Hey AIDS, I'm thinking of making a Canada Smash sig/project for WC Canada like it did for EC, but I have no idea who the best players are over there.

Yea, thanks, these are all bad habits I had thought I left behind but I guess I do them more than I notice, it seriously is frustrating watching these matchs, but hopefully I'll be able to keep this **** in mind.

Although I do agree with your advice, I'm not sure slower/defensive play is the way to go, I think, because he is shielding so much in this matchup, I should be more offensive with grabs and shield pressure, sigh, shields are one thing I'm not confident on dealing with as samus.
When i think of aggressive play i think of being aerial-heavy, especially with approaches. Shield pressure/grabs is just taking advantage of the fact that he shields a lot, thats just how i think of it.

Ha well it's not a video.
This is the EC smash one, you might have seen it floating around.

It didn't feel fair to me that it said "CANADA SMASH" and it didn't have any of the good players from WC. I was wondering if you had access to pictures of them.

I think I've heard of some of them, notably Diakonos, Falsefalco and blunted_object

So I was trying this out
Dair -> SHFFMC -> follow up

Some ideas for the follow up
Ball (DI dependant)
Jab after the missile, not sure how possible it is, if it were, then you could follow up the jab with a dtilt to something else
Was able to get the dair missile on falco at 80% roughly, he got sent flying far from the missile though
didn't try on other chars

I would imagine a lot of people would be DI'ing up before the missile hits, in which case you might be able to chase it better

Here's the PR:

For some reason I'm not on there even though I just recently beat Meta
Note: RobyEXTREME is SpaceFalcon, and most people think Diakonos should be above DieSlow, since a week or two ago he 3-0'd him in winner's and grand
Would anyone outside BC on the West Coast be able to beat anyone in the BC top 5 do you think?

stop being so amazing and technical.

lol getting the shffmc off after the dair would be pretty tight and flashy. Depending on percents i either charge a smash attack or bombnair after the dair. If on a platform i might even wait for them to land/tech and catch with a grab.

It does look really sexy.
And think of how sexy a dair, missile, jab, dtilt, bair would look.

So it was me vs a Dr. Mario friend of mine. He was gonna cape me, so I looked the other way and shot a full charge beam to hit him once I turned around. He did, but then ALSO reflected my blast. FML

Oh god I hate that. Doc's cape reflects for WAY too long. You're better off fsmashing the wrong way.

wait... what would happen if your SWD got caped? Would you just turn around and continue moving, or would you go in the opposite direction?

Marth.
His aproach, spacing, priority and everything ***** samus. Even missiles are useless to him.

It's a pretty strong disadvantage.

Personally I think Ganon is her worst matchup.

His approach is stupid good, you're only option to counter his L canceled aerials to jab is to UB him, in which case you've got a chance to get fair/bair'd on the way down in which case you gained more % than you gave, and if you got sent off stage he has a very solid edgeguard/gimp game on samus.

His floatyness/lack of hitstun or whatever it is prevents you from getting him into long combo's past a certain %, as well as not being able to reliably set up a kill from anything sans maybe a dair or a grab, both of which are pretty unreliable.

Yea, when he is off the stage you can stand there and uptilt him, but he's so god **** fat it's not going to kill him till 180 or some ****, meanwhile if he techs one of your up tilts, or is able to recover high you have to fight him on the stage once again.

All of his moves rack up damage and kill, and they have stupid priority and can be followed up with a jab, so the window for punishment on wiffed attacks is small (though I guess you could grab if you knew he was going to jab),

I mean, everyone who posts here often knows how to fight Marth.
Beating Marth though, that's an issue.
We need to summon HugS for answers.

HugS says he beats the marths we beat,
But has also said he lacks the know how to beat M2K's marth
Which
Most of us probably do.

Practically everyone I play with can play marth, I'm pretty used to the whole matchup. I'll agree that it sucks major ***, but personal bias tells me it's not her worst.

The only mentionable Ganon I've played is The Warrior.
Personal bias suggests he is her second worst matchup. Though 'he' probably refers to Kage, not ganon.

But sheik takes the cake for me. If someone attempted to design a character that functioned as a hard counter to Samus, that character would be indistinguishable from Sheik. with marth's sword.
She has disjointed hitboxes too you know.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with problems fighting Marth, Sheik and (sometimes) Ganon. I never visit these forums, I just play with what I've learned. This is reassuring!

MartH is worst, Sheik is 2nd worst.(IMO)
I think Ganon vs Samus is an easy enough match up, it is about even.

Missiles **** Ganon and he is easy enough to beat if you keep track of hid jumps and intercept him after he does his second jump.

Not if you're playing in YI or a small place with close blast zones. : |

You mean YS (Yoshi's Story) Yoshi's Island is banned.
Ypshi's story is one of my best stages. Platforms are made for Samus!
Yes that would be a tough stage, but Samus can out play Ganon overall. You just have to know when to attack and when to hold back. Or you can just ask Edgeluca. He has Ganon for breakfast!

I don't think Marth is that bad. If you can establish yourself as a force close up, it gets easy. And that's what happens every time.

Dash attack and grab give you enough to keep up. Nobody grabs enough in that matchup. :\

Shiek is beatable, but really freakin lame.

Ganon is a dull as **** character in every match up. Boooooring. Might as well play that Barlw game, rather watch Jiggs dittos than a match with Ganon.

No offence anyone >_>

Victoria has no patience, it's the main reason samus eats them all. But edge does know how to eat ganons after so much of it. :D

The ganons I play just Fair and Jab missiles and force me to approach.
Samus has an advantage on the ground though.

I'm pretty sure every samus player just has a rearrangement of those 3 for their worst matchups.
Other than them, I can't complain about any matchup.

On a random side note, SHFFMC just got a LOT easier once I realized you don't have to press down all the way to FF.

Watch any Pro Samus vs a Pro Marth. For example, M2K has Marth at it's current best and Hugs the same for Samus. Watch any match of those players, or Ken vs Hugs.
The Samus needs to be at a higher level then the Marth to win.
Maybe a first time a Marth plays a specific Samus it is possible he needs a match or two in order to start playing harsh dominate, but over all I support the fact Samus is in high disadvantage vs any Marth or Sheik strictly Character wise.
As you said though, she has a couple strong points and can win, but the advantage is strongly against her in these two match ups.

Victoria is noob at patience, but edge still knows how to out play the Ganon's very well. With all the practice from Daze and Rhett, I can tell he has a very strong sense of the character.

I still go by what I said vs Ganon after watching some of my old matches. Keep strack of there jumps and intercept once they use there second. Also note that missiles **** him.

Also one more note
Smart edge guarding: Edge guard characters like Ganon in such a way that you can fallow up after and do something else if they tech, DI and recover above, etc.
I rack up a ton of % normally while edge guarding, that is my strong point with Samus. Instead of Up-tilting anny recovery, maybe F-tilt downwards to get them away from the wall for a more guaranteed edge guard. That is generally how I think while playing match ups like Ganon.

The ganons I play just Fair and Jab missiles and force me to approach.
Samus has an advantage on the ground though.

I'm pretty sure every samus player just has a rearrangement of those 3 for their worst matchups.

LOL at SHFFMC note.

Vs Ganon try mixing up your type of missiles and they level you shoot them at. (some higher then others, some lower)

Yeah, that. I meant Yoshi's Story. Ganon hits harder, so he can kill me faster, is all i'm saying
