Well, it pisses me off how I try and my hands are literally trembling from the excitement of getting my first nuke and then some ******* with Akimbo Rangers/n00btubes blasts me off my ****ing feet

Also, is this a good class?

Barret /w Silencer
SPAS /w Silencer
Claymore/Stuns
Scavenger
Stopping Power
Steady Aim

Or would I benefit more of not having silencer on my barret and more on the thermal scope?

Btw, I put SPAS with silencer for the hell of it since it doesn't seem to affect my gameplay at all
If you want to use a silencer on a gun and still use Stopping Power, you should use the Wazoo due to it having the same OSK/2SK hits as the silencer Barrett with SP but faster shot time. I'd recommend just taking off the silencer though and using another attachment (thermal or HBS, map depending).

Either take the silencer off the SPAS (which nerfs the greatest part about the SPAS, its range), or better yet, switch to a secondary which switches out faster (I prefer G18s, but rafficas are probably best). Rest looks fine, except I'd really recommend switching out steady aim for something more useful (either commando or ninja for this class).

Never tell people to use a thermal. It makes your testes shrivel up and turn into dust <_<

Seriously.

I hate thermal snipers almost as much as I hate noobtubers.

Why would he not recommend thermal just because you don't like it? Doesn't change the fact that it's effective.

I forgot to put why.

Thermals, imo, cripple your regular sniping if you use it too much. I remember back when I first got MW2 I used thermal for like 2 months, went back to regular sniping, I couldn't kil **** :L

What the **** kind of logic is that? If you kill well with Thermal, why would you switch?

Carbine is still my favorite gun in this game. I don't wanna hear a long response on how the ACR is better, I know. But it's still one of my favorites. And I have to prestige just to realize that. FAL, F2000, Carbine, Mini Uzi, just some of my "most used".

Man, I got into a random lobby today and saw all this air support and wondered how it was possible and it turns out it was a challenge lobby. I left before I could get a kill and get everything. Apparently there are a lot of these lobbies in ground war. Anyone else gotten into one accidentally? If so which game type?

Cuz I don't need anything to boost what I do (besides perks) when I can do it without the attachment and not get called gay for doing it.

It's like planking. It works, but it's gay.

So, I was playing Barebones Pro (FFA only, I've come to absolutely hate team based game types), and my friend and I were playing against several Tac-Knifers. They were all using the... M9/USP .45 Tac Knife along with Throwing Knives. My friend and I, along with this other dude, were the only ones actually using guns.

Now, this lobby had an extremely large potential for pissing me off. It sure pissed my friend off (and me, to a much larger extent because tac-knives are stupid). Anyway, I was just aiming for Marathon/Lightweight Pro, so I was running around with a silenced UMP (and Commando. Sorry Ninja, but Commando is ohsomuch useful to me).

In the three games I was with the tac-knifers, my friend won the first one (I was second, I had 28 kills, two kills behind him). The second one I won by a margin; I had 30 kills, with the second place person having... I think it was 24 kills. This person was one of the tac-knifers and I apparently piss him off. In this lobby, because I was winning by a lot, I decided to find him exclusively and knife him with my own Magnum just to be an ***. Well, in the third game, he was winning, he had 29 kills, and I pulled off some miracle and got my last 5 kills (was at 25 kills) with my UMP. My friend says that he doesn't want to play with tac-knifers anymore, and he leaves.

So while we're waiting to join another game, I jokingly tell him that the guy who was in second place is probably pissed off because we've stopped him from winning a few times. Well, a few minutes later, I got a message from him. Want to know what it said?

Apparently I'm a '***' for tac-knifing. This is coming from a tac-knifer...

I virtually never knife, but if I had to choose what to use while knifing, it'd be akimbo USPs and commando. They knife really quickly, not quite as quickly as a tac knife does, but you get a good lunge in most of the time. Just a personal preference, but drop shotting > knifing. Also, getting knifed is the most annoying way to die in my opinion, especially when I'm sound whoring and someone still knifes me. I gave up on knifing for the soul reason that whenever I'd knife, I would literally miss the person and they'd turn around and shoot/knife me back. You don't have too much control over it, which is what I don't like about it. I like infinity ward's logic, though. You're carrying a Tar21 with extended magazines in war and you run up to knife someone instead, makes perfect sense.:psycho:

You're so self-conscious. Who cares what people say? If it kills them, they'll complain about it. I for one hate getting killed by a UMP and everytime I watch the killcam and see "Lightweight" I just rage and call the guy a tryhard. Doesn't mean I have anything against him, it's just annoying that he's trying his heart out in pubs where I'm going for silly kills. You're purposely gimping yourself all so randoms might accept you. Seriously though, how is it gay? There's so much to combat it in the first place, it's not even funny.

No matter how you kill people, they'll say it's gay or stupid. They'll complain about the gun, the attachment, the perks, their teammates, etc, just to try and justify their death. It all comes down to the fact that no matter how you kill people, they'll call it stupid. I'll probably get flamed for this, but there's a way around everything in this game believe it or not. I've been playing these games for a ****ing long time to realize that no matter what it may seem like, there's an aspect of balance to everything. Players are just too ignorant to think about these things and instead rant and rave about how the guy with the heart beat sensor killed them just because he had the stupid thing equipped. Who says you couldn't use ninja? It's part of the game. I dislike tons of things about the game, and get angry as well, but I know that a lot of my deaths are my own error. Your perk and gun setup isn't always going to be the best to kill someone camping in the back with a sniper, for example, but that's the point of the game having variety, you can choose what style of play you have and that determines what players you kill. So, if someone uses thermal, slap on cold blooded and find a way to kill them, it's an obvious yet effective counter.

BKP with one of the better posts in the thread. I agree with everything.

If you get killed by Thermal, Cold Blooded and SitRep exist for you to rush them with. If you get noob tubed, try a Blast Shield. If you get spawn killed, go with Painkiller.

Agree 100%. I love being a thermal/Barrett try-hard and destroying all those lame Intervention users only to hear them whine, makes me feel even better.

That's pretty lame for an after game message. I remember when I was playing SnD with Rr and Manic last month, I was using the HBS with my silenced SCAR-H and I kept on killing this guy with it. After the game, he send me a lovely message calling me a "HBS *****". I laughed.

And I use whatever works. Anything is considered cheap in a video game if you kill someone with it. If you go on a 30 kill streak with the M9, it's considered "cheap". I don't care what other people think about how I play.

He's lucky I didn't bring my AA-12 with me. That thing eats knifers alive, IMO.

So do Blast Shields actually help against Danger Close noobtubes, or will you die if the noobtubes hit near you regardless?

I accidentally put Silencer on my SPAS. I meant to put Grip on the class description.

And why the hell would you go back to normal scope when you have the Thermal on the **** gun? I mean, yeah for a ****ty gun like the Uzi (I actually killed someone who had it :urg:), but not for a sniper. And I don't want to get rid of the Barett anyways. I spent too much **** time trying to get kills with an ACOG for me not to use it and not get a reward for it besides a challenge

Say, Fletch, could you do a test to confirm if the SPAS does have a slightly faster reload if it has the Grip? I'm gonna; be testing it myself right now.

Grip isn't much use, really. The SPAS is pump-action, which gives it time for any recoil it might suffer to settle again. It's great on, say, the AA-12 and Striker, because they actually fire fast enough for it to make a difference, but there's no need for it on the SPAS. I suppose the decreased visual recoil is a somewhat better option than the optics and silencer, though.

There isn't much of a reason, but people will complain a lot if you use Thermal. And you're generally caught out by Cold Blooded users a lot more than just camouflaged people without a T. sight.

What would be a better attachment for my SPAS

I USED to care about what people said, but then I stopped caring. Though I do complain often about other people being gay using something like Commando, that's usually because I'm raging really hard over dying and losing a killstreak

Trust me, if you have a blast shield on, you'll find yourself tanking explosives like it's your job. No one really uses it, but if you're playing against people who are tubing, you might as well give it a shot because it works like a charm for me. It's also good for domination. Throw some smoke on a flag, lay down and slap on blast shield. No more worrying about getting hit from a semtex, basically a free flag cap. Of course you can still die by explosives with it, but it'll take tons of hits, trust me. I was playing with a guy with a riot shield who was running around with blast shield seeing as our team was tubing, and I hit him with 2 danger close tubes and an RPG and he still lived. :urg:

Edit @ Roach: FMJ is broken on the spas and grip doesn't do anything but decrease the animation time when switching out to it by a little bit. Your best bet is to go with extended mags, but I've also heard some theory about holographic on the spas making the maximum range longer or something, which I'm going to test out. I'd say extended mags for now, though.

I don't think you should be able to press down a button and kill someone in one hit from a melee attack. I don't think that there should be a perk that already takes a game breaking element like a one hit kill from a melee attack in a FPS, and makes it even more broken.

Just my two cents. The fact that you have a one-hit kill melee attack in a first-person shooter is ********. Commando is just gay.

Ext. Mags is the only good attachment to throw on the SPAS.

I don't have internet right now at home and thus no access to custom classes, but I can all but confirm this isn't true. What you're probably seeing is the animation difference, as when the grip is attached the character doesn't take his hand off the grip to pump. It's still the same speed though.

Holo does not glitch the SPAS unfortunately.

As soon as I get back, I'm going on the other team and going MLC on you all day.

Well, if you're out of ammo for all your weapons, it's either kill yourself or get a melee attack

Q: Has anybody ever shot down a care package helicopter? I was messing around with my stinger and I got a couple of beeps aiming at it, but it was too fast for me and it left. Is it even possible to do it? If so, how many points do you get for it?

What if you run out of bullets? Are you simply going to run away since you have no knife, or would you rather have a knife to defend yourself?

And yes, Roach, it's possible to shoot down one. I remember one time when I took down a pavelow with a semtex. Some crazy glitch sh*t right there.

I've shot them down before, I think you get about 50 points for shooting one down. I'm not sure though as I haven't played MW2 in months, but I do getting a small amount of points. It's kinda pointless since you don't get much points for it and the enemy will probably get their package assuming they aren't killed, but it is funny shooting one down.

I DO agree that they could make the knife a tad bit less broken. Perhaps make it like CoD1 where you use the butt of your gun and it takes several hits to kill someone or something. But then, it'd be pretty useless then...

Perhaps just make it a 2HKO like the Riot Shield

EDIT:

Lol, I have to try to take down the care package helicopter XD

Also, pssh I've shot down a Pavelow wiht just shooting my gun

I used up all my RPD bullets, but it was worth it whne I ran out of ammo.

Also, the chopper gunner pilot has to be blind or something because it drives horribly

The planes that drop care packages have 500 health and you can destroy it before it drops anything, but it is pretty difficult.

Let me ask, how do you become a good sniper? I recognize the beauty of snipers, but it bothers me that:

A) My aim is horrible where I shoot BESIDE the person, or I take too much time shooting so the person leaves
B) I don't know any good sniping spots

Sniping is all about knowing where people generally come from and holding a clear view of these points, unless of course you wanna go round like a hero and quickscope people.

Just don't panic when you get someone in your sights(and use the 50 cal)

I don't really panic when I see someone, I just really have bad aim.

And a big no no with teh 50 cal. I like Barett better because of how you can shoot faster with it.

Also, what's the big deal with Akimbo Rangers? I see everybody run around with them. Are they really that good or am I missing something?

I don't get it, you're saying "no no" to the .50 cal, and then saying you like Barrett better? The Barrett IS the .50 cal (full name: Barret .50 Caliber). Unless I'm misunderstanding you...

And to snipe better, just like Megatron said, you gotta know where enemies are coming from/spawning and find a good place that gives you cover and a clear shot. Oh, and don't always be scoped it as it limits your view.

I'd recommend Sleight of Hand Pro, Stopping Power and Steady Aim/Ninja for your Barrett. As for your attachments, either FMJ or Thermal.

50 Cal = Barrett

And akimbo rangers aren't that great, only good at very close range. SPAS is better.

THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS.

If you're using a Riot Shield and it requires a two hit kill, why shouldn't a knife? You have near invincibility when Commando lunging, so in the end, what's the big difference? I do think it'd be pretty strange having a 2-Hit KO Knife, but I'd definitely consider it less broken.
