Spunit, once you fix the momentum code, I'm wondering if there are any unneeded lines in this code that you could do away with since you found unneeded lines in the momentum code:

How so? I don't understand.
It basically feels like you hit a wall once you begin falling. Like, you'll be moving forward, but once you start descending, your momentum goes to zero. The same thing happens if you AD.

I wonder. I thought it was an updated momentum code that's shorter but it has no resemblance of the momentum code. Does it matter if the letters are lower case?

I accidently posted instead of previewing, so you probably saw just a code with no explanation.

Convention is to use uppercase but it doesn't matter.

Ah cool. I wasn't expecting the code but I guess it was extracted from the boundary code. Is this the default camera or can we change the values of things and if so, would it be the last 8 digits in each colored section? I'm going to check this out as is.

Aww, I get a freeze when loading stages with the camera code :(

Why is nobody discussing scarjumping?

Because its a deragatory name for a Japanese person originating from WW2 (?). My mom always got mad at me when I called Japanese Pokemon cards JapCards.

Does anyone else's game freeze with the camera code?

Shadowtroop: Sweet scar jumping. That should be a 1/2 liner code easily when ported and processed through spunit magic

That code also only applys to Player 1, so that's something to keep in mind.

Nice. Will try it out right away.

Edit: Now, I am not an expert at Scar Jumping or anything, but I can safely say this code works. I can easily wall jump on either Shadow Moses pillar up to 6 times with Falcon.

Edit 2: Holy crap, I managed to wall jump 17 times with Mario. And Samus... well, the timing got tricky after a while, but I managed 21 jumps. She can probably do many more. Simply amazing.

I think this is a clear indication that it does decay slowly.

21 Jumps? Scar jumping isn't going to be too easy right? I Assume that the reason it was possible was because the wall was tall and straight, right? How easy is it to do in actual practice?

The question I've always been wondering is why did you guys push for a code to enable something that is so useless in Melee itself? You keep saying you're not trying to make this Melee 2.0, but a code enabling a tactic specific to Melee that is nearly USELESS seems kind of fishy to me. IT ONLY WORKS ON ONE STAGE IN MELEE AND TOP PLAYERS PREDICT IT WITH EASE.

Sounds like Melee 2.0 now :urg:.

Its 1 line and enabled better walljumping. Whats the big deal?

Exactly lol. Some people need to relax. I'm assuming Sanuzi doesn't play Brawl+? He sounds like one of those people on the outside looking in, making pointless observations and assumptions in an uneducated fashion... no offense.

Just to clarify, wall jumps also decayed in Melee, right? Or no?
They still do in brawl. You just don't notice because you don't do multiple wall jumps often (and even then it takes a while to decay any noticeable amount. Like 3-4 wall jumps).

@Sanuzi-We have two neutral stages where scar jumping would be applicable in brawl+, and with the ability to grab the ledge backwards, wall jumping off the edge for edgeguards has become somewhat useful (if you were hanging on the ledge and wanted to edgeguard with fair instead for instance).

It's one line and it's useful for brawl+. It's not trying to make melee 2.0, it's using all of our options (including mechanics that were in melee) to make brawl a better game. That includes using things from melee that would benefit brawl+

Hey guy, I was wondering... Are you gonna make something like a code that makes brawl+ unique?? Because, even when the game itself is much funnier now... All the codes seems to be pointing to get back things that were in other smash games. I think that making a code with properties that never existed in smash games before would be the best way to point out that brawl+ is not melee 2.0.

^^That's...really hard.

I mean, we had a few talks about tech jumping in another topic, but I really think that kind of thing should be on the back burner. We have no idea how new mechanics could potentially effect the balance of the game, so if we do implement any new mechanics, it would likely be much later in brawl+'s lifespan (after countless hours of debate on what the new mechanic should actually do and how to balance the game around it, and after numerous codes trying to emulate exactly what we want).

Oh, I had no idea. I didn't know the code was one line, I didn't bother to check the OP! And better walljumping is better too, my bad. I still see it as a step towards Melee 2.0 though.

XFD. I've taken Brawl+ to 3 huge events now and posted player feedback here multiple times. What have you done? You couldn't even showcase Brawl+ to people at one simple tournament (note: it's easy) [/endrant]

For one, I'm assuming that you've been to tournaments before bringing Brawl+ to them? (Note: It's easy if you know the scenario) Either way, I had little knowledge of what to expect from the tournament scene. It was my first one, and I wasn't aware of the need to bring a t.v. Not only that, but the venue where the tournament was held generally has a crap ton of televisions that you can pay to use ($6 a night)-- I assumed those would be available, but they put them all away...

My initial point, in response to what you said about Scar jumping, was that you did SOUND like one of "those people." Perhaps you're ignorant of that. However, you sounded like one of "those people" who randomly came to a Brawl+ thread to flame Brawl+; crying that Brawl+ is actually Melee 2.0.

That was my point. It was not an attack, though you obviously perceived it as one. Why else would you "rant?"

Chill?

Edit: Sanuzi, how many times are you going to edit your single post? You've made yourself out to be more of an idiot with your most up-to-date post...

Let's not get hostile now. I didn't recognize you with new Avatar, what happened to Riku? Anyway, ya scarjumping is still pretty useless, but it will have it's uses from time to time. That and it's 1 line. I'm sure if we get cramped for lines, scarjumping will go pretty fast.

What code should I use if I want to try the momentum transfer?

I don't care if it's a bit buggy, I just want an idea of how does it fit in Brawl+.

Hey, the same bit can be said for his initial response to me . "No offense" loses it's meaning when you're hit when defacing insults after insult. Oh well, whatever. As for Riku, I felt like something new was in order. This wuffy is too cute to pass up anyways ^_^

Yup, that's exactly how I feel now; especially after Shanus knocked some sense into me :p

This.

On more important matters, pointless online banter aside, what's the status of the latest momentum code? Is the old one better? Has this code given momentum to characters that didn't get it before?
Last I heard, air dodging completely killed momentum... in a neutral melee-airdodge sort of way.

Nope. The first v4 (before the shortening edits) works perfectly. I have a pretty killer Beta3.3 w/ Char specific momentum which will come out some point soon.
