Smash Champion
I honestly can’t decide whether I’d want a TF2 or Half Life rep more. Though I know for sure Portal would have the best stage and boss.

Could be worse. You could be like me trying to push L4D as another Valve option, so you have three big ones to choose from.I honestly can’t decide whether I’d want a TF2 or Half Life rep more. Though I know for sure Portal would have the best stage and boss.
As much as I love L4D, TF2 and HL have the fan support and would probably fit best.Could be worse. You could be like me trying to push L4D as another Valve option, so you have three big ones to choose from.
Mainly I think L4D is underrated because of its own Japanese fanbase. As much as I love L4D, TF2 and HL have the fan support and would probably fit best.
I see no difference of them betraying the "classic" theme. Also off-topic but why is the background in the Smashboards Classic theme now colored this isn't classic at all
I was mainly using it because the lack of colors felt more pleasing to the eyes than a background full of them. I had to deal with the eyesore for just a few minutes, somehow thinking the redesign meant I had to now deal with it forever. Thankfully I've gotten my grayscale renders back quickly.I see no difference of them betraying the "classic" theme.
It is true that L4D has widespread appeal. Though I just can’t see how a fighter would work. A tank or Boomer assist trophy would be cool thoigh.Mainly I think L4D is underrated because of its own Japanese fanbase.
Those are bold choices, to be sure.Personally I'm not in 2021 yet, but the List Cutie Gwen Posted is not the conclusion I came to
Personally, and I'll just be straight with you guys (Screencap this for the future)
Shadow
Scorpion
Elma
In that order. I'm finally excited to post my Predictions for the fighter Pass, because unlike before, I'm fully confident with these choices.
To be completely fair, while I do think League is slept on, I also understand why people hesitate to call it a frontrunner - and I say this as someone who made two LoL threads. I think it has quite a few merits, but it's worth keeping in mind that there's more at play here than just being a big game.i still feel that people arent looking at this right. what are the biggest game franshies left that nintendo could grab just to shock people? I always land on League of Legends and something blizzard.
i think ahri is a very likely choice. way more popular than someone like reimu globally and it still would seem like a total surprise to people. blizzard is like capcom they could have their own list of likely choices.
for capcom I think its either chunli or monster hunter. my heart wants dante but im pretty sure hes out at this point. both have strong arguments beyond their legacy as games. monster hunter is already in smash represented but not playable. so its either an argument of monsters themselves represent the series and Nintendo and Sakurai were satisfied or they were just holding off for a chance to add more later.
chun-li has the terry bogard connection to Sakurai maybe not as strong but since he grew up in arcades when SF 2 and third strike were both hugely active he is connected to her uniquely. and unlike terry chun-li is popular in a more general sense. her moveset easily translates and given her mobility in SF she'd make a very interesting smash character plus the last few characters have all been weapon-based Sakurai does love to change it up.
selfishly, i dont want phoenix wright because i legit think he'd be terrible. literally the only reason.
still think we will get a nintendo rep with a pokemon being the easy guess for me. my best guess would be the fire starterfrom the new gen with some type of moveset based around the fire soccerball.
Meta Knight and Dedede haven't been villains in years. They're just straight up heroes now.are all you really need.
Meta Knight is more of a rival or anti-hero since his actions usually have good intentions. Dedede is technically a villain; it's just that his acts of villainy are pretty pathetic compared to other Kirby villains. He'll team up with Kirby occasionally, but it's always in cases where he benefits from it as well.Meta Knight and Dedede haven't been villains in years. They're just straight up heroes now.
Those two are villains like Steve is an anime swordsman. It's TRUE only by technicality.
I've been thinking about that as well:It is true that L4D has widespread appeal. Though I just can’t see how a fighter would work. A tank or Boomer assist trophy would be cool thoigh.
I used a light theme all the way up until the 2018 redesign, just with blue accents rather than the impossible-to-read yellow accents that the only current light theme has. Back then it was because I associated the Brawl and Smash 4 era more with lighter colors because of their UI design, but even if that old theme was still available I'd never be able to go back to it after I've used the default theme for a few years now.I see no difference of them betraying the "classic" theme.
Besides, be glad you're not the poor soul who enjoys light mode. I want to know if Admins know who uses that ****, because I know no one who enjoys that theme.
If Tak gets in he better bring the Staff of Dreams to Switch. All these 2021 false prophets. I see through your lies with my 2020 vision! The real characters for the rest of the pass are Tak, Freddy, and Amaterasu.
inb4 "da heck is Tak?"
isn't Tak owned by nick nowadays or does THQ still keep the IP?All these 2021 false prophets. I see through your lies with my 2020 vision! The real characters for the rest of the pass are Tak, Freddy, and Amaterasu.

Pretty sure Nick owns Takisn't Tak owned by nick nowadays or does THQ still keep the IP?
nah Dedede is straight up a hero at this pointThink I've already shared my predictions, but here they are again. I feel pretty good about them.
SwSh rep (preferably Zacian)
MH rep (not very knowledgeable about this franchise, so I don't know who they'd choose)
BotW 2 rep (if it's not one of the Champions, maybe one of the descendants?)
It's harder for me to give specific characters because there's not really a clear-cut frontrunner for any of these franchises/games. For BotW2, I don't even know what other characters are in it.

Nick had THQ first make the Tak games and than Nick themselves made a cartoon afterwards. I'm pretty sure Nick owns the rights to the Tak IP.isn't Tak owned by nick nowadays or does THQ still keep the IP?
Villainous Newcomers I would love to see in future Smash gamesWhat franchises still need a villain (counting bosses)? The only two I can think of are Porky and Robotnik.
Oooh! Yes! Then I can finally beat one of my games from my childhood! If Tak gets in he better bring the Staff of Dreams to Switch.
Hm. I guess that sticks him in a weird grey area where he's technically a video game character but the intent was always to use him in a cartoon. Perhaps it was an attempt at making a multimedia franchise that failed because, well...From what I saw it wasn't a good show.Nick had THQ first make the Tak games and than Nick themselves made a cartoon afterwards. Yeah. Despite Tak first appearing in a video game, I would consider him more of a cartoon character than a video game character.Hm. I'd personally like Heavy more, but I acknowledge that Gordon would probably be more iconic and make more waves.I honestly can’t decide whether I’d want a TF2 or Half Life rep more. Though I know for sure Portal would have the best stage and boss.
6 hours and 48 minutes till I get to bury this year.5 Hours and 56 minutes until this ***** year is over in my timezone.
Thats pretty much my Dilemma. Half Life is that game series, it would be monumental to see it join Snash. On the other hand, Heavy Weapons Guy yelling “You are dead! Not big surprise.” Is truly amazing.I'd personally like Heavy more, but I acknowledge that Gordon would probably be more iconic and make more waves.
Oh okNick had THQ first make the Tak games and than Nick themselves made a cartoon afterwards. I'm pretty sure Nick owns the rights to the Tak IP.
Yeah. The games are far more iconic than the show is, and since he also debuted as a video game I personally consider Tak to be a video game character. To be fair about Tak, his first game released in 2003 (2004 in some areas), and his cartoon didn't air until 2007, it ending up being a short-lived cartoon I think.
He is still owned by Nickelodeon though, and they were the producer for each game including the first one, so maybe it doesn't matter idk; his popular games did come before the cartoon though (Power of Juju, Staff of Dreams, and The Great Juju Challenge, each releasing between 2003-2005). According to the series's wiki, when the third game released, talks were being made with Nick to make the television series, but idk what the source of this info is; makes it sound like he wasn't planned with a cartoon in mind at first, though.
The cartoon first aired in August 2007, and ended in later January 2009.
