS or if someone is on a reachable platform to get a big purple foot in their ***, yet everyone seems to really like it. What else is it good for?

You can always do the Flipman, or Air dodge to the stage.
Or drop->regrab a couple times(makes your opponent think that you are planning on feinting him and then ledge attack him), but instead you just roll behind him.
Ledgejump->Gerudo can really punish players who think you will perform a defensive manouver.

Mix it up as much as you can!

Whenever a player see his opponent use a smash they'll think "punish! punish! punish!"..
Unlike Ganon's Fsmash & Dsmash, his Usmash can be hard to punish due to it's sick IASA-frames.
If your opponent is too confident in punishing your Usmash they WILL eat a Thunder palm, or even a
rib crush kick.

Gerudo to Dtilt. Does this work? I keep trying, and it always fails.
It works..

look at F3NiiX (i hope its right that way) Followup Chart

The most Ganon Newbies, are tilting the Controll stick for the DTilt all the way down, but its not right

Just press it down a bit, that Ganon is NOT crouching, but does a dtilt if u Press A (Attack)

Cuz Crouch+DTilt=to much frames.

OMG MY ENGLISH SUX HELL

I just thought you guys should know, I am very close to 666 posts. I have a new sig for me being made on another forum. If it is not made in time, I won't post for awhile. I want to unleash it as post 666. In other words, should NOT have just wasted 10 posts in the matchup thread.

But that sig will only be good for one post. Seems to me like ten contributing posts to a helpful discussion is time better spent.

But this is coming from an avatar-less and sig-less douchebag who doesn't pay attention to post numbers so what does my opinion matter, right? >.>

Quick and somewhat random question:

Can you, in a team match with a 2v1 situation (with 2 Ganons) infinite choke by having one Ganon choke as the character is being spiked out of the other Ganon's hand?

That would be awesome to see. The only thing better than that in a 2v1 situation would be grabbing the 1 and having your Teammate WP them. :D

I believe you can, in a way. Two Ganons CAN infinite choke one character, but I forgot the method. I believe the other simply had to choke when the opponent would hit the ground from a choke.

Dark Dive doesn't have any hit stun = won't work.
Realistically it won't work, but you can still do it if they drop their controller or something. If you have a high enough stock advantage in teams you can hope they give up and let you ladder them. I've tried it a few times in real fights without success; if they don't let me do it I just smash them offscreen.

I think Diddy and Ganon have a choke infinite. I've never seen a double Ganon one, but that would be pretty cool.

Teronist09, explain the GIF in your sig then. It seems to have a Dark Dive chain in it. Or, as I'd like it to be called, a No-Chain.

No, dude..
The hitstun of Dark dive is SO BAD that it even makes your opponents controller more sensetive. So if they drop their controller on the floor they will Nair even though no button got pressed down.

Diddy is still my least favorite to fight. Once he takes control of two bananas you're either dead or flying way off stage. It's not a fun fight.

Anyone else find Diddy ridiculously hard online? I can never seem to beat them.
Abusing his sidestep with dair makes it easier for me. But all the Diddy's I've fought used sidestep quite a bit, so what do I know. bannanas messing up buffers kills me most of the time :X

My brother and I were beating up on our sister. She claimed she couldn't get out of it. <_<

No. I hate tap jump. I can't do decent uairs without using all my jumps. I just hold down and roll my finger from x to a. It does take some practice.

Is Zelda a good partner for Ganon in doubles?
From experience, I'd say absolutely yes. Ganondorf does the damage to keep Zelda's moves, which are all basically kill moves, fresh, and she can help or screw you up with fire balls, so it's up to your common sense and her accuracy to keep that a positive point.

No. Just put your thumb over Y and A and make a rolling motion. You'll get it quite easily like this (not to mention it's a good way to buffer ANY lagless aireal!)

Oh, okay. I'm use to using the C-Stick for my aerials. Thanks.
I used to have the same problem. Trust me on this one : learning to do it both ways will help immensely for all characters, and in this instance, it's much harder to do with the C-stick.

One can get a free Uair in on ganon when he releases you from his up b, when you (the falcon) have around 90% damage, or more.

Due to the weird hitstun ganon's up b deals, one can only Uair ganon when he releases you from his up b when you have around 90% damage or more.

This is great when you are both at higher percents (you, the falcon and your opponent, the ganon) and you get caught in his up b, as his up b cannot kill you, but your 'backfire Uair' can kill him. This can be utilized by intercepting ganons recovery with letting yourself get hit by his up b (when you have around 90% damage or more) and then using your 'backfire Uair' to gimp him to his doom.

Due to this ganons will have to be careful with using their up b when their opponents are at higher percents.

We have tested this with sonic, MK and falcon, and all these chars can get a free aerial in when ganon up b's them when they have 90% damage or more.

The ganon community knows this. But most of you probably do not know this (only due to not playing ganon and probably not knowing such aspects of ganon).

Here is a video demonstrating the free Uair as one gets released, and how it does not work below around 90%:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uJy_Txvs74

Credit to Gf2tw for testing this with me, to make sure this works. ( gf2 is also the ganon in the vid showing how this works).

I think (almost) every character has at least one backfire aerial.

epic win!!

There's a thread on that in this board too.

Question: Can Ganon get a Dair on himself from this? (I know he gets Uair, and I'm pretty sure he gets Nair.)

Probably not. U-air and n-air come out much faster than d-air and have better range. And there is a gap between you and the ganon that you need to bridge to land a hit and d-air has poor horizontal hitbox range.

Decisions, decisions. Ganondorf has alot of options when edgeguarding, many of which are the most amazing you'll see, the very same could be considered Ganondorf's saving grace. You've got Tipman, Wizkick Meteor, Forward Air, a normal Up Air, Reverse Up Air, RAR Back Air, Down Air, of course, and even Neutral Air. I'm finding it increasingly difficult to decide which one to use against who, when, and where to the point where I end up doing something stupid. Who's got helpful input on this topic?
