All right...all right...what does Mew do, then? When you summon it in Melee, it blows, so it's gotta be better than that.

Remember, I know nothing about Pokémon, excpet what I learned from playing Pikcahu, Pichu, Jigglypuff, and Mewtwo in Melee. Save your assassination until I ask the same question multiple times.
Well, Mew is basically the same as Mewtwo. Except cute. His DNA is also the source of every other Pokemon's ( with a few exceptions ), which allows him to transform into any other Pokemon ( with a few exceptions ) and to learn any move ( err... with exceptions I guess? ).
He could do anything.

...so, yeah, I don't know.

But I guess having an FS for all three would work well, too.
I don't see the point behind giving all of them more or less the same one, though. It reduces the work it takes to make the Final Smashes, but that's about it... it makes little sense in the context of the games and stuff.
Or was there a deeper reason that eluded my tired mind?

All right, thanks.

To give them the same one would save space and effort. To give them each their own would make the Pokémon seem more like three different characters. Frankly, I'd rather each had their own.

Well, since there are only two good legendaries, one being controllable, and one sucking hard, then what else could we do? Wait... I know!

How's this? You could summon one of the legendary birds depending on which Pokemon you have out! Likethis:
Ivysaur=Articuno
Charizard=Zapdos
Squirtle=Moltres

EH? How's that?

Shouldn't Charizard get Moltres? Y'know...fire dragon and fire bird...makes sense, right?

Well, yes, I understand, but notcie how the birds have Uno, Dos Tres in their names. I'd figure that the birds could go with the appopriate typing starters. Or at least how they're presented.

Heh, that's actually pretty clever. But you have to realize that their names are completely different in Japanese, where they are called Freezer, Thunder and Fire.
But, while we're at the subject of birds: Lugia or Ho-oh are quite suitable as well.

I would've thought it was Squirtle, seeing as he was the first one to be shown his moves and he is the 'starter' form of his evolution chain. But that's just my hunch on this.

Edit: Sakurai also writes out the chain as Squirtle→Ivysaur→Charizard, which could also hint at squirtle being the first.

Squirtle, Ivysaur and CHarizard make a lot of sense to me, seeing as they are from the first season of Pokemon.

Not unlikely. There's probably one default, and you can choose your preferred Pokemon by holding left, up or right. Something like that.
why not.......bulbasaur, wortortile, and charizard?

just curious.
Charizard is very popular, everybody agrees on that.
Squirtle is also pretty popular.
Bulbasaur probably isn't so much, and there's not so much difference between Bulba and Ivy, so Sakurai probably decided either one would work just as well and made it Ivy to add some sort of balance - someone who mistook Ivysaur for Bulbasaur remarked how it is unfair that only the fire starter gets to be fully evolved.

maybe for pokemon trainer's final smash, he recalls his pokemon and enters the battle himself. He would have an infinite supply of pokeballs. He could just chunk them all over the place until his time ran out.

Fail for SO many reasons...Here are a Few...

ONE: Like BP said (the forum junkie) Too cheap

TWO: YOu can only have six pkmn @ once I doubt Sakurai would break somthing as Canon as this

THREE: Making the actual PT be a final smash like that would totally ruin/kill the purpose of him being there...Everyone wants to use the pokemon!!!

FOUR: His movement would probably be very limited due to him not actually being useable. Almost like controlling Riku in KH2.

FIVE: ....That Idea is garbage *no offense but seriously noone liked it when Ash tried to fight (1st movie and Lucario Movie) because both times he got owned.

How about we stop speculationg and let Sakurai handle this one because some of the Ideas I've seen are pretty good then others are just bogus...Im suprised noone said that one of 'em are gonna evolve and PWN you...Honestly Im looking @ a tri-pronged attack in order to save memory on the disc for other things...the Legendary Pokemon theory is legit but at the same time...not legit...I'd assume that for everyone's final smash you remain your own character that you chose *DURING NOT AFTER (ZSS)* the technique.

SO NutChucks you get a

T

for TIGER KNEE *TO THE FACE*

AND WHAT IS A GOLF CLAP????

yeah, you're probably right. I bet instead he gets to send out MissingNo. After all, MissingNo is more rare and powerful than the other legendaries, so he's the most logical choice.

What happens when you assume? Don't look at me like that, I'm not making any assumptions.

The flaw with your idea ((Why did you capitalize the "i" every time?)) is that you're not playing as Squirtle, Bulbasaur, or Charizard. Sure you control one of the three Poke'mon, however, in actuality, you're playing as Poke'mon Trainer. If Poke'mon Trainer just happens to have a Poke'ball up his *** and that ball just happens to contain Mewtwo then there's nothing illegitimate about that.

A golf clap is performed by touching your wrists/plams together and keeping them together while clapping. Due to limited leverage and power, the clap is noticably quieter. When people award you a golf clap, it's a way of unenthusiastically congradulating you, a compliment generally accompanied by some level of sarcasm.

And...I agree. This PT FS debate is getting old.

Kirby's? We've ony seen a peek, but what is it truly?
Kirby's Final Smash: Cannibalism.

Kirby begins to boil his prey alive. Once his victim is tender and tasty, censor bars sprinkle the screen to shield innocent eyes from the carnage to follow.

Well, all, I'm off to practice Smash for the Lynnwood tourney on September 8th. Wish me luck (I'll need it)!

Just though I'd drop by, say hi to some people I used to chat with... lotsa good updates! nothappy with pkmn trainer though, waste of time... I'm cool with the Yoshster's FS, but I had different ideas... Hotsauce looks to be a fun item, and I could care less about new courses...All in all, the smash team seams to be doing fairly well, if a bit misdirected. Can't wait to get smashin with you guys!
