Ankoku, to be honest I'd set the minimum players required to at least 16 or 17.
13 people just seems TOO low; Imagine if there are 9 Metaknights (for example) out of 13 players...

Just an opinion.
well with 16 or 17 the number of meta's is just going to increase. bottom line is, right now MK is the most popular character, so the more people in the tournament means the higher probability of a greater number of metaknights.

im sure we dont have to imagine that at all, seems like some tourneys are already at that stage with metaknights/other characters lol

13 people in a $5 tourney (because that's usually the price with local tournaments at such low turnouts) = .40625 times as many points as a 16-man $10 tourney. It's all good.

The point is that it would be mathematically impossible for MK to not place in this situation, although I doubt there would ever be that many MK in a single, small tournament.

It's also mathematically impossible for Mew2King and Azen to not be somewhere in the top eight, if not top four, of any tournament they go to, but I'm not excluding those from the list. >_>

mario is quite capable in the right hands, the little guy is often overlooked but when you come across a guy who really fits marios playstyle watch out, that fat plumber can combo and gimp like crazy.
Any character is good in the right hands. But what this list tells us is that there are more metaknights in the right hands than marios.

What does that tell you?

no, metaknight doesnt have to be in the right hands, the only thing required to be good with metaknight is to just have 2 thumbs that can move just slightly enuf to hit the buttons on a GC controller.

How Zelda is beneath her counterparts, I don't know. o.o
29 Sheik/Zelda (2 top8, 3 top4, 1 top2) - 18.4 - 27
I don't like one of my mains in red (unless its DDD. he's sort of a ***** char. >.>) Quit Zelda and quit sheik. Sheik/Zelda owns. She's got a melee feel, no one has great practice against her, and its ****ing 2 on 1.

Ankoku! I used this website to calculate Luigi's points. I got 9.605. I'm not sure if I'm skipping something in the process of calculating but that's what Excel told me

hm, do you realize your logic rolls uphill? No one has practice against her, so everyone start using her. Then Sheik/Zelda will start rising up the list, perpetually, with no one thinking to start practicing against her...

OP, loose [/color] tag on Wario's entry.

I support random mains to get some recognition. Someone in my area placed 2nd in a tourney of about 20 people using random (at MOST1 in Kelowna, BC on August 16th -- results thread is not up yet).

Random should be a character.....It has the advantage of being hard to counterpick with stages and character but also has obvious weaknesses, just like a regular character.

On a side note...
I have been watching a lot of euro toruney's on youtube and man They are getting good....

I really do believe we should begin to add euro tourney's within the next 2 weeks......what do you guys think?

Random doesn't need a ranking because it's just a 37-sided dice roll.

Since this isn't a tier list, I think that it is worthwhile to see where Random ends up placing. It ALWAYS catches people off guard and yes, stage counterpicking is very difficult hahaha

Using random isn't just for kicks. Random is actually a good character to use if you win the first match-that is, if you're competent with all the characters. Your opponent CP a stage, and you pick random. They don't know who you're going to be, so they just have to use whoever they feel most comfortable with on that stage. They can't really pick a character that's good against the one that you're going to use. Unless they choose MK. >_> You at least get that benefit.

However, you're not representing random just because you select it on the character select screen - you're representing whichever character the game chooses for you.

Random does not need or deserve to be ranked. If you go random for an entire tournament then you simply used a lot of characters, basically to the point where the points should be split between them all. So rather than add .3 points to everyone, it's easier to just ignore the placing as it just shows a highly versatile player.

Anyone who replies to the above poster needs to learn when to simply ignore spam.
