G-reg was coming to Richmond and practicing with us occasionally alongside Chillin. G-reg is currently lost in the realm of LoL though. I don't think he's going to make a further competitive return.

And as long as I'm in Cactuar's Marth thread, I'd like to say that about 3 years ago when i was a scrub, he crushed my soul in Marth dittos so hard and for so long that I actually quit using that character as my secondary. Luckily now I secondary a way cooler character. Thank you Cactus.

No juans. Factors "influencing" the set are between me and Niko. And maybe a handful of others in OTG's car. lolol
It's too bad you weren't at your best, obviously I'd prefer that. I was playing great, I wish I played that well all the time. Or against Falco ever. Hopefully with some more PC training. Either way, was a big win for me.

Haha. It's all good. I'll make sure you get a chance to play actual me at some point.

And ya, I wish I could play well vs Falco consistently too. Make one mistake ever and get death combod. ****ing stupid character lolol.

Well I definitely felt more comfortable with Marth than Fox haha but I just missed a couple important grabs(especially vs his sheik because of small mis-timings/mis-spacings) due to nerves I feel.

Also for anyone wondering why I DI'd the dolphin slashers so badly it was because if he had used Fthrow and I DI'd in then he would have spiked/Fsmashed me and I hadn't adjusted to his little dash tricks to help clue me in to what he might do lol.

Also I as thinking about doing SH rising Fair to waveland instead of a double Fair as a sort of mixup with Marth for a long time now but always forget to use it when I play. Has anyone else used this with any success? I feel like it'd make the double Fair useful again which would be nice and allow for some more grab trick opportunities.

Lol I start every session with Twitch with Marth dittos so don't worry I'll keep playing this guy.

And maybe it's not fast enough on block but possibly just past one's shielding range to where the second Fair could hit? That's still pretty threatening from a waveland grab distance I think. I mean you may not even have to grab after the waveland because Marth getting close to anyone tends to make them freak out lol so you could probably just waveland then chase the roll/jump unless they got scared and got stuck in their shield.

Just throwin ideas around. =p

Zelgadis does the raising Fair > waveland. I always feel like an idiot when he wavelands forward and I get grabbed waiting to block the second fair.

I think I jump oos and hit the other Marth when they do a rising Fair on me. The second fair's arc comes out so late that you can do a rising aerial into them and yours will hit before their Fair, even if they start their fair before you start aerial (fair, uair, nair).

Even if it's not directly on your shield/in your space?

Besides the reason the waveland would happen would be to keep counters like that from happening. Then when people quit trying to punish the second Fair and go for trying to move in on you when you waveland or something/look for patterns to exploit and you just Fair again it could hit or at least trip them up.

If no one likes it that's okay but I'll probably mess with it regardless.

Waveland dtilt? what a funny idea haha

If it's done on your shield you definitely can fair back. If they fair just outside your shield that'd be interesting because it's going to take a little extra time to cover the ground to get there but you don't have any shield stun to deal with either. I really don't know how that'd go.

I sometimes use Rising Fair in front of 'em>Waveland forward and grab behind them. It works pretty fine in dittos 'cause they freak out and stand in shield to see what the **** are you doing. You gotta be flashy though. I mean, not a problem for PP.

i'll do that more when i end up playing this week, kevin
and see how/if it works

i remember taj saying something about it a while back
saying that he never remembers to do it on purpose
and he has never done it on purpose in a match

but every time he does it, it works out beautifully

Yo, I'm getting serious in Melee now, since I need a reason to stay in the Smash scene. I'm the main TO for New Orleans, so I can't leave my guys hanging with no events. >> With that said, if I'm going to play a game, I'm not going to be bad at it. =p

If, you had to take Marth as a character, and distill him up into ten main techniques/methods/focal points, what would they be?

1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfBuAo_Bfvw
2. CROUCH CANCELING. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, LEARN HOW TO CC GRAB. Conversely, learn how to not get CC'd, because Marth gets punished hardcore by CC shines and CC grabs.
3. Baiting
4. Edgeguarding
5. Movement
6. WD back -> jab/utilt/f-tilt. Generally, just knowing when to stay on the ground and spam ground priority (jabs, dtilts, tilts, occasional forward Bs) and when to use aerials, since Marth sucks when he trades in the air
7. Learning your aerial weak points
8. Learning how to not approach and being able to identify when you can approach
9. Learning how to not get hit when you try to approach (this goes hand in hand with 1 and 2)
10. Johning about Sheik

I am one of the biggest Lucien fanboys ever outside of Norcal, so I strongly advise you to watch the #1 and think over it extensively. I personally think it goes hand in hand with everything I listed aside from edgeguarding.

@Booshk: Don't touch any buttons or get hit, and eventually Marth will flip his hair. It will be so sexy that Samus will have to take her clothes off.
