Finally bought Dark Souls Prepare to Doe Edition on PC. Decided to play it without the 60fps/HD textures mod, and by god, it sucked.

Then I installed the mod, and my game is kicking ***. Anyways, the game isn't as hard as I thought it was going to be, but it is hard. Died a **** ton on that first boss, but I eventually learned how to lock on, which helped a ton. (Try using a 360 emulated PS3 controller and try figuring out what does what. The process is an odd experience, but then you get used to it.)

Learning to use a PS3 controller with Motionjoy is not so bad. Learning to use the default keyboard and mouse is weird. None of the controls make any sense.

I heard bad things about the PC controls, so I never bothered.

Yeah, after torrenting the game to make sure it actually ran on my PC, I bought the game and went straight to using a controller. The fact that I can look past it being an abysmal port is a testament to how great the game is.

So all I lack is running through the Crystal Caves, Klin of the fist flame again, and then making it to the Gaint in Anor Londo with another Sif soul. Then...platinum! Sorta.

I don't get how to summon Astora before bosses to get Sunlight medals ;/

This game was definitely not made for Keyboard/Mouse in mind,

Heck, even Steam suggests you use a controller. When I got Dark Souls, I just immediately opted for controller since I was already similar with the layout from Demon Souls.

I have all the achievements on psn but all the weapons. I'm missing:

Gwydolin's Catalyst
Sif Sword (not cursed)
Sif Shield

I messed up and made the same Greatsword I made a year ago, misunderstanding the whole "curse" thing.

Can anyone lend me these items for the trophy to pop so I don't have to do 4 1/2 playthroughs: >_< I'd do anythinggggggg

That shining city is most likely Anor Londo, so hopefully we'll be returning there
I think the robed woman is a more modestly dressed Gwynevere
Those masked dudes are likely gonna be the new Darkwraith faction
I don't care what the game has though, ill be happy as long as they bring back Solaire

I will say though, the teaser does not look very Dark Soulsy.

If it takes place after Dark Souls though, that means we know which ending is canon. Or if that even matters.

The game is still very early in production, so I wouldn't put the atmosphere of the trailer as necessarily evident of the game.

As for predictions: I think it may very well be after Dark Souls (the world seems much darker and bleaker than Lordran was in the Artorias of the Abyss expansion. I would guess that means the canon path would be you are the Dark Lord and usher in the Age of Darkness.

The woman could very well be Velka; the feathers are reminiscent of her presence in the painted world of Ariamis. Your adventures could be as an undead in the other kingdoms (where Gwynevere ran off to with the Fire God, Flann, as well as where Gwyn's uncle, All-Father Lloyd lives).

Don't have too good of a guess who the masked men are, but if covenants are being implemented again I bet you can be one.

The dragon bears a great resemblance to Kalameet; I'm betting there is a connection between them.

Also, Patches the Hyena will likely be in the game and I'll backstab him just like I do now. **** Patches

So far, am I the only once that's getting a Demon's Souls vibe more-so than a Dark Souls vibe? Not that it's a bad thing or anything. Just wondering

I wish they went into a bit more detail about dual wielding. Iirc, the player pulled out another sword but didn't do a whole lot with it. It would be nice to see some builds that utilize dual wielding for crazy damage and a high risk, high reward playstyle.

I'm pretty sure they won't take this out, but if I'm not allowed to make my own characters I will be so sad D:

Yeah, I made a dual wielding katana in Demon's Souls. So much good stuffs.

I'm getting more Demon's Souls vibe too. I actually didn't like Dark as much, but it was still very good.
