Man. I dunno what started it, but I started doing waveshine OOS into usmash against Falcon and Sheik. Damn it's actually really good in those clutch times where you know nothing besides shine OOS will work reliably against their pressure.

does that only work when you stay grounded for the shine? i cant see how you can possibly waveland well enough out of an aerial shine to continue the combo
you can catch them with shine oos, jump waveland, fall off dair and have it connect on battlefield if you do it like perfectly on like peach/faclon/chars like those. and other stages with shorter paltforms like yoshis and stadium. waveshine oos -> usmash will only work with grounded shine tho

yeah haha idk I like randomly started multishining a lot a couple months ago (well mostly just short ones like doubleshines) and the tech skill kinda carries over pretty well since it's the same motion.

If Im going to shine a space animal after uthrowing them standing near the edge and facing towards the stage: Is there any difference when doing two shines instead of one?

(apart from doing a few % more dmg ofc)

Because? I don't really get why

:phone:
the knockback will stack if you shine early enough, e.g. they'll get sent twice as far. it happens when someone's hit twice within 10 frames of the hits, doubleshines being the only real possible way.

There are more frames of hitlag but if you can get to them within 3 frames to shine again yeah.

There's more to it than what Lovage said though. A lot of the time when you do a single shine, they could end up bouncing on the lip of the stage and being able to either tech, or more likely, fly off the stage NOT in hitstun so they could doublejump, shine to stop momentum, or otherwise try to recover immediately. With doubleshine, they will almost always be sent at a trajectory such that they don't touch the stage, so they'll always end up way below the ledge.

Edit: Btw, Strong Bad, Falco's shine does indeed have more hitlag?

btw I'd like to add that Falco shinebairs/shinedairs and a lot of team setups lead to "momentum stacking" as well.

I almost got a perfect off of someone last night as in me with 0% with 4 stocks and then the doc player rage quit lol. I took him to one stock before he rage quit. I was literally shining him off the whole time lol. Last night was good.

I got a lot of shine grabs in and dair>grabs in. Dair>grab is so ****, especially when approaching the the opponent from the ground level to a side platform with dair. Had some good tech chasing and good reads.

@bones: Like I said, these are just frame perfect moon walks. I'm curious tho, Lovage, are you only using the left right input or are you using the circular motion from left to right??

I will wager this is done using frame perfect left > right input without the circular motion.

I thought the whole premise of moon walking was that you had to do a half circle to get a crouch input. If you just hit left to right, you'd just end up DDing, unless you're saying to do a moonwalk and then go from left to right (I tried a bunch of variations of this, but I might have just not had the timing down).

Lovage, how do you do this? I NEED to know...
do u know how to multi-moonwalk with falcon? it's the same just harder. u dont gotta "dash out and moonwalk again" or w/e u were talking about. just initiate a fox moonwalk (remember u gotta walk the other way first) and then keep moonwalking after your first one

@brookman - nope i use regular circular motion. def. not frame perfect, you're overrating how hard it is

OMG okay, that makes sense.

I guess a follow-up question would be how do you do a moonwalk where Fox runs out of it though? Like he moonwalks right (facing left) then does the slow turn around into a sprint with a boost of momentum. I'll see if I can find an example if my description doesn't make any sense.

Here it is in this 4 year old video you made. >________>

And a multi version of it in Perfect Dark.

Btw bones, yes you can just go left->right. If there is not a frame between, you will do a perfect moonwalk. I remember being at a TV in 08 or 09 with kels and us practicing perfect moonwalks with falcon. I definitely had more tech skill back then haha

Curious how much tech skill is there needed to be lets say pretty effective with Fox?

EX:
65% Tech Skill
35% Smarts

Im not a super technical Fox I always seem to be patient and just outplay my opponents.

Do you guys feel Fox has to be Super Technical nowadays or does just out playing smart work well also?

Technicality with Fox is that really that important if you wanna be successful and place?

Wanna see what you guys think.
