Oh, and to follow up on Meno's thingy, pick Cable, Storm, and Cyclops. Those are the only top tiers that I know of from that game, apparently they're hyper broken. :/

pick servbot, roll, and dan. Proceed to MASH EVERYTHING to win at mvc2.

I doubt kansas is going, really.

Oh, and GGs Zaj and Moblin. Mob, don't just mash out counters after getting hit, learn the weak spots in pressure strings and stick counters in the middle. Also, learn all your char specific stuff. And zaj, just keep moving with tao, don't stop. You have a habit I have of doing nothing when you plan to grab when people tech, so try to make it more seemless with the rest of the game. Oh, and learn combos for small characters too >.>

EDIT:

If you want to see me make hype out of thin air, watch this http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/2244962 I'm the bang

GGs to zajice and moblin.

I made shoutouts, and then my kitty edited them.

barrier more, get better internet, stop using the tackle super near the end of every match, and stop bursting supers10:24 PM 9/28/200910:24 PM 9/28/200910:24 PM 9/28/200910:24 PM 9/28/200910:24 PM 9/28/200910:24 PM 9/28/200910:24 PM 9/28/200910:24 PM 9/28/200910:24 PM 9/28/2009][[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrtttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt5tttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttthink~ that's bad for hakumen

----

I think it was supposed to be something like

Zajice- all that stuff before timestamp spam, don't IAD so predictably, be more confident/creative with your mix-ups, and stop going for grab every single time you think you have a chance. Also, learn more damaging combos. Nice job with what you did do, though!

ALSO, STOP BREAKING THE THROW LOOP!

Taokaka is, in my opinion, THE hardest character to throw loop. If I dun have you at just the right height, you can throw break and IAD backwards to get away. learn the spacing I need to maintain, and only break it when you see me mess up my spacing. Memorize what Carl's throw loop looks like on her. If it doesn't look kosher, THEN you can throw break. Otherwise, no go.

I think you can barrier more, but I can't remember for sure.

I dunno if I agree with Tim completely. Moving a lot is essential for Tao, buuuuuut sometimes you just have to stop, since you have liek... no priority. Learn the unsafe parts of the stage relevant to the characters you're fighting (above and in front of nirvana, the whole x axis of carl's iad, etc), and avoid them until you're sure they're too scurred to do anything.

Oh, and even though you dun do it much, DON'T get into the habit of using the claw special (not super) for pressure. One IB, and ggs, Tao.

Mobliin -

6a is THE anti-air, esp against Carl. Stop trying to use counter vs jump-ins. Also, IB>6d/super counter is the ****. Learn it ASAP. Learn to IB period, really.

Remember that you can slash projectiles and gain meter. Shurikens are a projectile, and so is Nirvana.

The clap is COMPLETELY air unblockable, and you have to faultless the fingernail srk. Be careful when approaching from the air, and DO NOT approach Carl if you can help it. If you have the life lead, force him to come to you. His dash sucks, so Carl pretty much has to approach from the air. That's when you 6a him and do some serious damage.

Also, stop wasting meter on RCing jabs, and using that kick to poke. You have waaaaaaaaay better pokes/ways to spend meter. Learn how to tk hotaru. That **** is nasty on wake-up. Use it for air-to-air battles, too. It has invul, so yeaaaaaaaaah.

Also, if you know how to combo into that HUUUUUUUGE super and you connect a hit on Nirvana, DO IT!

Seriously, it sucks fighting Haku without my sister. =( =( =(

And learn how to throwbreak>counter to get outta my loop. That's one of the reasons I don't get a free win against your character.

Actually, it's pretty much the only reason I don't.

Imma start looping you until you learn how to, as a heads-up. Watch out!

GGs to everyone. Tim already knows what I have to say to him. Jamz needs to fix that controller of his, I thought I was winning legit at first, and realized pretty quickly that he kept messing up crucial things.

sweet tony. I'll work on IB'ing whenever I play. I'm a scrub, I know, I still don't know what all the combo starters are, and those RC's on jab were probably on accident. >.>

A good thing to try while facing people, if you're in pressure, just keep trying to jump after blocking the first hit. If they hit you and you're airborne, then you know you found a gap big enough to counter. Casuals are all about learning!

And Flux, what did I say about you being OOS?!?!

Haaaaay.

Thanks for the advice guys. :D

Time for long post.

GGs to zajice and moblin.

What the hell? Your cat is smart. He can spam the date over and over.

Zajice- all that stuff before timestamp spam, don't IAD so predictably, be more confident/creative with your mix-ups, and stop going for grab every single time you think you have a chance. Also, learn more damaging combos. Nice job with what you did do, though!
I was more grabby against you since that's the only combo I can do against short stuff Carl right now. And I messed up every time I did it too. D:

The gist of any combos I CAN do were seen in that first match I did against Tim's Bang. Then after that, I got destroyed. I need to learn to deal with pressure...

The tackle super is kinda my "desperate for that last hit" move. I'm still not too confident in everything I do...

I dunno what the deal is with my internet. I've never been kicked from a match before, and my connection isn't normally red. I'll go tinker with settings later.

This stuff is good to know, since I currently know nothing about the Carl matchup. I just know that Carl is really really really small. And Tao dislikes small characters.

I think you can barrier more, but I can't remember for sure.
I currently have a problem associated with me using the xbox controller before. Grab and barrier were both on the right. With this fight pad, I only get 1 right shoulder button, and I currently have it set to grab.

The left bumper is set to RC and I also use it in conjuction with D to burst.

So that leaves barrier as a face button, which feels awkward. I know I can use A+B but that feels awkward too. I used to barrier a lot, but this fight pad kinda killed the habit. I'm gonna try and swap where grab and barrier are and get used to that. It seems like it'd be far more beneficial.

But if I had a stick this wouldn't be a problem... **** being poor.

Oh, and even though you dun do it much, DON'T get into the habit of using the claw special (not super) for pressure. One IB, and ggs, Tao.
Which one? The one in the air?

I've kinda got a bad habit of doing that already... ask Moblin.

Wow, the only people I recognize are Flux, Mike, Tony, Ferdi, and Yang. And Ferdi and Yang just came to bash brawl. Has it really been that long? Kind of feeling like looking at the smash scene again. I might even bring a few people who show promise. How often do we hold organized events and where is the most common focal point? Lol, Tony. Almost a decade later and that Ganondorf combo still makes me laugh. Kenny! Where the heck are ya? I'm in Aurora for a semester with nothing to do. If you're close by and you're up for some melee, I'll play you any time. Can't let the original founders of the CO smash crew wither and die can we? Reply to this or gimme a ring; we can get the rust off our controllers.

Hey flux. I helped found the original smash crew, but I never got into tournaments. I mostly played with Kenny, Kyle, Victor, and Tony whenever they were free. That's why you probably don't know me. I thought I met you at the tourney when AZ came to Colorado and Taj and Chaos Theory came to play with us. Maybe I was thinking about someone else, but the name rings a bell.

Would be impressive if there was talent at that tourney. There were about 5 good people there.

Edit: Idk why you are coming, it's gonna cost you guys to go, but if you don't mind then I guess that's your business. Also good luck finding people to MM you. Lol.

hahah, I'm sure I did something that's impossible for you, hahah and you use METAKNIGHT.
Put it on your resume dude, no one cares.

You've bailed on Colorado 4 times. I doubt anyone in Colorado respects you or your state. People here in Vegas talk so highly of you and I have no idea why. They don't understand because you didn't ditch them before. It's very much a hassle dealing with Utah, and you're the foundation.

How would anyone know the answers to your questions besides DTL? And he probably has things to do other than just check here. As for Aniki, you've got some homework now. Go to youtube and search for "aniki link", watch some videos, and tell me what you notice.
I'd forgotten how Melee looks, it's been so long. By the way, thanks for answering my question.

Wow...I've been busy. I just checked last few pages. Sorry mes...
K so I really would love to have people over for smash this weekend, as in Saturday. Bring your own controller. Um...no entrance fee, but we might do a small tournament if anyone is interested.
Anyone willing?
If I can get three people willing, I'll do it.

$10 says it's Sean. Either that, or one of Vic's friends.

Casuals are all about learning!
This. **** around until you find the right answer for everything. If you remember watching me play vs Tim last night, I ate the same combo like... 4 times in a row. I was trying different ways to get away from the whole situation. Tim does random stuff, too. Friendlies are for learning. P2W when it's tourney time.

I was more grabby against you since that's the only combo I can do against short stuff Carl right now. And I messed up every time I did it too. D:
Yeaaaaaah, but 100 damage from 2a is better than 0 damage and a baaaaad situation from a teched throw. Seriously, just do random hits instead. If I know you're gonna do it, it's not going to work, no matter how good it is. Well, unless it's an unblock or something I can't avoid. Buuuuuut regular grabs are neither.

The gist of any combos I CAN do were seen in that first match I did against Tim's Bang. Then after that, I got destroyed. I need to learn to deal with pressure...
If you're getting pressured, you already messed up. But yeah, learn to block/deal with pressure. A LOT of Tao's are really impatient with blocking, though, so it's not just you.

The tackle super is kinda my "desperate for that last hit" move. I'm still not too confident in everything I do...
Yeaaaaah

You should never have a desperation move in BB. Pretty much everything can be countered. With Tao's super, all they have to do is hold down, and then FAT ch combos galore.

I dunno what the deal is with my internet. I've never been kicked from a match before, and my connection isn't normally red. I'll go tinker with settings later.
Make sure you're connected via landline. Wireless ruins that.

This stuff is good to know, since I currently know nothing about the Carl matchup. I just know that Carl is really really really small. And Tao dislikes small characters.
I always prioritize learning universal combos first. Better to do okay against everyone instead of getting destroyed by one character just because you can't combo them.

Which one? The one in the air?
Nope. The ground claws. I think you can cancel into them off 5/6c, or something?

But yeah, X, no one actually believes Utah is showing anymore. Doesn't help that our smash scene mostly doesn't play smash anymore. Why didn't you win AZ if you took so many MMs?

Just wonderin'

I'm 95% sure I can make it. What time are you thinking?

You're welcome, but the correct answer to the homework was "he doesn't wavedash, oh my garr"
You want something answered right...

Thanks mom, I mean Mes, I'll be sure to give a **** about what you think next time.

I'M supposed to be the only argument inducing one >:0
It'll be ALL day. I'll have Brawl setup, but I would like someone to bring BB and a system as well as a gamecube. I have melee, but I can't play both in my wii...
So yeah, everyone needs to come to this. If need be, you can stay the night.
