Still crazy busy with school, if I'm going to be the one to do it, I'll start in 6-7 weeks when I'm off for summer. At that point I'll have all the free time in the world to get sh*t done.

Thanks for kind words Eric :] I'm not against the idea of taking up another project but I'm having some editing program issues right now so I don't want to work on a big project everyone's looking forward to if I'm not sure everything will work the way I want. Hopefully I'll have that figured out soon though.

We're so close to having the first ROB community video after so many failed attempts. I really hope Sil is secretly working on it and wants to surprise everyone. But if he's not going to do it for whatever reason I'll gladly fill in. Guess we'll wait and see.

That would be amazing.
I would need some guidance from people who know the direction. Keep in mind that the program I use does just about everything. Except guitars. Still looking for realistic sounding guitars. Would record myself but until I have the funds for a desktop and better software for recording I am running this off of my laptop.

Then there's still the issue of music, if everyone is cool with it, I already have some really nice, fast-paced music in my library that I think would go great in the video and would give me a lot to work with.
Bees, I like the idea of having original music for this and you seem to know what you're doing music-wise. How long would it take you to make something fast and catchy with plenty of drops?

Depends on what you have in mind and how many layers we are talking. Could be a couple days to a week. I could even knock it out over a weekend. I would like to kind of get everyone's idea of what it should sound like. Also if you guys have mixed the video all ready it would be nice to look at that. Could come up with some good hit points for the video.

I haven't started work on the video yet (still need the clips) I'd like to have the music all ready to go before editing so I can edit it around the music and it can flow better that way.
If you're feeling up to it, I was thinking either something that one could rock-out to, possibly with guitars even though you mentioned that would be difficult. Something along these lines: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIgi3zFKI8g
Dnb is always a good genre of music for combo videos, I used a Pendulum song in my last cv and it got good reviews. But anything with a high bpm will work just as well. Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aB5yuybswWk Pay attention to the part before the lyrics.
Or you can just focus on the melody if you're creative enough. Like I mentioned before, I think 8-bit music would go great with the theme of robots, if you can pull it off. This is one of my favorite 8-bit styled songs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOFAz243ZQs

Just requoting this. I can record the clips myself and PM you the hidden youtube links or something. My capture card only records with no audio, but that's not really a problem for a CV.I actually have a few more clips to send into this, if someone's gonna take over.

Uhh, if I have to go through everyone's youtube videos and pull the clips one by one, this isn't happening. I'm under the impression that 8bit already did all of that and sent the bundle to Sil in the form of a bunch of video files and bin (replay) files. I have no idea how to download youtube videos as of right now so I'm really hoping my theory is correct. I already pm'd 8bit about it but if anyone knows if this bundle still exists and where I might get it, please tell me since he's recently been MIA.

It might just be mine on Youtube. I can easily tell you how to download it, but it requires Firefox, an addon for it, and a free converter program (which is golden for any conversion needs imo).

Ok well while I'm waiting on a reply from 8bit I guess we should see if Sil can pass the clips to me so I can get started. You said you talked to him recently, can you get in touch with him again? The guy says he's busy with school, next thing we know he's dropped the project completely without a word in over two months... I hope nothing bad happened to him. :\

There's a bunch of free online youtube downloaders, just do a Google search for one.
I would love to do something 8-bit. I have tons of soundfonts taken directly from nintendo and gameboy systems. Legit sounding stuff. Combining it with techno would be great also for anyone who hasn't heard this yet. I remixed the gyromite song a long time ago.

After a while Sil stopped replying so I just gave up. I am not blaming him but I am just sad because I couldn't make it myself.

XD yeah I actually wanted to make sure that everyone was satisfied with their Combos now.
It has been 6 months. I actually want to replace a few of my choices with other videos I just found. They add up to 54 seconds, so since I don't want to add that much time I want everyone to look at they choices and make sure if they want to keep them or not. ^_^
