Well off Topic, but there are 2 things I'm wondering about when it comes to the End of Fighter Pass 2?
How will balance changes be affected?
Once Pass 2 is done, and development on Smash Ultimate is planned to end, I do wonder how they thinking of balancing things out. Besides the DLC Characters themselves, we are getting Balance changes to the Older DLC/Base game characters, and I wonder they are planning to end things off on that front
Do they already have a list of the total changes they want to make to every character before Development ends, and they are currently working on balancing the older characters along with the Future DLC? I'm also sure they may have a Last minute division in the case that the Next 2 DLC are considered overpowered. I don't think they want to leave Ultimate in the same state as Smash 4 with Bayonetta
Will Both Characters be revealed in One presentation, or TWO Separate presentations?
I think there are arguments for both sides of the Coin, but I might lean toward both characters being Revealed in whatever the next Presentation is, with just that one of them will release that same day or week, and having their Sakurai presents also present there
Revealing them separately goes along with the precedent that's been set by this Pass 2, as all of the characters have been revealed one at a time. They've also usually been revealed in close proximity to their release, with the Exception of the ARMS character, but we didn't know who exactly it was for that time
There's also the case that it may keep Smash in the gaming conversation for a little longer, which makes sure that Smash is one people's minds, which I think will start to die down once we know who Both of the last fighters are. It also makes sure Attention is on One character at a time, So that one character isn't overtaking the other in Spotlight. Of course they did have Hero and Banjo revealed at the same time as well though, and we knew of Terry on the same day as Banjo's release. Though Terry wasn't the last character, and Extra DLC was revealed in that same presentation, so that's how these cases differ from Fighter Pass 2
I lean towards both being revealed though in the Same presentation for these reasons though
-Nintendo might want to be able to Show the Full fighter Pass 2 in front of the audience watching their Presentation. Especially if this is around the time of E3, and when all the gaming publishers are doing their own Presentations, if they still want to try to sell the pass up to this point, then showing Exactly All of the fighters it comes with will be important in getting more people on board at this point
Keeping the fighters a mystery, and trying to show off their big gun characters the earliest point does help get earlier sales of Fighter Pass 2. however this late into the game, I think it may be more beneficial to reveal all the fighters, since I assume the people that still are waiting to get Fighter Pass 2 is waiting exactly for all the fighters to be revealed, as they are apprehensive into buying in until they know exactly what they are buying
-June is the 3rd year anniversary of Ultimate's reveal. I think it may be good to do the 2nd version of the Everyone is here, which showcases all of the DLC Fighters that were released for Smash Ultimate.
-It's likely that at least one of these characters will be very grounded compared to the characters we've gotten in Pass 2 like Steve and Sephiroth. this doesn't mean the character has to be disappointing or unexciting, but that they may not be the biggest character in the world. If the other character is someone bigger that could match up to the level of Steve and Sephiroth, then revealing Both will allow the more grounded character to rise up, especially if this character would be the last one
-They do try to line up character reveals with the presentations that Nintendo puts out. Byleth, Min Min, and Steve were revealed in their own presentation, however in these cases, there's also been speculation that all 3 were delayed for certain reasons, and that they could have been shown off at bigger presentations (Game Awards for Byleth, E3 for Min Min and Steve)
They could save CP11 reveal for the Fall presentation, but I'm not sure about that. the time between releases have been quite short. More important though, Development is winding down. Since Nintendo is paying the Smash Dev team, I do Imagine that they may want to be done with Smash when the dev team is largely down with Smash, including releasing the characters and such, and I do think at the rate we are going, we might hit that point before Fall
