Does anyone know how to save games in a GBA emulator?

If there's no save option in-game then the emluator will save automatically. Every time you close the emulator, VBA will write onto the designated savefile.

^This. MMBN < MMSF. The bosses were like...ridiculous. The broken dark chips wer nice too. (minus 1 max hp tho, still worth it lol)

Shift+F1 or any F button. Each F is a different save file. Actually what viet said is true as well. Just save a game normally (like u would if u had a real gba and were playing a game). When u boot up the emulator later it loads a battery and it pretty much just lets u load the game from inside the game.

In other words. Play ur game like you would a real gba. It works. The shift+F1 thing is just a way to save ur game w/o going to a in game save point. To load, just press F1 or w/e button u used to save it.

none of that is working
whenever I close the game it says "visual boy advance save error blahblahblah"

EDIT: I fixed it.

Apple has this weird thing of making installing programs seem like separate devices: same as like a hard drive or iPod.

So when I copied the game boy program to the computer (from the computer???) I didn't copy the battery save file. So I copied it... problem solved.

I'm such a n00b at mac.
