Unfortunely I won't be at this tournaemt. I accidently hit my head on a cement wall last sunday. It hurt really bad and then I lost conciousness. Thanks to the people at GIGABITS for doing everything right and saving my life.

I got released from the hospital today after recovering from Brain Surgery: although theres a lot of things I'm not supposed to do for the next month.

Anywas have fun at the tournament guys, Cecil (aka Neil) will be there as usual.

Hi all I was reading the equipment log and saw that there will be four HDTVS.
Are they going to be using these HD Television sets for the tournament?We all know that hdtvs have button latency lag which degrade timing.

Uck: Gigabits is the only place I've played where the HDTVs DON'T lag. They used to, but someone found some type of switch which eliminates the lag on them. Trust me on this, they don't lag.

I went to the tournament but couldnt stay I was hoping I could do singles before I had to work.

The few hdtvs were laggy the only thing that can help reduce lag is to use the gamecube that accepts component cables(rgb) which enables progressive scan mode.This doesnt eliminate it but reduces the button lag. Gamecube 480i conversion to 720p hdtv will never be button latency free.

It was packed to say the least and only had a chance to play a few friendly doubles on a little tiny tv.
I met Phanna which was cool.

While I certainly enjoyed the other events (<_<), the fact of the matter is that by the time singles comes around people get tired, chicken out, gotta go, etc. I know personally by the time singles came around I was starting to lose focus, which probably resulted in the lapse of judgement which told me luigi vs sheik would be fun in a tournament match... which it was =P. It may be a john from someone who doesnt have the same stamina as the brothers, but I honestly think either doing doubles>singles>low tier singles> low tier doubles OR, keeping the same format but overlapping tournament (when TV's free up because the last matches in a bracket are being played, this alone would save probably 3 hours if done right) would be a better idea than the current format.

It was good but I dont think low tier should take over priority of the reguler tournament, do it after reg doubles and singles. Doodah you guys could have made it easy, teams dident start until like 7pm then I left around 9:15 and doubles werent even finished

Yeah, XIF drove but I'm talking about our side of town *****. The only other person that has driven a decent distance besides smash aid in sasha's car is Cary, and he no longer plays. I think we've used my car 95% of the time we've ever gone anywhere. It's just a pain in the *** that no one else can even be used as a backup ride.

ah man...this was a very disappointing tournament...i did so bad in every single tournament except for low tier doubles...which i placed around 5th-6th i believe with uuaa...kinda sucked...too bad i have too much **** to do nowadays...i have like no smash training time anymore...so i am gonna be stuck at this skill level for like...ever, while everyone is all getting better and ****...as far as the day went though...i just love the environment...seeing all the regular faces and just chillin..i luv it...its just the actual playing smash part i hate...lambchops and i have them ****ty fingers...

Just got back to UF; I slept over at Skratch's last night. I have 22 sets recorded, with at least 2 matches per set, and I'll now start cutting up the vids into each match, then exporting them, then uploading them to youtube. Each one takes 15-20 minutes to complete this whole process, so I hope everyone is patient as the rest of my day today is consumed doing this. More likely than not, they won't all be up until Tuesday, but I'll see how much I can get done ASAP. I'll post a link here when I make a thread for all the videos.

Highs/Lows
Highs: Me and Darrel vs Kyle and Alex on Corneria. Dustin Fred Josh and I cycling on that ******** TV at the front of the store. Seeing Kenny Again.

Lows: Getting knocked out of winners by someone who didn't pay entry fee. Realizing again what limited use peach has. Realizing again how stupid this game is by beating GM with Marth (who I don't even play). Running out of money.

Another High: Getting beat by GM's mario as Marth in the 3rd match.

This was overall an excellent tourney.

I did not get to play quite a few of the matches that I wanted to play due to there being no time for friendlies and the tourney ending so late.

Dark Falchion - Had some good matches, playing against you in both low tier singles and regular singles. Your Bowser is definitely awesome, I need more practice against it. Your Marth is godlike as always.

Hiroshi - Didn't get to play you in any one on ones at the tourney, but we had some nice team matches. Your Sheik has definitely improved from what I could see. I still need to get some of that Pika action.

Pritch - Your Peach has also become better by a good margin. That final match we had was really close and it could have gone either way.

Crom and Crew - Our team match was pretty good as well. Your Ganon is killer. I have never met your teammate before, but he is definitely one of the better Samuses that I have seen. Good job. We need some one on ones.

Linguini - Man, your Ganon is insanely good. Our matches were some of my favorite at the tourney.

QDVS and Rock Crock - You guys stomped Ecky and I in low tier teams pretty well. Next time, we definitely need to get some one on ones though, no matter what.

Ted Boosley - Some pretty close matches we had. Your Jiggs is so troublesome and tricky. What happened to that awesome team name that you guys were going to have? Oh, and sorry about Ecky... haha

I have a few godlike suggestions that would make the Tourney way more enjoyable.

First of all, perhaps we should have low tiers after the regulars. By the time regular singles happened, so many people had already left and everyone else was getting tired. Perhaps it is a conspiracy to get good sales on your caffeinated beverages, I don't know, but it should be fixed a bit. I have a blast playing in all four tourneys, but perhaps having all four is a bit much.

Second, not all people were entering all tourneys. Some people(Especially those entering only regular tier) were left doing nothing for six or seven hours. I recommend that for the next tourney, have one or two TVs dedicated completely to friendlies. This would keep everyone better entertained and it may cut back on people sneaking friendlies in during the tourney on the tourney TVs.


I am real tired at the moment, so this is all I am going to say for now. For all the people I forgot, do not worry, you were probably awesome also.
