In general: I played those friends of mine again today (minus the falco, and the samus bowed out randomly, so it wound up just me vs. the snake, who occasionally switched to ganon), and the only reason I didn't play better than I did was 100% lag, I know for sure now. Otherwise, even HE says I've improved. I didn't get to play marth much, as the lag screws him over BIG time, but my Zamus pwn'd him. He was going on and on in the chat afterwards about how she shouldn't be "THAT fast, THAT strong, and THAT hard to kill", etc. etc. I was surviving to upwards of 180%, even getting fully hit by ftilts and nearly getting gimped by various explosives. We were both on our last stock, me with 180-something percent and him with next to nothing 'cause he'd just recently respawned. Then, I managed to catch him off the edge with a dsmash, and proceeded to BEAUTIFULLY flip-kick spike him, winning me the match. :D

He played until he BARELY won one match, then quit. IDK what killed me, either. I was at around 150%, which I'd easily survived past before. Those missiles of snake's, last I remember, don't have insane knockback, do they? 'Cause I was at one side of Lylat, recovering, and 'cause Lylat with all it's graphics was pretty laggy, I was mashing shield trying to dodge, so I inevitably mistimed it. I got hit by that missile (or rather, I sorta landed almost on top of it?), and sent flying to my death... on the opposite top corner of the screen. O.o

Anyway, there are other stories, but I'm sure no one cares. xD So I'll leave it at this: I'm improving! There's hope for me yet!

i had band camp last week..... but its just in the school parking lot lol


im only a junior and the seniors are stupid so the senior prank sucked horribly

next year its going to be much better

thats the worst attitude possible

by the way every smasher goes through a slump where they want to quit. after i lost 2 weekends ago first thing i thought was "i suck i should quit" when in reality i knew i wasn't anywhere near quitting lol.

The Ken combo is a combo only usable in Melee as it is a true combo. In Brawl there is no character that can execute this correctly. To say that you used a Ken Combo in Brawl would be to say that you cooked a chicken in my freezer. It is impossible.

data is just use common sense at some point it would work >_>

and in melee it was usually a combo with bad di, sometimes inescapable if the marth adjusted.

a lot of "combos" you see in melee aren't true combos either, just a lot harder to get out of...

that's something a lot of new brawl players miss... it's not just about survival DI its about DI to avoid the ****...

now you know

edit: thats why dbr combo videos are so funny because its just a compilation of bad di and a lot of those arent even combos, then those same ppl commenting on how great those videos are would come into brawl combo videos and say those arent combos looooool

Hm... I could've sworn that the Ken combo was carrying your target off of the stage with a series of Fairs, ending with a Dair. This puts Marth in a checkmate position since his opponent will either be ***** by the tipper Dair, or will be in the position to be edgeguarded.

There are no "combos" in Smash, only follow ups. This makes Melee fail Melee and every belief of Melee false. This includes the Ken combo.

Meow.

Hey, don't be mean. A DDD player screwed up, allowing a non-combo to actually work, happens all the time.


Anything that's bad for that ****ing penguin is good in my book.

The thing is, melee has follow-ups that are automatic regardless of how you DI, the follow-ups are just different.

Guaranteed follow-ups is what defines a combo.



Chaingrabs are an easy to point out case, because depending on the DI, you need to do a wide variety of things, BUT, it's within reaction time, therefore is inescapable.
