I would make an extensive video reply utilising the "You can get with this/that" hamster commercial, but I won't.

Point is, what do you prefer?

Random tripping into RIG's FSmash? Or dashdancing all dai?

No hitstun? Or Wombo Comboes?

Wavedashing and mooooooooooonwalking? Or "derp-walking"?

Ledge cancelled aerials and double jump cancels? Or getting ****ed up because your move didn't autocancel?

Lucario? Or Mewtwo?

That's pretty sad. Brings a tear to my eye.

Now, let's get back to the real world, where we play brawl.
Lol. You say that as if there was no such thing as hack tourneys and people who play hacks go poof into nonexistance.

Sadder still, there are tons of people who think Brawl+ or Project M are worth giving a **** about.

Oh wait, no there aren't.

I'm pretty sure we're still in "Don't-give-a-****-ville", Jeanie.

I could do the number games on Brawl, but it'd be so one-sided that it would hurt.

I prefer playing a fun game that I actually bothered to learn and get decent at instead of whining like a ***** that it's too gayyyyyyy because I sucked.

I prefer playing a competitive game with other competitive minded people who make it exciting rather than aforementioned whining *****es playing random hack of the month to amuse themselves with for a little while.

And, I'll take Lucario over Mewtwo any day, *****.

Those are just mechanics that make the games different.

I really wish people would stop trying to bring back the old when they can just PUT MELEE in the Gamecube. And leave those who play Brawl alone.
I mean, I've never seen a Brawl player attack Melee.

I have, Leaf, but they're few and far in between.
Jeanie's just getting upset because he's the only one in here that gives more than a **** about Brawl mods.

I also prefer Lucario over Mewtwo.

The point is people like you love making generalizations. The reason it seems "no one gives a ****" is because you camp out in Tactical/Character Discussion all day.

In that same vein, "wahwahIsuckatvanilla" isn't the top reason why people turn to hacks. Not even close. It's because most people weren't satisfied with what Brawl had to offer. Brawl just runs at such a slower pace then Melee, it can get frustrating. If you're good at Melee, you're great at Brawl. But again, Brawl isn't as fun as faster paced hacks or Melee.

Mission accomplished.

Well, it's not like Brawl hacks/melee aren't awesome, I mean B- is hilarious.

But I don't see the main tournament ever being B+. I don't see MLG picking up Project M as their event.
I don't even think Texas has B+ events ever since Neko left...
;_; Neko...

ANYWAYS: If people weren't satisfied with what Brawl had to offer, hacking it is fine. But when the melee/hack people do it in an aggressive way, thats where flame/ect starts.

Brawl not being fun as faster paced hacks is only an opinion.

Of course not, because of the social, legal, and financial impacts that would have on the TO.

Hacks have a huge following, but vBrawl has an even bigger one. Now if a TO were to hold ANY kind of hack as their main event, how do you think the millions of vBrawlers out there would react? The TO would lose rep, and more importantly, he'd lose money.

Now, seeing as hacks are really a fringe subject, it should be glaringly obvious as to why MLG wouldn't pick up any kind of hack whatsoever. I think I remember Nintendo making some kind of drama over ISO hacking that was going on a time ago.

That observation actually came from watching multiple Brawl hacks that dimwits like you shilled out as soooooooo much better than Brawl live out their short lives as minor side events until a new one comes along.

Meanwhile those same people prophesied the imminent demise of Brawl nonstop for years (because it's sooooooooo bad!) and yet here we are still. Hmm.

But hey, keep on telling yourself and everyone else how superior the hacks you play are, it's working great.

Well, isn't it all about winning the event with the most entrants so you win the most money? The choice is obvious.
I'm talking about the TO's finances and problems. The TO pays for the venue and any other luxuries they might offer, such as free beverages/food. They then charge a venue fee to enter, singles fee, and doubles fee. the first goes toward paying off the expenses for the place and luxuries, and the latter two are also for the pot. The TO has to calculate all of his finances so that at the end of the day, after giving the tourney winners their prizes, paying off the venue, food, etc, they still make a reasonable profit, enough to help them hold another tourney.

Now, seeing as there are less hackers and more vBrawlers, and assuming hackers and vBrawlers eat/drink/pay the same amount for entries, the TO will obviously earn a bigger profit by attracting vBrawlers than from hackers. And as the case is right now, if they mingle with hacks, they can kiss a good 70% of their possible entrants goodbye.

Well, from a TO's standpoint, I don't see how a hack version is good for them, either.

TO's lose money.
Players don't win as much money.

And sure, it's not all about the money. But if these hacks are so fun, how come they only have the other 30% of the smash scene? Fun things are popular, and 30% isn't very popular imo.

Who's been "prophesising" the downfall of Brawl? Who are we, the Mayans?

And the majority of your arguement lies with the fact that new builds come along to fix bugs or imbalances in older ones. But I guess you have a point. Because changing the tilt of Bowser's Flamebreath from 44 degrees to 45 degrees constitutes a whole new game completelly different from the previous. Or reducing a move's animation by two frames. Or editing a move's damage output by 3%. Or its launch angle by 2 degrees. Or hey! even removing a DJC bug will launch that build into a whole new level.

The key lies in per cents. There's a difference between 30 people out of 200 and 30% out of 200. You've seen that they're popular, but vBrawl is even more so. For every person that enjoys competitive hacking, there are probably 20 that enjoy vBrawl more. That's not to say that hackers are far and apart though. A TO could make a decent profit off of hackers, but he could make a hell of a lot bigger one of off vBrawlers.

No, I'm talking about completely different hacks, not new builds, stupid.
...

Then you could have simply worded your statement better. "The hack of the month" assumes that people are constantly dropping one hack for another. Which obviously isn't the case. That would explain why there are only four major hacks, each with their own seperate backroom. If what you are saying were the case, there'd be no need for that. They could just have one big "H4xxorz BRoom", because obviously, they're just going to flit away from one hack to another. Why bother creating a specialised group for one then?

Too bad real life doesn't work the way Stauffyworld does.

If there's any serious interest in Brawl+ or bBrawl still, it's news to me. In terms of how many people give a **** they're completely insignificant from what I can see.

Minus is heading that way. Project M will follow the same pattern.

Then...yeah. A TO should go with what pays the bills, and that's the most entrants to the venue.

Well, that's probably because the vast majority of the developers and the actual hack-planning packed up and moved here.

Leaf: at this point, it could tentatively be said that hackers could "pay the bills"; from what I've heard, Canada is also starting to get a good competetive hack scene. But humans are greedy. We go for whatever gives us more.

I prefer a game that 100% of people can play with me if I ask them/they ask me.

TBH I would drop brawl like a hot potato if people were more accepting of the hacked versions. I love brawl but hate it at the same time and some hacked version just make me love it. Some people are just really close minded because something they knew becomes unfamiliar and they basically go "DO NOT WANT!!"

They say the game is *******ized with hacks but we basically do that anyway with new rules being brought in all the time due to the flaws in the game.

The scene seems to be going under slowly but surely from where I'm standing. My area already died off and went back to Melee, and I hear other parts of WC (AKA Cali) are undergoing similar transformations... :V

@ earlier discussion, melee is better then brawl, but brawl hacks are an abomination that try to make a game better but fail. only exception is b- <33333

also Kansas city snapped back to brawl in...... august of 2008? lol

This pretty much sums up my thoughts on the hacks.
