Good junk guys, except me. Staying up all night at skrach's didnt help at all. By the time doubles came around my eyes were burning soooooo bad I couldn't see. Blacklights didnt help either, all I could see was blurry and my eyes were bleeding... i know I'm not doing that again.

Yeah, XIF drove but I'm talking about our side of town *****. The only other person that has driven a decent distance besides smash aid in sasha's car is Cary, and he no longer plays. I think we've used my car 95% of the time we've ever gone anywhere. It's just a pain in the *** that no one else can even be used as a backup ride.

Ok, enough about round about insults fact of the ****ing matter is we planned this for a month and of course the day before you haaaad to go drinking. From there you knew it was dops only way back to where he lives i even went to go pick him up from where he lived to stay at my house so it was easier for you. Im not going to get into the **** me and dop had to do to get him back home. Second, we have taken sasha's car to a couple Get Commited tournys and ive drove up to orlando or tampa atleast twice myself. Yea we use your car but you only drive it 9/10 of the time usually its doodah driving it so i dont see wtf your complaining about but considering it is you we're talking about complaining isnt an oddity. Last, ****ing man up and apologize thats all you had to do really, instead you call me the day of at like 1pm asking why i didnt call you when doodah and dop called you about 10 times all together and coming on the boards *****ing about how we always use your car.

Chops came up to me to play some friendlies with me right before my match with you, and the only character he'd play is captain falcon. I asked him to play me with falco once, but he said he only wanted to practice falcon. Seems he wants a character to counterpick against ICs. Wonder why that would be .

Green Mario: You are one rich *****, my friend. Props on winning, well, almost everything.

Xif: Same to you, minus low tier singles. Always fun hanging with you too, man. Hope to see you guys again soon (and who knows, maybe some other non-drunk members of SEFL too).

Mankosuki: Cool seeing you again, man. Too bad we really didn't get to play much while you were there, as I guess you gave up on staying for singles (don't really blame you, it did go late as hell - more on that later). Hopefully I'll run into you a bit more.

Rice: You've gotta hit more of these tournaments up, man. You're way too good to just hang in tallahasse and own random FSU noobs.

DaShizwiz, Smashmac, Keepspeedn: You guys are ridiculous. Shiz's "robot combos" are too much. I gotta actually play you one of these tourneys though, I don't think I've played any of you except for Speedn once in pools. Keep me posted on your plans for going to FC btw, I'd probably like to get in on that too. Same goes for you Xif.

There were a bajillion people at this thing, some I interacted with more, some less, so if I forgot to mention anyone I'm really not suprised and you shouldn't be either. If I didn't play friendlies with anyone, I want to next time, if I did, well, I still want to play with you, cuz there's no one good to play with up here .

On a more serious note:

I'm double posting this just so it doesn't get glossed over by people skipping over shoutouts, because I really think this needs to be addressed. I understand that this post is fairly long-winded, but please bear with me.

I really think low tiers should get the axe. I understand this may sound harsh, and I know that many people enjoy low tiers, but it's just an issue of available time. For a 1 day event, 4 events are too much. Period. Doubles, which normally begins at 11:00 or noon, began after 4:00 in the afternoon. Singles, the main event, started at something between 8:00 or 10:00 at night. To reiterate, the tournament began at 10:00 in the morning, and 10 to 12 hours later, the main event of the tournament started. This is absurd. By this time many people had given up on playing and left early. Melbourne as a whole dipped before singles even started - not to call you guys out, I’m just giving an example. Those who did stay were pretty mentally drained at that point, a fact which is backed up by complaints by many to that effect - it's pretty safe to say that most people weren't bringing their A game by that point., certainly not as the night went on. Organization also became lax as things went later, culminating in several people who rgularly play and had every intention of playing in singles missing registration, most notably Sheermadness and Skratch, though skratch was allowed in thanks to one of the people who gave up and left early after having already registered (Which is kinda like winning the battle but losing the war. As an aside, why are we not allowed to register for all events at any point in the day? I would think that that would save a lot of grief on both sides of the process).

Some things to think about:

Pretty much everyone who plays in low tiers also plays in high tiers. By comparison, a pretty good number of people don't have a viable low tier due to a perfectly reasonable decision to concentrate on their mains and don't enter these events. In addition, the few low tier mains that I can think of off the top of my head (Dguy, Angry lobster, and I guess now fenrir) all tend to place pretty high in normal tournaments, so you hardly need to run them to cater to the low tier mains. Though it is worth noting that the actual top 3 in both low tier tournaments held NONE of the aforementioned low-tier mains, instead I count a mario, peach, fox, sheik, marth, and falco in doubles and mario, fox, and sheik in singles. More importantly, basically the same people won/placed high in low tiers and normal matches, only in the ones that are generally considered to matter more people were drained and/or absent because of low tiers.

Again, I understand that low tier matches are popular with some and fun, but there are TVs available for friendlies most of the time, and it's easy enough to play them then. There are only 24 hours in a day however, and we came way closer to using all of them last night than I think anyone would have ever wanted us to. If I were the one organizing this tournament, I would be FAR more concerned with maintaining the high turnouts the last few tournaments have garnered than I would with the continuation of the recently-added low tier tournaments. In particular I would be very concerned with maintaining the high attendance of talented players from outside the local orlando area for whom long tournaments followed immediately by long drives home are a powerful argument against coming out and representing. Particularly south fl, which (a) contains arguably the largest collection of raw smash talent in the state, and (b) provides a measuring stick for the non-south fl players to prove that they have an equal amount of talent, which judging from the power ranking threads that have sprung up is a major concern for many.

Gigabits’s smash tournaments have grown to be by far the biggest regular tournament in florida, outlasting Get Committed in central florida and various endeavors at Zero Ping and other lan centers in south fl. They draw people from all over the state on what seems to be a pretty consistent basis, judging by the last few tournaments. Low tiers are fun, and popular in the abstract, but realistically seem like they carry far too much of a risk of dragging this successful venture down rather than improving it. Thus, I am respectfully suggesting that in order to allow this tournament to thrive as it has been that a return to the old format of just regular singles and doubles is in its best interest.

I'm gonna have to agree with Pritch on this one, as much as I love low tier tourneys. All 4 tourneys in one day is hella draining, and thats the main reason me and my bro left before regular teams even started.

I think Gigabits should do one of the following:

• Eliminate low tier singles. Low tier singles involves a lot of camping, and is less fun overall than low tier doubles

• Move low tiers (singles/doubles) to a different day, such as Sunday

Or the best thing:

• Start on time with low tier teams, then to normal doubles, then normal singles, then low tier singles for die-hards that still want to stick around that late.

The only reason I can think of why the main event came last at this tournament was to try to get people to enter into all of the events to generate more income and pad the pot, but really this just backfired with more than a dozen people pulling out and the rest becoming exhausted.

Excellent tourny, these are just my suggestions for how to improve it. Specifically, put low tier events around the normal ones so people can come early or stay late for them, without normal players being inconvenienced.

Pritch - thnx for trying to rectify my missing singles registration. However I really want low tiers to stay since I co-main a low tier. I don't think we really need to get rid of low tiers, because it does draw a lot of interest. I'd say most low tier players would much rather eliminate low tier doubles. Anyway always nice seein you at tourneys and louis' place, next time we should actually play a little though.

edit- sheer crews was junk. Surprisingly me and zoro did the best taking off 6 stock each and uuaa and hiroshi taking off less than 4 each. I think uuaa only took off one the 2nd time vs colin.
