I forgot adding the part where if you miss an usmash you must immediately usmash again, this may lead into an infinite loop which can make you lose because of timeout if your opponent has stock advantage, but it is the way of fox

Slide your thumb from B to Y. It's that simple. Just practice shine, jump, shine, jump, shine, jump. Then move onto shine, short hop, shine, short hop. Then shine, wavedash, shine, wavedash. Then shine, jump, aerial, shine, jump aerial.

Practice, practice, practice is really all you need.

so about that samus....
I dislike her uptilt.
It hits me when I sweetspot the ledge.
I also have trouble fighting against campy samus (which is like all of them)
I know that they are going to wavedash back into something.... so I try to just run around them and shoot lasers... but then I end up off stage because I'm bad and they hit me, and then I can't get back .-.
also uthrow->uair dun't work.

You're looking at up throw wrong vs samus imo. Up air isn't guaranteed, but you can almost always get something just by observing what they do out of stun. Most samus players either jump immediately or aerial. Punish accordingly

her utilt doesnt hit if u sweet spot with side b or up b

bait her with lazerz but not to the point where it puts you in a bad position, like near the ledge with nowhere to go. if samus is gonna attack you theres only so much she can do. and her grab isnt hard to react to. so be ready to shield if you have to

uthrow still ***** tho. samus in the air = good position for you. you can either bait a nair or a bomb with ur jumps or catch her when she gets pretty low.

With what? Like dsmash or immediate LA ftilt? Fox just grabs it soooo fast, and if they do some immediate attack to hit the tech side-B, you could just techjump and then side-B the second time you're even with the ledge on your way down. They can't cover both options as far as I know.

aren't you supposed to just bait/space bairs?
that's pretty much all I do in unfamiliar matchups, 'cause I don't want to get ***** for trying to laser inadequately.

I tech->sideb more than anyone else in chicago. Normally I get away with it 100% because people aren't used to seeing it or preparing for it and because it can be quite difficult to punish. Occasionally someone will pick up on it and perform a quick dsmash or similar move to punish me.

a samus isnt going to punish tech side b if you tech her utilt. you grab the ledge before she can do anything

edit: sw on tophs accnt

Didn't realize we were talking only in the context of samus. She may be able to dtilt/dsmash before sideb grabs the edge, I will check that now

edit- frame perfectly, no she cannot. It is quite close, though, so if you are more than ~2 frames slow with the sideb she can attack you. Luckily, due to the spacing required, it appears that dsmash would not reach though dtilt does.

Haha, told ya. ;P Sure if you are 2 frames late she can hit you, but it's unlikely she'll perform it frame perfect as well.

Dsmash and utilt don't hit at the same general length? O_o

Well I assume its more likely for the fox to be slow than the samus, since the samus will be used to moving frame perfectly out of her attack animations and fox may not be even punished or notice not being frame perfect on the walltech->sideb

It's also kinda dangerous if you get hit too far below the stage because you won't grab the ledge
For most onstage edgeguards it's usually not an issue though ...

When Samus is in the air, she's a low tier. When she's on the ground, she's pretty good.

So run around with nair and get CC down smashed 17 times, then switch to pocket Sheik and win through pure unadulterated skillz.

I literally couldn't follow what you guys were talking about. I'm really out of it. Wow.

I sometimes see space animals get hit by Peach down smash out of tech > side B. Is this because they were slow or didn't do the wall jump? Does the wall jump give more usable invincibility? I'm sure I have a file with this information somewhere on my computer (or a bookmark on my laptop maybe) but someone just tell me please.

TBH if you have a MU question it's easier to just go to search the thread > advanced search and then look for posts by Lovage, Unknown, maybe Mew2King (on some MUs - I dunno if he's posted any of his Fox stuff here I forgot), Cactuar, etc. with the character in question as the keyword. Filter out small posts if you can do that (I think you can).

Nobody can help you vs Falco though. That one you just need to be really gay and don't get shined ever (which is unrealistic, but seriously try to avoid being shined 'cuz you're liable to explode after being hit by one barring an edgecancel).

We were talking about tech side-B. Samus can't hit you if you tech side-B perfectly because you just grab the ledge too soon. Peach's dsmash CAN hit you out of tech side-B. That's because you tech the first hit of dsmash, then by the time your invinc runs out, the dsmash is still spinning and the last rotation hits you as well, before you can grab the ledge.

Oh yeah Samus's edgeguarding vs a Fox that can ride the wall is really flimsy. Tech side B forever (unless they're ballsy and go for random hogs to discourage perfect squeezes). I think she needs to do weird stuff with bombs to try and make her stuff untechable if she wants to do the edgeguard without guesswork (without guesswork would basically be without using the random hog - although you can follow up on random hog with other stuff but it's tricky to do so and the timing is strict, etc) but using bombs as a real edgeguard opens up for different kinds of nonsense by Fox (mostly revolving around timing & the weird exchange rate of bomb vs Firefox).

actually the reason why I didn't do the search is because I wanted to know a lot more questions because Fox is some what a overused and hard character to outpredicte imo coming from a Falcon main. Jeff aka Silentspectre has shown a lot of counters to Fox.
