Yeah, this may have been done before here but I'm lazy and stuff. If it has, the mods have permission to strike me down with 20 spears, throw me into a raging volcano, cast Armageddon on me and feed my pathetic melted, impaled and skinny body to crocodiles.

Onto matters that actually matter: Are you able to list 10 of your favourite games? Either growing up, or now? Doesn't necessarily need to be in order as that can be a stressful experience in which I almost feeling like cutting myself over. <3

I think it's the best because it's Final Fantasy doing what it does best and not trying to be something else or taking any risks with gameplay structures (sigh - Junctioning/Drawing). Most people who started playing FF through the PS1 era won't fully appreciate IX - props to those who do. It also doesn't take itself too seriously and go over the top.

and WTF Beatrix is amazing, Garnet is squeee! Steiner is a tool and Vivi is just **** <3

It is also Sakaguchi's most favourite FF of all time.

wtf @ how slow Smashboards is for me atm. Anyway, Chocobo Hot & Cold (along with FF8's card game) is my favourite side-quest out of them all. Beatrix is indeed awesome (as is her music). I never got sick of Hot and Cold (Chocobo's Lagoon ftw).

I like FF7 to FF10 equally (I ****ing hate ALL of 10's side-quests though, dodge 200 bolts -_-, that extremely annoying butterfly nonsese -__-, etc). 7 is by far the most popular one though. I always found 9 to be underated.

I dunno, I just don't think FF9 deserves the apprasial you're giving it. The maint thing that really annoyed me was the amount of random characters that kept appearing during the storyline. Necron would be the worst one, Garland is up there aswell. Too many characters are poorly designed and have no backstory whatsoever.

The card game was another thing that annoyed me. It felt like they had over complicated FF8's one (Which was a fantastic mini-game.) Summons were pretty much useless in this game, unless they gave positive statuses or they were Ark.

I think it was mainly the poor storyline and the poorly designed characters that got it for me.

If I was to rate all the main FF's in a list, it'd be something like this.

Hah. I love Phantasy Star Online and I've never played it online either.
Only ever offline, though I was fascinated by the idea of it when it first came out on Dreamcast, which persuaded me to get a Dreamcast and the game, only to find out that NZ was too hopeless to get it going.

The older games, definitely. (apart from ICO)
But all in all, I love all these games.
Note how none of them are hand-held or xbox or new gen.

I think FF7 was the best. c: Mainly because it was the FIRST game I played on the PS1 and I was so wowed by it.
FF8 was nothing like FF7 which totally threw me off how games should be, and I didn't like it because of it. Well, I liked it, a whole not, but I sort of didn't, if that makes sense.
FF9 however, since I was used to FF games not linking in any way, I liked it, despite the irritatingly large heads. I didn't really like the Trance system, but I liked everything else. =] I LOVED Beatrix, too! And I liked that little girl, Eika or whatever her name was (lol, don't remember her name, but I liked her).

Gaming just gets better and better.

World of Warcraft pretty much is objectively the best game ever made. You really can't argue against it. Other classics involve Bioshock, Portal, Mario Galaxy, Little Big Planet, Wii Sports Resort... really, we're just getting started with gaming. These are the games that will be talked about for years to come, just like the ones you mentioned.

Can't wait for what the future brings.
