I've been watching a lot of videos about the SuperMarioLogan drama - it's a fascinating Icarusian cautionary tale of getting too big for your own good, especially when your works deal with such a niche yet potentially controversial subject matter as Mario toys swearing.

The thing that really gets me is that he claims his videos aren't for kids to cover his back, but then has a merch store that sells back to school supplies and kid-sized shirts. He really wants the best of both worlds.

One thing I'm happy about with this Nick hype is that nobody I've seen thinks the IPs delegitimize the game. There's been memes, there's been a bit of joking with the idea of "Mr. Krabs' DI" or "Zuko losing the Plankton matchup", but overall everyone's on the same page that if a game with the Wii Fit Trainer and Duck Hunt Dog can be taken seriously, so can a game with Nigel Thornberry and the Powdered Toast Man.

With the Steam Deck now a thing I don't really have much reason to replace my broken laptop until I start work on my game project. Will certainly be a bit of a hassle to save up for though - £289?

Why is deleting others' posts on your profile allowed?

I just put a message on someone's profile explaining that the problem with Smash's FE rep isn't that Nintendo are advertising a game but rather that they're advertising it in an intrusive manner - and they just deleted the post, didn't even respond.

The good of a proper competitive Nickelodeon platfighter:

• The first non-Smash platform fighter with an actual reconisable cast to be designed for competitive play
• A wide variety of characters old and new with unique worlds and abilities to draw from, some of whom have been passed down by generations for decades.
• Funny voice impression and George Lopez at 3AM memes
• A serious fighting game with a cartoon aesthetic, one of the first of its kind.

The bad:

• More terrible jokes about whatever 2000s Nick star has got into a scandal this week.

I love the transformation in All-Stars Brawl hype from "haha funny spunch bop" to "cautiously optimistic" to regular old "optimistic".

This actually... doesn't look too bad? I mean, I said the same when trailers for Nick Kart Racers came out so I'll probably be proven wrong, but still. If it's cheap it could be a fun way to pass the time regardless of quality.

I just got an ad where someone sung "having coloured hair doesn't make you unprofessional" on loop.

I'm very discouraged from having coloured hair now, I've always been going for "unprofessional chique".

I like how the guy/gal/enby (assumedly the prior) who made the original "draw your favourite Nintendo character in this and nothing else" just wanted to get some free pr0nz, but almost everyone who drew it either did an eldritch abomination, a ridiculously ugly character, or a character who's already naked and has no weewee or veevee.

I wonder if the term "Karen" will eventually get so ubiquitous that future generations will look back on Karen in SpongeBob the same way we think of Betty Boop's dog boyfriend being called "Bimbo" today.
