Yeah, I've never seen brawl videos that made me laugh, or get out of my seat in amazement yet, like with melee. =\

Brawl doesn't excite me at all. It's slow paced, so the combo's are slow.

That's why i like Melee. It's fast and it takes skill to play. I love how Melee you could get the crazy combos! I dont see Brawl as a game that can provide that. Overall I still play Melee and I probably will fo rthe rest of my life. lol

Melee is so much better than Brawl. I <3 Melee; to me, it's easily the best game ever.
The fun, the laughs, the intensity, and the possibilities just never end, it's a bottomless pit of entertainment.

Brawl isnt that shabby, you can atleast enjoy the first weeks. Then you probably have learned everything with every character and thats when the game starts to blow major ****.

Nice to go back to melee yes, it's funnier and faster, involving comboes, L-cancel, an advanced Air dodge and muchmuch more in the gameplay.

I still play Melee. Also, I've been wanting to make a tech skill vid for a while but don't really know what to put in it. I don't know what people consider hard or not as there's very little I find hard to do anymore. Maybe somebody could let me know.

Also, everyone should come to the Melee tourney in GA. There's already 70ish people pre-registered...

Oh, and Brawl is a garbage child's game.

I can do some platform stuff I've never seen anyone else do. Other than that, what is there to do? I can pivot close to 100%, do perfectly shffled aerials => shine => repeat, aerials => doubleshine => repeat, drillshine combos ad infinitum, shdl => shines ad infinitum, all the edge stalling shenanigans, etc. But I've seen most of this in your videos, except maybe I can do some things faster. So yeah, I don't have many ideas. My tech skill vid would be about 20 seconds long lol...

Yeah don't put any of that in a video lol.
Try mastering shield work to the point where you can make your character's movements out of proportion without others noticing the shield. Try learning that to the point where you can keep almost all your momentum but still have a noticeable change in movement and keep it going with other things. I can't explain it very good, but I've been getting really into advanced shield work and use it to do some crazy stuff. If I were to put it into a video youtube would probably make it go unnoticed or seem a lot less impressive than it is. When you see it in person and know what to look for it's amazing though.

You mean shielding from a run and then JC shining? It's not really clear what you're talking about.

Sorry don't wont to offend anyone by downing SF. Just trying to get the point across that Brawl aint no Melee. I was never big on SF so if you'll indulge my curiousity what was in depth about it? I haven't played a SF game since my SEGA Days.

Shielding between something, is like you hold L/R a bit more (but just a little bit more) and the output+input of the shield is almost unnoticeable, but I don't know how useful or amazing that could be =.=

Otto, I noticed that shield thing you're talking about in zhelgandi

EDIT: lol, wtf SF is way better than brawl and maybe better than any of the smash series but that'll depend on what sf game you're talking about. Sf is way too good.

Brawl Sucks

Not only is Melee way better, the brawl community consists of Melee noobs or just noobs who know nothing. If you have at least some tech skill in melee then there is no reason to downgrade to a game with just mindgames.

lewl yugioh abridged series more

Also, TipZ's post makes absolutely no sense. How can a game "have more mindgames"? I assume that you're trying Brawl is inherently a game that puts a heavier emphasis on the mental aspect of the game, but it's not as if Melee lacks that aspect zz

this is what's irritating; stupid people who are pro-melee make flawed, illogical arguments which are later taken and used against the whole pro-melee group as a whole

Eh... What I'm trying to say is that Melee has both a technical aspect and a mindgame aspect. The technical aspect of brawl is quite lacking : I dunno, arrow looping, Quick Attack Cancel, powershielding, camping, dodge throw... Basically, its not that Brawl has more mindgames, its that Brawl is only mindgames.

Abridged Series for the win!

I still play melee.

Some people just dont want melee in any brawl tournaments around here.

They say melee is dead and that we should just get over it.

I dont believe that.

I'm glad to see so many people reply, even in just the Fox specific. I think I'm going to try to make another tech skill video, and make it really, really good. Brawl is nowhere near Melee, and never will be when it comes to having a good time in a long run, glad to see a lot of people still see that, makes me want to make a new video even more because people might still watch it. I hope to help people remember why they love the game by making another video. I know some players said my old video made the game look fun again, so it's worth a try. Hopefully the next FC will bring all the Melee players together again, I'll be going to that for sure.

SpaceFalcon: I am going to the SFU tourney this Saturday, if that's what you're talking about. I'd gladly play you.
I would love to see a new video from you, I watch your other tech skill videos, like, every other day xD I'm so amazed, and you showing the superb movement and freedom you have in Melee, just makes me hate brawl and love melee more.

All my friends always wanna play Brawl, but I have no reason to get better at Brawl, I just want to get better at Melee.

Trying to switch my main to Fox right now, too.

Random middle of the night talking from me, is finished now, holla back.

MELEE 4 LIFE!

Edit: and Silent Wolf, if you ever make a new tech vid, could you put in some Cpt. Falcon stuff? :):):)

So when Brawl came out, my entire Melee setup had been at someone else's place for about 4 months, and it wasn't convenient for me to retrieve it. about 25 days passed and I had only played Brawl, not ONE match of Melee. And then I realized: wait, I haven't even seen a VIDEO of Melee since Brawl came out! So the first thing I did was watch Zelghandi. I was ashamed that I forgot how amazing Melee is haha. Honestly, I play both extensively, they both have their pluses when it comes to what I personally want out of a game. But nothing satisfies like Melee. thanks for getting me back into such a fantastic and accidentally perfect game =D

hey toasty I'm from Portsmouth like 2mins from the midtown to Norfolk. We should play some time. I'm just now really starting to cut my melee chops especially with fox but I don't know to many good players in the area. I'm still at school now but I get back in less than a week.

Hope all that doesn't come off as weird.

After playing pretty much only Brawl since it came out, suffering through the agony that are online matches, and seeing a few Brawl 'Combo Videos' it makes me depressed.

Oh man, I really miss this game.
