well i'm active now, this was just based on before i moved up here

and i mean no hate by the criticism, but when this idea came up some of us said things like "none of us really care about it" but others said "yes we do, and we'll do the work to get it done" or whatever. it just seems like you guys are forcing something that not many of you care too much about since it took over a month for people to type up a short list and email it. also, while i think the list is pretty accurate, panelists may need to be more strictly chosen in the future. i dont know when the last time blackpanther played anybody outside of peoria, and little england hasnt left purdue since sgng2

i also think purdue should be not included in midwest grouping until those guys stop hosting tournaments the same days as tourneys 2 hours away and start going outside of their school instead of just waiting to see who comes to them. honestly it just displays a complete lack of unity and shows that their community overall has no concern for things like this
Of course I come in here quoting a post by BigD. To me, you always seem to downplay a lot of the things you say about others just to enhance your point (ie. 'over a month for people to type up a short list and email it', as if that is all making a PR entails). And I've been to more than half of the tournaments we used to make this. If you have a problem with the SSBOs you should look at some of the past attendants. (hint: Chicago comes fairly often)

Which brings me to this, the end of your post is just stupid.

Anthony (CKit) schedules every single tournament for the whole semester at the beginning of every semester! We give every other TO plenty of time to schedule their tournaments around ours if they choose. You just sound like an instigator for saying that we're just "waiting to see who comes to [us]". If we get a big crowd awesome. If we don't, so what. We still have lots of fun! ;) So to be frank, apparently you know nothing about our community.

The issue with traveling is I'm one of the few people with a car on the crew. I have been loaded down with homework i.e. 4-6 hours a night. Then I generally have hw to do on Sunday as well. So I'll take a large amount of the blame for no one traveling.

No no no. That is not the problem. I'd be fine if he said we should travel more. The problem is that he has a problem with us for no good reason and basically attacked us as shown:

"i also think purdue should be not included in midwest grouping until those guys stop hosting tournaments the same days as tourneys 2 hours away..."

here

"and start going outside of their school instead of just waiting to see who comes to them."

here (as if we're sitting back on our lazy boy couches fishing for chicago players)

"honestly it just displays a complete lack of unity and shows that their community overall has no concern for things like this"

and here

I am currently on the fence on how I feel about SSBOs. I do think its weird that they all play for money, but I don't think that they are a bad thing lol.

and yeah I guess its lame that you can just sit in purdue and get ranked, but thats not really purdues fault that chicago keeps going there. They are pretty dang fun too

Yeah, the point I see is it's not fair for Purdue to be included in a CHICAGO-LAND ranking when they... don't travel to Chicago-Land. The fact that Kels/Tink/Dart/etc sometimes travel to Purdue (or that the SSBO schedule is listed at the beginning of every semester) is irrelevant.

God I hate repeating myself. For the third time...

And come to think of it, I shouldn't care about this at all. Purdue people need to tell me to stop responding to posts like these. :c

edit/ ^^OMG It's like people don't even READ!

It was probably a challenge match, which we use to determine power rankings, so they weren't really friendlies.

I just don't get why there is so much hate. I personally have done my best to travel this semester. I went to a smashing grounds and SCSYN3. Real life gets in the way sometimes.

You purdue guys host so many damn tournaments. Stop it! You have like 2x as many as us. (Bi-weekly vs monthly?) How is chicago not supposed to come and take your money? And by Chicago I mean Kels and Tink. Saying Chicago makes me feel included.

Purdue does come hang out with us sometimes. (which is more than MI btw =P)

I have read everything. And I still haven't seen you acknowledge the fact that you guys don't travel enough to warrant inclusion on the Chicago-Land rankings. People will probably keep posting the same thing until you do.

I know. We suck at traveling. Just observing as a third party here... I think BigD brings up valid points all around.

There are no concise geographical constraints, therefore there is no such thing as traveling to Chicago-Land. Imagine this scenario the other way around. What if Purdue players traveled to Chicago once a month? Would there be a problem? Why or why not? Why is Kels, Tink, Dart, Vro, Rat, ORLY, Andale traveling to SSBOs irrelevant? Is it irrelevant when when Purdue travels to Chicago? Why or why not?

The fact that the SSBO schedule is listed at the beginning of every semester is COMPLETELY relevant. Its simple. Does [enter TO name] want a higher chance of Purdue to travel to their tournament? If yes schedule yours around ours. Do people just want us to cancel our tournaments and go to theirs? lol pretty unreasonable right?

True Facts: i travel to you guys because you CAN'T (or just don't want to) go to me chicago. Which i won't be able to anymore...i'm going to be limiting my tournaments by date and distance from now on like a normal person.

i'd also like people to recognize that i AM NOT FROM CHICAGO.

......did you even just form a legitimate thought?

lololol, if you did Drew wouldn't be mad and we wouldn't be having this conversation.
also the alternate reality that people like to theory bro. in doesnt matter because it's not real and you cant answer 100%. althought i can say with ut-most certainty that drew would not be *****ing about you guys not traveling if you were traveling.

you cant schedule around bi-weeklies. they cut-out exactly HALF OF ALL POSSIBLE DAYS.

no its not unreasonable, if you want to be part of the MW THEN TRAVEL AROUND THE MW.

that's Drew's point and is a completely valid one.

i gotta go to bed now, final in the AM.

dont take anything i say as a personal attack, its just that there is a reason you're the only person arguing your PoV.
