I really do wonder what that final push would look like. its smart to compare to other nationals, in regards to how much the numbers swell in the final day...but so many people are so sure they are going to apex, compared to other nationals, that those same late people of other tourneys already signed up, myself included

Either way, im hype as **** to get my stick dual modded finally. Oh, and to play some brawl too I guess

Alex, I think the question they're asking is if there will just be more pools or more people per pool, if the numbers were to go over say...320 people (thats 5 people per pool of 64 pools)
^^^ This.
We have like 10-15 from Pittsburgh that still have to regester. We'll break 300

I know quite a few in MI, (myself included) and the midwest in general that have yet to register, but definitely will be.

I seriously believe that the final push is going to be absolutely massive. I know more people right now who are going and have yet to register, than I do people who have registered. Judging by posts from other states, both in here and in their regional topics, I think it's safe to say this is the same all over. Going over 400 for Brawl alone is all but guaranteed imo. 500 could even be surpassed.

Smashers procrastinate, especially fiscally. We've seen this time, and time again. Many smashers live off limited income and spend their money pretty soon after making it. This huge chunk of the community will all be registering in the final 2-3 days. And the numbers will increase bigtime.

Well how many entrants for melee. I can't see the stats on my phone. Also are PC and shiz still teaming together because I see no specified partner listed next to both their names in the teams section, and I swear I saw them with each others names listed as teams partners a while back.

:phone:
PC might be teaming with OTG. Shiz might team with KDJ instead.

I hope so. Im just curious to see how big it gets

Fitting that the tourney called Apex is going to possibly be the largest brawl tourney (attendance wise) in the history of smash

I remember at Pound 4, it was 160 to 170 right before the deadline.

100 for melee registered on the last day before midnight, PLUS like 50 who registered after it was closed because they complained that they missed the deadline. We already have 218 >_> It gon be huge.

To be fair, the tourney called "APEX" was in 2009, and though it was hype. And my boy Lain sent M2K to losers. And Ally rose to greatness. And magic was in the air. And Aunt Jemima makes legit syrup. And Bob is in fact a Builder...

It was not the largest brawl tourney "attendance wise."

Steep, I don't really want to list them all right now, but it's looking like Michigan alone will be sending double digits. Illinois is also supposed to have a good number, and obviously Ohio with their relative proximity to NJ.

Ok Roller. I was just curious because my friends who are supposed to be going with me are having second thoughts. I may be asking someone from Illinois or something to possibly give me a ride. Or I can possibly see if Krystedez wants to go with me… If my friends flake anyway. It would just be a long 12 hours by myself otherwise. I'm not sure if I could make it through that.

I mean, I know MI has more people who want to go than we have cars for. If you were willing to add a few hours to your trip, I may be able to get you ~3 people to split the gas with/keep you company. Though, if IL has a car heading through your way with space, that'd probably be your best option.

Oh. When it is 320 people it will be 5 per pool. Once the final tally is in we will see what needs to be done with pools.

Taking bets on first round pools in the end:

1. Pool is 8 man bracket top 2 get out
2. Pool is 6 man round robin top 2 get out
3. 1st round is done so all 2nd round pools are 5 people top 2 get out (160 would go into round 2 after round 1. That would be 53 pools or so top 3 get out first round, no matter the size of said pools)

I'm pretty interested to see where this leads. I'm starting to see why EVO runs tourneys the way they do lol

2009, I don't know if I'm wrong but that was when I teamed with Darc and almost won doubles vs M2k and Jman. Omg. Good times, we even played on Termina Bay rofl.

Hey so for Saturday, for the Melee players: There will be Melee friendlies / Smash 64 matches to watch / a Melee free for all side event happening after Smash64. But for the whole morning, who would want to watch an old school round robin? PC KDJ chudat azen chillin isai wes cjack? (All confirmed) That's sort of a lot so maybe minus one or 2 of those players?

I expect to see a Donkey Kong round robin featuring me, Phish-It, Captain Jack, and RockCrock if he goes.
