Yeah, sure. Who does he want to use? Also, you never told me who your brother wants to use.
No. Doing that would be a pain since your connection has more to do with strength, not distance. For example, I've played people as far away as England and Australia with virtually no lag but have played people in rural areas of Kansas and Michigan were the game basically froze.
You will still be allowed to use those characters but I'm putting you on "hold" until like 4-5 more people sign up with different teams. The deadline is this Friday so that shouldn't be too hard.
I'm going to create the brackets either later tonight or tomorrow for the first 32 people who signed up. I've spent the whole day with my family so I haven't been able to do it yet.

Read the rules before you join a tourney. Yes you can join but you have to use the characters oppostie on the tier list so for you it is toon/zss or mario/lucario.

Could you clear something up for me?
In rule #3 you said that you can only win a set by winning with both of your characters. So does this mean that even if you lose with your second character in the second game after wining with your main character in the first game, you're not allowed to change back to your main in the 3rd game?

No, it's not just you. People have been overlooking the rules all through out this sign up process. Before the end of this tournament's sign up deadline, I'm going to do a poll asking which of 3 tournament choices people want to do in the next one. As of right now, the choices are:
1. A doubles tournament where your partner is decided a week before the tournament starts. All characters will be allowed.
2. A tournament where you can choose any character you want but, there's a twist... When you beat your opponent, you have to beat them with their main in the next match in order to win the set!
3. A tournament where you can choose any character but you have to use the other characters in the franchise at least once through out the tournament. For example, if you choose Mario, you have to use Luigi, Bowser, and Peach at sometime. The categories will be more defined if this is the tournament that is chosen.
Add in:
The deadline isn't Sunday... it's this Friday... please read through it again.
@ Mobius: No, you cannot switch back in the third match. For example, if I win my first match as Mario but lose my second match as Lucario, I have to play and win as Lucario in the third match in order to win the set.
If you win with a character, you can't use it again. You have to use the character you havent won with

I like the one with having to use two characters. My only concern is if you wont be able to use one character only franchises. If your taking suggestions one think I think that would be clever is if you have to use at least two charcters in a column.

Oh ****... I'm so nervous, but I think this'll be my first tourney. I'm confident that I won't lose in the first round... I'm entering as Luigi.

Dont be, it is unnecessary. MY first online tourney was against FMOI himself and i didnt know anything about him. i was nevous and when i lost i was more than mad, and i kept on loosing every single tourny after that and finally im getting better. FMOI taught me a key lesson in loosing he simply said "believe it or not, loosing can be good for you", and i have learned from the mistakes that have made me lose. i hope you do.

It's the fact that I play Luigi, and he's horrid against G&W, and horrid against MK, and the fact that Luigi has mediocre tourney results that I'm afraid I'll ruin Luigi's name. I don't think I'm bad, but I'm just afraid. I've beaten a lot of people in the Friend Finder, including FMOI himself, but still.
