You're not going to get used to normal Fair speed in only 4 hours.
After I got used to doing away with my old Fair habits, I did not miss it. Fair abuse actually received a lot of complaints from people I've played face-to-face.
So? I complain about squirlte and falco all the time. I got used to it. -_-

But watever, I'll give it a try. 4 more hours.......tuesday

Yeah...I don't know if I'll end up liking it or not, but four hours is not enough to produce an educated opinion on Sheik's Fair. Like Neko said, we need to develop some metagame.

It's different when even I can agree that what you can do with Sheik's sped up Fair was excessive and worth the complaints (making already highly useful moves insane in my book). That's just me, though. :/

Food for thought, you now have a 6 frame execution window to do an AC uair from a SH rather than a 1 frame window.

Man Sheik's metagame is gimping, the fair helped with that. The uair buff honestly seems worthless but that may onlt be me. I dont juggle with sheik, I kill horizontally most of the time. Unless I want to go for a usmash.

I don't think he needs a lot of buffs either, but he needs something. Lucas wasn't horrible before all these buffs, but he still got them. I'd say he was slightly above DDD's level before he got them. Improved horizontal movement would be great when it's possible.
I forget the point at which D3's dair was made to auto-canceled, and have zero kbg. If you're comparing an un-modded Lucas to D3 with dair changes, then I respectfully disagree. Lucas had very few set-ups apart from his nair (his throws were mediocre, u-tilt was too slow to follow up with anything good), and lacked the spacing tools necessary to make up for this (most of his quick moves had low range, and pk fire was easily powershielded. I base the pk fire bit off of playing my inexperienced cousin, though.).

I could be wrong about this, as I admit that I don't have much experience playing as or against him.

The fair speed up helped more with ridiculous self-combos and more overall usage of the fair itself (which it doesn't need) than it ever did with gimping. A well placed Fair is still going to send them out at a low angle with the same execution time, unless you're just spamming them and actually need that speed up, which defeats smart usage of the move. Case in point, you don't need less lag on the Fair for it to gimp better.

Fair is still a gimp move and the best falling aerial can you ask for. Uair is a combo/juggle move and with a wide hit window, is a great rising aerial. The uses balance out rather than being all about Fair. As much as I liked to abuse the sped up Fair, it was too applicable and made Sheik rather bland.

I know all that but I always use fair more that uair. Its been my preference since melee so dont take my word for it.

Um I got this really weird glitchy effect. Like Pit had this wind effect around him.

I may have messed up inputing the codes so i'm trying again.
And no, I didn't see any ALR for him.

(Ike's Fb was fixed it seems)

Also Character selection screen reverted to normal.

Edit: No good. I can't seem to get it to work.
See, I copy the whole plussery text file, and remove the old Animation Engine's + Data Plussery with the new ones,

but all I get are a regular CSS and a weird wind effect in Pit's (possibly everyone's) aerials.

if u get a normal CSS either the code doesnt work, or you messed up

when you made it, did you make sure to remove the weird A symbols from the text file?

EDIT:

If we cannot get this code working, can someone do the following?

IN the animation data, for every character, add in a dummy frame speed change as their first line like:

XX000000 3F800000

This is a crude fix, but it should make everything feel normal again.

replace XX with their char ID

No... Maybe that's it.
There's a lot of them though. Do I really need to chop everyone of them out? Woah...

This may take a while.

PKNintendo, you're doing it wrong. I don't know how, but you just are.

Just tested it. Pit's ALR is back. Thanks shanus! :D (and everyone that else that fixed it)

Edit: Marth's Uptilt speedup is back too. And I don't know what the problem was with Ike, but his side-b cooldown isn't slow, is that good?

Umm, I can't it to work.
Still glitchy.

What I do is manually make a new Text file, Copy and paste the Brawl+ text into said file end put it into the SD card. I also changed the file with Shanus' new changes.

(IE delete+Add)

Am I not supposed to delete anything?

I've just added the fixed codes. I'll post when I test it. Namely, I should check for Marth's u-tilt speedup and Pit ALR, correct?

I copy/pasted it directly into my text, and here's what I saw:

Ike side-B: Ike goes into helpless after side-B use in air.

Pit ALR: Seemed to be working, except n-air lag looked strangely long. I never play Pit, though, so IDK for sure...

Marth u-tilt: Looks about the same as before. Doesn't seem to be sped up after any certain point.

Its Ike's lag on swing from sideB, not the sideB itself. He goes into special fall except on HIT

These things should be subtle, but its a very important fix.

The Ike Side-B works fine for me, and his swing is indeed sped up. I'll try Pit and Marth, afterwards. Are there any others?

EDIT: Ninja'd.

When using the auto updater, is Popo not supposed to have a pac. file? I just noticed that he didn't have one when going through my folders.

IC can't be opened with SA, so no, he doens't have a pac file. Neither do some other characters I forgot (D3 is one of them I think)

Ah. Alright then. I thought it was just Sakurai and the Pokemon who couldn't be opened with PSA. Turns out I was wrong.

Actually, this is wrong.

Popo's .PAC does open up, the problem lies in the fact that none of the changes OUTSIDE of his specials affect Nana. So it's basically moot to edit his .PAC until the changes to it affect Nana (especially since we want to fix her bugs).

well, any changes you make to attack animations also effect her animations, but she still has the same hitboxes.

just putting this out there, i can help with IC's pac if you want.
