lol,no. You don't need tap jump on to JC shine, lol. Kuga, have you not played Melee? Overall the JC shine is amazing, and I believe it will play a good part into making Fox a deeper, better, and more fun character.

subliminalmockingofKuga
Hear hear. The JC Shine is the sole reason I'm picking up Fox. Without it, I find him a boring character to play.

MARTH NERF'S=WALL OF TEXT.
srsly if you're gonna melee marth at least do it right. don't nerf every single god**** attack then give him **** gravity that screws over his SH double Fair. And his edgegaurd. (The core of marth.) And if you're going to make him drop like bricks at least make him able to combo into a tilt or something or give him a sourspot spike so he can finish without a tipper. /rage

melee CF is melee.
I approve.
RESPONSE=WALL OF TEXT
srsly leik if ur gonna rant leik that at least leik do it right. obv find the right buffer (The core of brawl+) or lern2precision b4 u go on saying shdf is unpossible. also leik no one in teh wbr leiks to hold hands. they might leik get sick or sumthing. thats why were not gonna give u leik...a sourspot spike. and lern2uairutilt. /rage

barlw snake is a snake
i disapprove

Seriously, buffer son.

clinton, ness was no longer using infinte pkt1 in the set from 7-21 as well. to compensate, they made the end lag 5x faster so it's not as punishable.

basically, marth got KB nerfed in exchange for combo power up the wazoo. His throws have been sped up by quite a lot as well.
I'm aware of the 5x PKT ending lag...however, comparing that to what unlimited PKT1 had...Ness had it already at least for PKT1 and more...the only thing the lag drop helps is PKT2 (makes it safer on shields to a point) which really isn't saying much IMO (at least compare it to proper use of PKT2)

Anyway thanks for explaining Marth for me...

Ness can zap jump with aerials, pk fire, and maybe airdodge which is a much better buff to his recovery.
Have you actually tested the horizontal distance differences from vBrawl's stuff?

The only thing that really got a true good distance buff was PK Jump...and I've already given my opinion on Brawl+ PK Jump (distance is null and void compared to just a rising Fair in general...and the magnet pull you can do after it means nothing as well...hell it flies too far IMO because the advanced aerial PK moves could be used for offense and defense in vBrawl to some degree of good outcome...but here...Ness flies past his PK Fire if PK Jumping...and flies too far back IMO if Firebounding)

However, I do like the speed buffs on the PK Fire tricks overall I guess...

Also the Unlimited PKT1 did more than help his recovery, the move added to Ness' chase/pseudo combo game by allowing him to successfully use PKT1 while in the air and still after using it chase his foes down more (and more if he had his 2nd jump)

That little point I brought up right there...

Is far better than PKT2 being slightly safer (in offense and in landing)

The only thing PKT1 helps with recovery is prevention of stupid gimps (Shy guys, random moving platforms, other annoyances) and considering how Ness isn't the only one who has gotten some protection from stupid gimps (Lucario IMO) if recovery was the only reason it was taken out (because it didn't help much) it should be put back in because there was a lot more the move could be used for

You guys took out one of PKT2's issues with recovery that wasn't a big deal IMO...but overall you left it having the same main issues...I'm ok with PKT2 having the bulk of Ness' recovery issues...however I don't see why Ness should be killed or be limited in use by a ghost platform on YI brawl or a moving platform on Frigate

But again...my main issue with PKT1 losing that unlimited use was that it took away more than just a slightly safer recovery...

do anyone think it may still be possible for me to get brawl+ 4.2 because i don't like this version because of those pac file that mean if you create a new pac file mean you lose the brawl+ moveset.
if it possible, someone please link it to me

For the record, I only had the 7-21 nightly freshly installed with some added textures. I ran the updater, then downloaded/ran the updater update, and have had 0 problems.

So this is what you guys have been working on all this time huh Shanus. Good stuff. I'll let you know of any issues that occur. Having a fest manana with live stream if any of you guys are interested. I hope things aren't TOO different *_*. Ah well, see you guys manana.
There's a few frame speeds missing from characters for some reason, other than that, everything else should work pretty well.

Uh, is Mario's fair supposed to have no ALR?
It is something that didn't get put in on accident. Hmm... I wonder whose fault that is, oh yeah, you guys rushing us for a nightly! Not even giving us the chance to test it before putting it out.

Good game folks, enjoy your missing frame speeds for the weekend.

Sorry if this isn't the kind of posts you're looking for on the new build, but I'm wondering..

Is it supposed to be THIS easy to absolutely crush things with the Knee of Justice?

The current Knee is very similar to its Melee counterpart after the hitbox size increase... and yes, it's not very hard to land if you're a decent player

Actually the very front end doesnt reach the tip of his knee.

Also, almost frame speed is included in the text, its just not activating for some reason.

Interesting, I play Falcon very rarely (often for fun) but using him against my friends I was landing the Knee ~80-90% of the time.

What is this reverse knee, though? Can someone explain it to me?

Hitbox send backwards

NOW
one sweetspot hitbox
:veryconfu
^
send backwards at the back part, forward in the front

Its basically hitting with the inward hitbox of the sweetspot Knee which sends them the opposite direction of a regular sweetspot.

EDIT: Ninja'd.

Whenever I eventually get a chance to mess around with it again I'm probably going to add in a 2nd inner hitbox and instead go with 2 smaller hitboxes (one around the knee and one near the hip area) to cover the horizontal area required to reach behind enough to connect on someone behind you as well as reaching far enough in front. The single larger hitbox ends up having more vertical reach than what's needed in order to get enough horizontal area.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Its too bad we can't control the shape of hitboxes too :p

I personally feel the knee got far too buffed... (IT ACTUALLY REQUIRED SKILL TO HIT WITH IT BEFORE LOL) but as a Falcon main, I'm not really complaining <-<

Just use 5.0. You don't need to replace the pacs unless you're using custom character scripts. You can always name the pac to something like FitMarioplus.pac and put in the custom character pac. If you want to replace the effect textures, just use SmashBox.

play melee then
Someone misses their d-air? Seriously? Even in nerfing the d-air, the last nightly IMPROVED Fox... a character who probably doesn't need a buff. Not that I mind, I think it finishes up Fox nicely and it's a really cool addition.

I hate to bring this up again, but could we improve DDD? I have a decent suggestion: we could improve his mobility like we did with Jigglypuff. I also think it might be a good idea to speed up his aerials just a little.

Increasing the mobility won't help very much because of his slow horizontal aerial speed

I hate to ask this, but how do I use Smashbox to go about doing this? Tried using ASH...and it fails to find ntcompress. As this is off topic, I'll take this to PMs if that's okay with you.

On topic, Dedede's ftilt could use a new use perhaps? Make it a punisher like the rest of him strong moves? Eh, I'll pick him up again and see if there's anything to suggest.

It also looks like we'll have to wait for a new nightly now, but I'm good with that. Item play has officially been massacred in 4.2 though. Final smashes freezing and such...feels like revenge.

Thing about that is Matt, is that the only throw left to buff would be Fthrow. Bthrow already does 16% and is a great damage racker, while Fthrow should be a kill throw (but shouldn't kill until 130% near the edge, maybe even earlier?) Dthrow is fine the way it is, a techchase throw, and Uthrow was already buffed (he can do Uthrow > Uair and Uthrow > Nair now). People are also forgetting about his AC Dair, which is a major part of his game now.

1. Extract the effect texture from the pac you got from texture sites with SmashBox
2. Replace that texture in the B+ character pac with the one you extracted with SmashBox
3. Save it
4. ????

Yes I know, I had originally put Great throws, but then I remembered that he already HAS great throws, so I put amazing throws instead. Although I'm not even sure if he really is overly bad, he just seems that way to me.

DDD is, in my opinion, the worst character right now. I said this a while back, but even good DDD mains, like Turbo, can't cover up the fact that DDD is inferior to a large majority of the cast... if not everyone.

Timothy, can we improve his horizontal speed at all?

Yes. When we can open his pac, that is.
There should be other ways to buff him though... but before that, try to play around with him a bit, if everyone thinks he's really bad, suggest buffs.

Yo, what about creating Down+B moves for Ivysaur, Squirtle and Charizard using Project SA ?
While Pkmn Trainer maintains Down+B as Pokeswap? If this IS possible though cuz I think the Pkmn Trainer pac runs on the same 3 folders
