OMA Danger Close noobtubes DO include Claymores for defense though. Danger Close claymores are kind of ridiculous.

So do semtex completely outclass frags?

Semtex look kooler, have a bigger blast radius and just own. Sure you can throw frags farther and cook them, but they are way harder to get kills with, for me at least. The problem with frags is that you can throw them in a room and they roll around, whereas semtex would stick in the middle of the room, killing anyone inside.

Semtex grenades are better.

INCREDIBLE RAGE WHEN ICY STEALS MY GAME WINNING KILL CAM CHALLENGES.

I've been ****** with the Rangers these days. I believe they're my favorite shotguns. They're so GOOD when you use them intelligently and not spam all 4 shots at every person you see. Take it one shot at a time, only using one side at a time, and you'll never get caught reloading ever. Sooooooooooooooooooooo goooooooooooooooooood.
Yeah, you don't need stopping power at all with them seeing as 1 shot is always a 1 hit kill pretty much, and you don't need to shoot 2 unless you're somewhat unsure about how far away they are. I put them as a secondary on my rushing class with my UMP, perfect combination. And whoever was talking about nukes, I used to go for them a lot, not so much anymore, but I had a good setup. Get your first 5 kills doing whatever, then switch to a class with hardline for the 6th kill, or you can just get up to 11 kills and then switch to something with danger close pro which is what I would do sometimes. Danger close pro on chopper gunners is absurdly stupid. When I was going for my first 10 nukes, I threw my controller at my wall and broke it. Only thing to say about nukes is you better hope they don't shoot down air support.

You want the long answer or the short answer? Semtex are definitely better.

Semtex have a larger blast radius and do more damage. Barring that obvious advantage, sticking is much more useful than being able to bounce shots. Semtex is better for riot shield users, and also useful for sticking to teammates in Core to get kills. Semtex also cannot be thrown back, and can be thrown further than frags. Frags can be cooked yes, but Semtex have a shorter fuse anyways, and are usually much better for getting quick grenades off than the Frags.

Frags are just too situational to be regularly used.

People rely a little too much on air support, haha.

If you want some laughs (COD related), you could go to the GameFAQs COD board.

Yes, frags are bad. Not the amazing grenade I once loved in COD4, that you could chuck over buildings...

I've been actually PLAYING the game, instead of talking about it.

FFA is stupid easy. 30-1 on Afghan with a Pave Low in the air, and 2 Chopper Gunners and an additional Pave Low waiting.

If I only played FFA, I could easily maintain a 3-1 K/D. The only annoyance is boosters. But bringing justice is delightful.

I suck at FFA. I always go positive in them, but I never kill fast enough... what's your secret?

If they took tactical insertions out of FFA, it would be my favorite game mode, and probably a lot of other peoples' as well. But every time I join a game and I see air support in the air, I almost don't even have to look to tell that people are boosting. Sometimes even half of the lobby is doing it, and it's not fun at all. Then the rest of the game you end up trying to find them and kill them. Domination, TDM, and S&D for me until that gets taken care of, which is never going to happen. I've been playing Barebones lately, and I really like it. I don't ever have to worry about air support, and people have no incentive to camp. I still think they should have made it so weapons have no attachments/perks, but it's still fun.

... you're already trying for a nuke and got two kills away? You guys take this way too seriously. =P

Actually, BKPro, a lot of people have been using Barebones to boost in because you can enter as a party in it. You have to be extra vigilant when going in there. Makes booster hunting look almost like a part-time job. :)

Anyway, about fifteen or so kills away from AK Mastery and Mastery for all the ARs. Then I'll move on to the LMGs - I've been neglecting the MG4 lately, poor thing.

-Run around the exterior of the map, people are more likely to spawn near you.
-While passing through, lay Claymores in doors of common routes.
-Scavenger.
-Silenced TAR-21.
-Ninja Pro.
-7/9/11 (Harrier/Pave Low/Chopper Gunner) killstreak layout.

This is basically what I do every game, works really well most of the time.

That's pretty much the best FFA setup, unless you want a different gun of course. You can also use 5/7/9 or 5/7/11 killstreaks effectively in FFA, seeing as people don't shoot down air support all that much and the predator missile is easier to get. If you have a headset in FFA, you're pretty much golden. I hear people coming from a mile away, and I always greet them with some nice akimbo rangers when they come into my area. Also, whenever I play, I immediately look at the score for boosters. It's easy to hear tac insertions being put down and if you see a guy that knifes/headshots the same person over and over, start looking. But besides that, if you patrol an area with a claymore, you'll soon find yourself to be a very successful FFA player. Only problem is that sometimes you don't see too many people and end up losing only because you couldn't get enough kills. If you run around constantly in FFA, you'll get tons of kills due to the bad spawn system, and you'll also get killed a fair amount yourself. Just depends on the players.

I don't understand how you have fun playing like that.

In fact, I hate using air support in general because it's the planes and helicopter pilots that won the game, not me.

It's not the only way I play, and I have a lot of fun winning. It's not like I'm camping. And it generally gets fast-paced. If the other players in a FFA are good, air support won't last long. Fortunately, most of them suck. On average, my air support will get me anywhere from 1/3-1/2 of my kills in a FFA. Sometimes, I wish they lasted longer. But getting 30 kills in three minutes is really fun.

Fun is completely subjective. For example, I don't enjoy getting "exciting killcams" or quickscoping in public lobbies, something I believe you said you enjoy doing. I do it in private matches frequently, when there's no repercussion for failure, but in public matches, it's only about getting the kill.

I agree with this.

F2000 and FAL are my new favorite weapons, get at my odd obsession.

I almost had another nuke... again... before it was stolen from me T_T
Don't TRY for a Nuke, just let things flow. During the match, things will come into place, and it'll happen. Of course there's bull****, but you can expect that from this game.

Well, it pisses me off how I try and my hands are literally trembling from the excitement of getting my first nuke and then some ******* with Akimbo Rangers/n00btubes blasts me off my ****ing feet

Also, is this a good class?

Barret /w Silencer
SPAS /w Silencer
Claymore/Stuns
Scavenger
Stopping Power
Steady Aim

Or would I benefit more of not having silencer on my barret and more on the thermal scope?

Btw, I put SPAS with silencer for the hell of it since it doesn't seem to affect my gameplay at all

What I usually do when I'm close to a nuke is take a few deep breaths, calm down, and find a nice corner to hide in. Once some unlucky soul comes through, kill him silently, and he should come back for more. Hide in a nearby corner in view of the recent one you were in, and when he checks the old spot, kill him again. IF THAT HELPS! @_________@

And don't use a Silenced Sniper unless you're playing Hardcore, otherwise it'll be hitmarker central. Although, I think with a .50 Cal, Silenced, with SP, it's still a OHKO above the chest.

So should I put Thermal on my sniper then?

Also btw, the attachment on my SPAS is a grip, not a silencer if that changes anything

And I guess that's good advice, and all of my almost nukes were on Karachi, my new favorite map

Also, Claymores <3

Meh, I think there are better maps out there than Karachi, but not a whole lot considering a lot of the maps in MW2 suck. I'm hoping Black Ops is better than MW2 (which shouldn't be too hard).

Also, semtex <3
Fixed. ;)

So has there been any updates about the West and Zampella vs Activision trial?

Also guys, I'm sorry. I traded in my copy of MW2...But it was worth it.

I prefer claymores. A lot more fail with them. I got a killcam once where this guy ran into a claymore chasing my teammate that I put in the middle of the map by accident when trying to access my semtex when I remembered that I traded it in for a Claymore

And I like Karachi a lot

Most fun I've had in this game in awhile was today. (Got a new disc)

We put stealth classes on and laid prone until someone walked by us, in SnD, and then followed them around until they noticed us. Once they noticed us, they got knifed.

Care to tell us why? I think it's a pretty good map, it's balanced and easy to navigate.
That's the problem. I don't like maps that people can kill you from almost any angle. Unless you camp, it's a nightmare, and in Ground War, it's just asking to be noobtubed. Spawn Traps are gay if they're really easy, and whoever controls high ground usually wins.

I don't really have a good explanation as to why I don't like it, it just doesn't suit my playstyle, and Sniping is pretty much the only thing I can do to go positive in that map.

Karachi is decent but I don't think I would try and go for a nuke on it. Maybe I just suck at using it but I never seem to land kills on that map with my CG. Especially if everyone is already within one of the 10 different buildings. Invasion is the only other stage where I can get CG's very easily but get very little kills with it.

Granted, I have yet to get a nuke but I guess I'll equip it and just try and get one now.
