i'd say the biggest what if is "what if armada beat mango at G1" i think that wouldve changed a lot of things, at least to the recent game.

He sucks against HBox's Puff. Mango can't play like HBox, and won't.
Not saying it would change the outcome, don't really have an opinion there, but these two Puffs are completely different.

It could be a positive thing. MaNg0 hates/hated how when he wins, no one celebrates. But when he loses, people make combo videos about it

Mango hasn't used Puff in singles for god knows how long.
Mango's style is nowhere near as good vs Peach as Hbox's.
Armada "not expecting it" is irrelevant.

I think this is the most interesting question. Tbh the smash scene in Japan died almost immediately after Ken beat them (and now its going through a resurgence). I bet that would not have been the case if Bombsoldier won, and we'd have a much healthier rivalry; the US smash scene would have been spurred forward by the defeat, and the Japanese scene would have greater confidence going forward.

Ken beating all of Japan kind of disillusioned their whole scene about the game.

For me, the mango-armada G1 question kinda falls flat when we take the second GF set into consideration; Armada got ****ed up, and mango was clearly better once he used puff. My question:

What if mango had never stopped using puff?

Armada has always had trouble against the character. If mango had continued exploring and doing new, cool **** against puff, could he have continued the dominance he showed at G1? Or would armada have pushed past his style with pure skillage? Could Armada's YL have done work on mango's puff-and what kind of double-blind shenaniganery would this have opened up considering the Mango spacies?

I just got the impression that there weren't many big Japanese tournaments after the Ken/Bombsoldier set. Its hard to get information about their scene so my history of it is a bit spotty.
