By reading the first post I just remembered the dream I had this night. I was myself but I was really strong and invincible. Some thiefs entered in my house and I destroyed their faces WITH the wall behind.

Later in my dream I had the whole miliraty army against me, a bit like gta4 when you have 6 stars. Yeah, it was a pretty lucid dream

Lucid Dreaming!? o_0

I didn't even know it was possible, not unless a person was specially gifted with it and able to control it such as psychics (who are mostly phony), but I didn't know anybody could have the potential to Lucid Dream

Heh, an earlier post reminded me of this thought:
I never thought that people could not lucid dream. I always thought it was normal among people to have about one or two. I guess I was somewhat wrong:laugh:
Dream diary?Hmm..... Maybe I'll make one. Probably not, though.
By the way, even if I do lucid dream. It takes all the dream strength just to teleport or something to that effect. For me, at least. I don't know about you guys. How hard is it for you?

Another dream I had.
I was in my third grade classroom(a long time ago) and a bear suddenly attcked. It was HUGE!*Number 1: Unrealistic bears with an unrealistic size* I ran out of the classroom and down the hall. Everything was on fire. There was a giant pendulum above the main entrance, swinging.....
I imagined a bridge of light, walked up there, and there was a platform with a (brace yourselves) leprachaun on it.*Number 2: Leprachauns? Bridges?* I had to push three Switches. One would bring me home. I pushed the right switch, a door opened, and I left .

Pretty weird, huh?
... leprachauns.

Yes, it is possible... somehow.

I think that the film the matrix has it right, your brain is powerfull and makes it real. Like if you are falling in your dream and you dont wake up just before hit the ground you die. It's possible that the shock makes your heart stop. Maby this is how people die in ther sleep.
I've fallen off a cliff or some type of tall structure in a dream before! I hit the ground and felt a sort of shockwave go through my body originating from my stomach. It hurt a lot but then I blacked out...I guess I died in my dream or something? I then "willed" myself back alive and was in a race car trying to run over tiny men in potato suits.

Ha, potato suits.

By the way, has anyone ever had a dream so sad it's made you cry? Just wondering.

yes. in most of my dreams i begin to alter about midway through... though... you have to be really careful, because if you bend the dream too much, you'll wake up.

generally, in the dream something will be happening that i don't want to happen. then i semi-realize/remember that if i concentrate on a different possibility, that possibility will occur instead.

i learned this some time ago, that whatever you think could happen in your dream is exactly what happens. so if you're running away from something, and thinking what might happen if you're caught, or if you'll be caught, etc... then you WILL be caught.

in this way, you can pretty much ben the dream however you wish... but remember that too much alteration on the fabric of the reality of your dream will result in you waking up, so try to keep the possibilities you dwell on within the realm of the dream.

By the way, has anyone ever had a dream so sad it's made you cry? Just wondering.
not personal dreams. sometimes i will have "outside" dreams that do not involve me at all, but rather involve completely unrelated subjects and characters. these are generally pretty tragic :p... but then again, i've never really cried for one. i think it's the very subtle, personal dreams that make you cry. when i was a kid, i had a very short dream where i slipped into the trunk of a red sports car while my mom and i were at the grocery store and got accidentally kidnapped. this dream terrified me for a couple years until i got to elementary school. another dream semi recently caused me to cry... it was extremely subtle... and also at the time, i was pretty depressed (not anymore), which added to it.

I taught myself to Lucid Dream in eighth grade. Since then, I've had erratic sleeping, sleep paralysis, and insomnia. No idea if they are linked, but they started at the same time. That said, it's not very hard to do. First, get a notebook and write down all your dreams for about 2 weeks to a month. EVERYTHING. Then, start to look at patterns in your dreams that signifies it's a dream. As you do this your recollection will improve. Then you'll start noticing lights do not work in dreams, neither do clocks, or mirrors, and all books are empty. Those are your triggers. From that point, just repeat to yourself: "Whatever happens next is a dream" After a while, it'll come quite easy.
Woah. O_O

That's interesting.

I've never had a lucid dream before in my life, so I might use this advice, but considering the side effects, probably not.

Okay my 2 cent:
I also have huge sleep paralysis problems (my longest was something like 45 mins) and a lot of trouble sleeping (I don't know what erratic dream means though.) It may be connected, Idk.

I heard about those lights, clocks, mirror not working as well as "you can't read in a dream", but I swear everything mentionned is false in my case. I often read in a dream, I often check myself in a mirror and there are lights and shadows.

What makes me think it's a dream is the fact I can't move as fast in a dream as IRL. I move as fast as if I was in water when it comes to punch somebody or run. Also, when I fly I don't control myself at all. I move like an airplane made of paper: upward, then I crash. when I try too much to control my flight it wakes me up.

I was able to manipulate my dream once, at the time i had some problems with nightmares. During one though i was able to change it into something completely different, i was able to freeze time and change the scenery and everything. Funny to because I haven't had a nightmare since. I usually forget my dreams as well, but this one i can remember quite well.

I just decided to do it.

Where, exactly, do you repeat, "Whatever happens next is a dream?" Sorry, I'm confused about that part. =P

I once had a dream where I was playing Zelda 64. (well, more like BEING zelda 64)
Well anyways, near the end of the dream I was in Death Mountain, Staring at one of those Magic Bean Soil Patches.

When I woke up, I wondered if that Soil patch was actually there, so I went in Death mountain and there it was, the exact place it was in my dream.

When I used planted the bean on the patch, a pad grew and flew me to the Heart Container.
Oh, and this was the one heart piece in the game I didn't have. The one that was on top of a stalagmite, out of reach. The one I wondered how to get for so long.

And this was back when I wasn't aware of the internet.

I frequently experience lucid dreams at least once a week, and I have been since I was, say, 15...? Pretty neat stuff. For me (I don't know if this works in general), anything that relates to your physical appearance or the real world wakes me up. As CK said earlier, clocks and mirrors are good examples of this. I've sort of trained myself over time to just notice(?) that those things just don't exist in the dream worlds. That or I just don't see them. I find that I have a better chance of getting one through if I:
1) Have had a particularly eventful/exciting day, physically and/or mentally.
2) Have my mind racing while I'm laying in bed, up to the moment I fall asleep.

Everytime I dream I am aware I'm dreaming but I let the dream roll by anyways. My dreams are so good that I don't even need to go to the movies anymore. Sometimes I don't even dream about people that are like me. The only problem is that I can't remember them.

Last night I had a weird dream where a cat fused into my body and took over my mind. It was really creepy cause I could "feel" inside my body and touch the cat's "body". For the first five minutes after I woke up I believed the world I was in was an illusion created by the cat's mind or something.

I have lucid dreaming alot too. When I'm having a good dream, I try to let it continue to see what happens next =3 It's like reading a story. But I don't usually TRY to lucid dream or force myself to realize I'm dreaming ... it kinda just happens on its own (I suddenly become aware that I'm dreaming without forcing myself to) ... sometimes it's fun, but other times I panic upon realization and either wake up or try to wake up. idunno, it's weird.

For those with sleep paralysis experience: is lucid dreaming connected to sleep paralysis? I've had problems with frequent sleep paralysis since I was very young, and I guess I'm sorta used to it, but sometimes it still freaks me out (when I hear voices or feel someone touch me). I've just been living with it, but is there a good way to cope with these episodes?

Also, sometimes I can control what's going on around me during sleep paralysis, but it's much harder than when lucid dreaming. (for me, sleep paralysis usually only occurs while falling asleep, and lucid dreaming occurs while I'm already asleep and dreaming).

I'm trying a method called the reality check method. Every 30 minutes irl just try to lift something up with your mind. I know it sounds dumb but bear with me. If you keep doing this every 30 min, you'll do it in your dreams out of force of habit. It won't work in real life but when you try it in your dream it will. I can't vouch for its success, but I'm trying it.

I was sleeping in a tent with 4 people last night, and I brought up a huge conversation about lucid dreaming. When I fell asleep, I realized I was dreaming and thus I could lucid dream. It was fun.

Usually in LDs, I can't fly. I usually Hulk-jump around, but gravity is still there with some standard. lol, I'll even think, "Why is there gravity? I'm freakin' dreaming!" but I can't ever get it to just leave. After I saw Ironman, though, I've flown around with the shoe part of his suit. I guess physics exists in my dreams, but lax enough to let me use jet-boots. :) ...which rox, btw.

I had a strange dream a few nights ago. I dreamt that I was lucid dreaming. No, I wasn't actually lucid dreaming, I DREAMT that I was. I was thinking of all these stupid weird things I wanted to happen, and that I was controlling a world of my own, except for everything I wished for was something stupid and I would never have wished for it.

I then "woke up" and told my grandparents that I had a lucid dream. Then I woke up from THAT dream. Really weird.

Meh. I've done it a few times, but not on purpose. Generally I suddenly think "This is a dream!" and then "And this dream sucks, so I want another one!".

Another dream comes, and that's the end of that. I would like to have more control over my dreams.

I have had a dream in the exact same fashion as this. However, I cannot recall for the life of me what that dream was, nor can I remember what question it answered for me.

But lemme tell you, it's one of the strangest feelings in the world. You go to sleep one night, not necessarily thinking about the question in particular. You have some sort of psychic vision and suddenly the question is answered in the dream. You wake up, and then decide to test your dream, and by the gods it actually rings true.

I swear to god, before I had the dream I had no idea what the answer was at all. I vaguely remember searching on the internet but getting absolutely no help.

Can anyone logically explain this? Is it just our brains going "lol, here it is" subconciously?

A lot of people get it. I don't know exactly what the cause of it is, but it's still pretty cool.

I can never remember my dreams... either that or I don't have them. On rare occasions, I can remember I had a dream, but not be able to remember the details though.
I can remember once that I realized I was dreaming and instantly woke up.
I'd like to teach myself to Lucid dream, but seeing as how I don't dream much, I don't think it'll work that well.... XD

You will be able to learn all these great skills in your dreams but then forget them when you wake up.
Nice.

Idk if this is Lucid Dreaming, but last night I had a weird dream where I was being followed by my ex-girlfriend who I try to avoid, but she didn't realize I was nearby and as soon as I saw her in sight, I actually was able to control my movement in my dream and decided to further myself away from her which btw I have never, ever done before.
