Is it just me, or are there a few people around here with a weird hatred with anything old?
Smash Remix Melee Green Greens took one of the most forgettable casual Smash stages and turned into probably the funniest psuedo-competitive stage ever.
I am a strong side special hater, but also I think that both NASB1 and Smash 64 (including Remix) have nowhere near enough horizontal movement specials.

After thinking about it some more, I'm starting to understand your dislike of hype culture...kind of. Like, I still don't blame Sakurai or Nintendo for it. My ire is mainly directed towards the "Hype Beasts™" who insist that Smash always has to out-hype itself 24/7.
As someone who has hated Pokemon's approach to grammar (capitalised species names, no plurals, strict pronunciation, all-caps names in the older games) for a LONG time, this is so vindicating.

It's kinda funny that Racist Mario predates both Link's addition to Mario Kart, AND Cloud's addition to Smash; despite feeling like an extremely on-the-nose but not at all effective commentary on either.
If "Banjo & Kazooie are Raring to go" is an acceptable reveal slogan, then it should also be acceptable to use "Mario is EADing tonight!"
I'm watching some of the Play Nintendo kiddie ads, and they keep saying "I'd like to think that..." when describing character traits - and on one hand I do appreciate them encouraging kids to create their own interpretations of Nintendo's intentionally vague character personalities, but on the other, "I'd like to think Diddy Kong is a great friend" in an utterly tragic sentence out of context.
You have legitimate Smash info, with visual evidence in motion, you are going to leak it, as anyone would, but you're in the mood for shenanigans: what lies do you insert within your truths? Are you feeling vindictive? Do you want to give relief through an unpleasant lie? Do you want to make your weird MW mainstream? Are you just in a memeing mood?

Put Chunky Kong in Smash and base his entire moveset and depiction around him accidentally wearing a disco suit to the DK Rap.
Having the Metroid assist trophy only be killable with ice when only like 2 characters have ice attacks isn't a cute reference, it's bad game design. Not even bad balance or competitive design or something nitty-gritty like most flaws I think exist in Smash, just like, regular ol' nonsensically cryptic gameplay.
I haven't seen the Jellystone Cartoon Network crossover yet, but from what I've seen it really annoys me that all the Hanna-Barbera characters got completely redesigned but the CN characters are just... the characters from the shows.
Trying to figure out why general Smash fandom thinks emotional attachment is the be-all-end-all, but also feel any kind of reason to argue points for or against a character, and I think my brain is actually going to break.
Went down the "is Rayman a mascot" rabbit hole and found some technically-substantial evidence (specifically WayBack Machine crawls of Ubisoft websites), but that evidence is all localised entirely within a span of 2-to-3 years, and either internet exclusive; representing only Ubisoft's children's game range; or both.
Reading up My Little Pony discourse, and apparently there's kind of an animosity between toy fans and show fans, because the prior doesn't like how all the toys are made show-accurate - instead of uniquely brushable - and overwhelmingly based on the same 8 or so main characters to appeal to show fans instead of fans who want to make up their own personalities and stories.
Fandom is a flat circle.

switching copyright to "use me or lose me" is a bad idea (way too easy to loophole no matter what interpretation), but it could - under the right circumstances - cause the funniest thing ever
I feel like I'd be a lot more proactive in criticising AI if the large anti-AI sentiment wasn't so happy with talking in a weird "us vs. them" way. Even when referring to an inanimate object and by all means true, the idea of "we are inately better than them" just freaks me out, especially when I'm part of the "we". You're starting to sound like Ayn Rand, stop doing that.
I think that pretty much every adaptation Warner Bros has put out in the last 10 years or so, with a few exceptions, feels kinda like... for lack of a better term, bargain bin public domain adaptations? Like they want to be seen as willing to let artists take risks with established IP, but there's also some things that can't or must be omitted (particularly aesthetically), and it ends up making a bit of an uncanny valley between a faithful adaptation and something new using the same content.

I was going to make a "what's the matter lagerboy?" meme about playing characters based on function, but I realised that "functions-are-charactersboy" and "emotional attachmentboy" are both too long and ruin the sentence flow, and I just simply couldn't use "F.A.C." -
