Yes, but ChrisG got good at Marvel before he was good at other games (and by that I mean started playing everything). But there's also Flocker and Noel Brown and pretty much every top Marvel player except JWong?

I mean, everyone has probably played something before. It's kind of a given. UMVC3 is a new(ish) game.
Chris G played 3rd strike before marvel

Is anyone getting Aquapazza? It's only $30 so I figure why not, but it would be cool to have other people to play with.

Admittedly probably not. Likely due to only having $15-18 in my PSN, and having a bunch of fighters. I played a little bit of the Japanese import version back in the spring, but that's about it.

That actually reminds me of when Arcana Heart 3 came out and I bought it thinking everyone was going to play it for a good bit and got maybe a week's worth of play at best out of it since the only people I found online were like the experts.

Does anyone know the release date of Soul Calibur 2 HD? As far as I know its supposed to come out this fall. But we haven't even gotten the month of release yet. I'm not sure if I'll get it though, I still have my Gamecube version just fine, and I had the PS2 version previously. But I never got to try out Spawn. Though the idea of online play is the most interesting to me, especially if it can compare to Soul Calibur 5's online, which from what I heard is pretty good.

Only thing I'm excited about is that Spawn and Heihachi and they possibly gonna be tourney legal but Necrid is still up in the air. Hope the HD rerelease last unlike other rereleases of FG's like Darkstalkers Resurrection and 3SO but I have my doubts. Also I don't know when it's coming out sadly :(

Remind me why Necrid is up in the air again, he was in all of the console releases. Was he overpowered or something? I can see that Spawn and Heihachi will finally be viable since the Gamecube version was the "official" version back in the day, which is interesting to say the least. I still haven't played Spawn. Though I have played Heihachi a long time ago, then Link a few years later.

I know alot of people really want a Wii U version of SC2HD. You'd think they'd work something out with Nintendo to make it happen since it was the best selling version of the game. Hell, I'd mostly want a Wii U version for the sake of finally having all three guest on the same copy.

Necrid was banned cause he was overpowered IDK the exact reasons why he was banned outside of that. Guest characters were banned cause they were console exclusive and later on Lizardman was banned as well cause he had a infinite with his 214B+K command grab and looping it with a glitch by inputting 236 A+G or B+G on top of that his 214B+K command grab was unbreakable. This is what I heard but that information like that is hard to come by unless you knew a player who played SC2 seriously at that time cause the old forums for SC2 guardimpact.com kicked the bucket several years ago. Only reliable place to find combos for SC2 now is on gamefaqs or youtube from combo videos. I tried my best for informing you there sir but that's why I hoping for this game to come out so I can learn more about it as well and learned these exact reasons and finally play Spawn cause I've never played him before but some of his moves carried over to Lizardman in SCV.

Whoa, thanks man! I didn't know about Lizardman being banned too. Though I'm sure that 8wayrun.com will have some stuff on SC2 now that the online edition is coming soon. I still haven't had the chance of playing SC5 yet, what did you think of the new characters? Any of them improvements on their older counterparts?

I play SCV a lot and entered tournies for it from time to time and character improvements depends on your opinion and characters but they shortened move list for a lot of characters especially from SCIV and removed A+K inputs for characters except for Voldo and Yoshimitsu. The new replacement characters are pretty much the same with some differences here or there.

I've actually debated picking up DOA5 or something if I can find it cheap enough, because it looks kinda like Tekken with faster movement and wall hazards.

A little bit alot of Calibur players tend to flock to DOA and like it as well cause of the similar movement it offers compared to Tekken in which movement can be stiff for some people. Still thinking about picking up DOA5U despite not liking DOA.

Yeah, TTT2's movement is a bit more stiff than Soul Calibur's for sure. It's weird though, I feel like lately what's seemed appealing about 3D fighters to me is that a lot of them come across as "no-nonsense" mechanically in that like if you get yourself in trouble, it's solely up to you, your skills, and nothing else to get you out of it. There's no sort of X-Factor to come in when you're down to one person and make them super fast/strong/give them healing (though TTT2 does have Rage, but it's pretty balanced), there's not a "get off of me" Burst system (though, I'm pro-Bursts, lol), guard primers, "Dizzy", or usually even a super meter at all. Of course, on the flip side of that, it's much easier to be hard on yourself over a loss in Tekken because it 'feels' more like there's literally nobody else to blame for your loss than yourself, moreso than some 2D fighters (even though the actual level of blame and fault for losing is more or less the same).

Plus, I find 3D fighters really stress keeping your calm and composure when playing and especially help teach you not to mash, which is something I always seem to have a habit of falling back to when frustrated.

Thoughts on KI????

It sounds, looks, and from everything I've seen, appears to be total arse and a really bad game with a terrible business practice that focuses on mashing and particle effects above all else. And I legitimately have no idea why everybody seems to be kissing its butt other than the fact it has the KI name.

So, in short: I haven't been a fan since it was announced and don't see what the big deal is.

I saw a little bit of it as a passed a Microsoft store. The camera was zooming in and out on every attack, it looked annoying.

But that's all I can really say on it, I've ignored it from the moment I heard it was stuck on the Xbox One. :/

For me, it's just things like "when you buy the game you get Jago free, and it's $5 a character for the rest of the roster", with the entire roster itself being on a "per season DLC" basis, along with how there's not even going to be an arcade mode at launch and how that's going to cost extra too. I mean, I get that "holy crap, it's Killer Instinct" because we've all been wanting a new KI game for over 10 years now, but seeing the status of how it is actually just really upsets me. Maybe I'm making too big of a deal of having to pay $5 individually for every single member of the character roster, but to me the entire game just seems like a shameless money cash-in attempt without any actual focus on gameplay.

Unless you're buying an Xbox One to play KI, why does that matter?

That's true, but it's mostly the principle that bothers me, and I normally go as being principle-based in things from time to time. Plus, it admittedly really bothers me that the game is likely going to be in EVO next year when I really don't think there's any rational reason why it should. But hell, IDK.

I don't like anything about the Xbox One and KI isn't enough to change my opinion. Worse yet, KI doesn't even run at 1080p thus it won't really show off what the console can do so it'd be a BIG mistake to buy a $500 console for that one game.

I really wanna buy KI but I not dropping 500 bucks on a console plus 200 on a stick if you play stick and then more depending on what system model I pick and the DLC. I do say though I betting that KI will be at EVO at if it is I will try to enter it myself.

With that being said for me SC2 HD is now out for PS3. Unfornately a lot of people are pissed with it right now. Also regarding Lizardman in SC2 in one of my previous post his infinite is banned in tournies only so Lizardman is legal in tournies.

Why are people pissed at SC2?

Smooth Criminal
Because right now for people the matchmaking is barebones as in no online lobbies, matches are 2/3 rounds on ranked opposed to the 3/5 rounds in 3d games today, you cant skip round winning cutscenes in ranked, some input delay from what I hearing as well as private matches are one and done so after you get done with a private match you have to send another invite to that same person to play them again and the same goes for ranked as well a hit and miss netcode on top of that. Long story short it feels like a cheap nostalgic cash grab for $20. Also the port is based off of the PAL version of the game and that version has more busted stuff and glitches along with it. I still wanna grab it myself but I still gonna wait a little while longer before I make my decision.
