We’ve had two Smash reveals there regardless - Joker and Sephiroth. I think Byleth MIGHT have been shown off there too until Nintendo was like “oops showing Yet Another FE at TGA might piss people off”. The trailer seems to be set up to be like a fake out for a 3H DLC announcement too

It will be. People don't realize that waiting until the usual time for a post-E3 direct (IE: early September) still counts as a "little while".

Real talk, I'm aware it would probably be too much work, but I'd love a Stage/Song Pass after we got the final character. Especially if we could get new stages both First and Third party.

Here's a quick sample, mimicking the company order from Pass 1 and 2 so far:

Volume 1:

1. Carnival Town (Samba de Amigo, Sega) -> Going with this because it's not my MW Sega character, but it's hard to go wrong wih them lol.
2. City Ruins (Nier, Square Enix)
3. Pretty much any Halo stage that would get the main theme in the game lol (Microsoft)
4. I'm literally fine with anything KoF or Metal Slug, you can't really go wrong (SNK)
5. Pretty much any Nintendo series that doesn't have a playable character, can't go wrong either (Nintendo)

Volume 2:

1. Same as 5 from V1. (Nintendo)
2. The Spirit Tree (Ori series, Microsoft)
3. Scramble Crossing (TWEWY, Square Enix)
4. Again, same as 5 from V1. (Nintendo)
5. Firelink Shrine (Dark Souls, Bandai Namco)

I refuse to believe Byleth was intended to be revealed the way he was. It's trying too hard to not seem like a Smash trailer at first for me to think they intended to reveal it in a presentation where it's obvious what it would be. I personally buy into the theory that Byleth and Steve swapped places

Thank you for agreeing that the Battletoads (Microsoft) and Zegram Ghart (Sony) would be two of the most hyped characters ever and would even surpass Scorpion. I thought I was the only one lol. You did say ANY Microsoft or Sony character.

On a more serious note, I don’t know about that. We’ve already had two Microsoft characters so people almost expect it at this point. I don’t think Sony has any characters on the level of Scorpion or Sub-Zero. Kratos is cool and all but I just don’t see God of War as big of a hyped reveal as MK.

true, I mean it's more so a big deal for the barrier it would break on other game console exclusive characters coming to Smash. Cloud and Joker appeared on Nintendo consoles before their reveals, as did Banjo and Steve. Can't say the same for characters like Chief and Kratos

I’m a little curious now what you guys think. Who would get a bigger reaction from the general Smash audience, Scorpion or Master Chief? I personally think Scorpion if for no other reason than that Chief is already heavily speculated and wouldn’t be surprising. Hes pretty cool.

For real though he is a lot of fun. I didn’t misinput nearly as much as I thought and stringing combos together on the fly felt so good. The large movepool actually wasn’t that hard to get the hang of. Though I can’t hit EWGF to save my life.

As for what kind of music that’d tip me off and make me go ape mode. I’ve got a few.

There was that one leak, but there's a bit more besides that. If you want the tl;dr:

• Riot has Smash fans working in there, and they even made a dedicated Brawl mod with League characters back in the day.
• Nintendo is partnered with Tencent, which owns Riot. This partnership so far has resulted in the Switch being sold in China, as well as the development of Pokémon Unite.
• Speaking of, Unite shows that Nintendo is at the very least aware of thepopularity of MOBAs, especially in markets that they're trying to expand to.
• Finally, we have one confirmed League spinoff coming to the Switch (Ruined King), with Wild Rift and potentially more also being highly speculated to come sometime soon.
