doc's fair has a trajectory of 60 degrees.
so you could probably make it a bit more survivable with very slight DI (maybe putting your control stick at around 80 degrees?), though I wouldn't do it unless you have practiced and tested it first.

Yea, I'm not tied down to that logic either, otherwise I'd still be maining Mario.
Doc's my original main. Although, ALL of us can't really say that becuase we at some point had to use Mario to unlock Doc, but I transferred quick and stayed on him since. : ]

Now I finally understand how godly Doc really is. About a month ago I started playing Mario almost 100 % of the time 'cause I thought and felt like I could **** and combo people more with him. I practiced and read lots of mario stuff, guides etc and trained with my friend. In the end I didn't do any better I just kept losing 9/10 of the matches. There were times when I thought I'd pick up a good secondary for the worst MUs but that felt wrong, you either play mario or you don't, no secondaries. That's my philosophy for playing a "not so good" character like Mario. : D

Anyways last weekend I tried and tried to cope with only Mario. Of course I used C.Falcon, Fox, Pikachu and others for teh lolz cause it wasn't tournament or anything. As always I lost almost every match with Mario and the rage was growing. Not towards my friend or the game but towards my own stupid mistakes I kept doing over and over again. Running into marths tippers or sheiks fair a.k.a. ***** slap etc.

But then I chose Doc for the first time that weekend and I 2 stocked my friend's fox 2 times in row in a 3-stock match. That felt awesome and after that I knew that Doc is teh thing not Mario. I don't know why but playing Doc comes somehow naturally to me and when playing Mario it feels like I have to think too much 'bout what I'm doing.

I don't know if anyone is even interested but I felt like sharing. :embarrass

Dude Doc is bad. Congrats on beating your friends and finding a character that works for you, but the reality is that he's a mediocre *** character, so coming in here with something like "Doc is really godly" is going to get you shunned.

I didn't realize you took it that serious cause yeah I know I'm never gonna win any big tournaments, not even sure if I'm gonna make it to any because of the distance, language, money and all that stuff. But the main point was that after a lot thinking and looking for the right character I finally found out wich one is "godly" to me on a personal level.

Doc sucks, I know that but I don't care cause he's the most enjoyable character for me to play. If the main thing would be winning I of course wouldn't be playing him. I would just choose Fox and practice like hell but that's just not the case.

I'm pretty sure you guys just misunderstood me. I'm no pro but I'm not stupid either.

Wanna make lightshielding a higher priority? Play as Game'n'Watch or Donkey Kong (Or use Doc in teams a lot vs. Double Marth or Double Ganondorf [Renth + RockCrock])! Unless you have a **** teammate on your team, you will have to lightshield vs. those teams as Doc to have any kind of shot at winning the match.

I kinda learned how to play melee using Mario and the Doc. So I'm not sure what specifically Doc might help with. I guess wavedashing (including Out of shield) since that's pretty important.

Maybe Doc helps on being NOT technical and trying to think smart.

So the rust is off the movement if my doc, but struck w/ a lack of convenient people to play against... I'll see if (when smash friday starts again) I can get some vids. He'll look nice, even if I can't play well XD

Yeah, that's why I didn't say lack of people =P--it's more a matter of having time I can sit down and get owned by people.

Well Sheik does has the better dash attack than Falcon. But Falcon has a much better dash dance than Sheik. And after watching Shroomed's Dr. Mario all this time, I'm assuming that he likes to tech-chase using the dash dance.

I find it easier to straight up regrab vs techs with Falcon than Sheik because he recovers faster out of his throw, and the distance difference doesn't matter because of how fast and far his dash goes. He also conveniently has a lot of control over where he puts the opponent with his D-throw and U-throw because one of his throws only sends them in one direction.

Sheik's dash attack doesn't do much during tech chase if the opponent holds down Strong_Bad unless they're at like 50%+. It's also countered by ground tech pretty easily, and Fox/Falco get free Shines if they do.

Sheik's tech chase is still ridiculous.

no NOT maybe.

Say YES. Maybe things will get done that way, maybe. If you say yes. (Cuz then you believe that you WILL do it, instead of trying like a wimp, lol)

Oh, but yeah, totally. Doc tourny.

One more thing my doc friends...

When to you use up tilt? Besides the obv up throw uptilt follow up. It seems I don't use uptilt as much as... docs do I guess. It seems these are my least used moves: Nair, Uptilt, and upsmash... (Although I'd use upsmash if someone is above me, usually close enough to me, that doesn't happen mostly)

so yeah. Nair, I don't use as much because it's like, I can't APPROACH with it cuz I'll get hit, so it can only be like a random nair kinda thing for me.

I tried randomly uptilting a fox and I got HIt like fast, my move didn't even come out... >_>
