  • Protip: Being all "UMMM ACTUALLY..." whenever someone considers Bayonetta and Joker to be Sega reps is just annoying, and makes no sense to do

Yeah, according to SmashWiki they are both Sega reps.
Do people really argue about this?

Joker I get because Atlus was their own thing before Sega bought them. Still a Sega rep by proxy, but Sega didn't create him. Bayonetta on the other hand is completely a Sega IP. Sega's name is mentioned in the credits and box for Bayonetta 2 despite the Nintendo publishing. And Platinum earlier this year announced a game that they flat out said was the first Platinum owned IP and said game had nothing to do with Bayonetta.
I’m not 100% certain about this, so take it with a grain of salt but apparently a while ago there was a visual novel that had a line praising the LGBTQ community, and showing respect for them. People accused the translators of adding the line to further their own political agenda... Despite the fact that the line was literally in the original Japanese translation.

If that’s true, it’s gotta be one of the dumbest videogame controversies since Jax’s MK11 ending, the protagonist of Battlefield V, or the “I cheated in sekiro” article
Don’t forget how big of a deal it is that freakin’ banjo kazooie and ridley made it in

It's strange how nobody really talks about Ridley - but in a way that's a good thing since it shows how well he blends into the Smash roster, just as his supporters said.

Funnily enough, I think the people who were against Ridley are the ones who appreciate his moveset and gameplay style more, at least from who I've talked to - it's similar for K. Rool, I'm pretty sure most people who play K. Rool didn't even know he existed, or at least that had any moves or tricks other than "throw crown", before Smash! (though as a K. Rool supporter I love his moveset and gameplay style)

It’s so weird to live in 2020 hearing things like “banjo’s lame” or “I’m set to play against Ridley? Ugh.” Or “ban Steve.” What a timeline we live in.
Hah... Steve’s not broken! Take that haters!

I mean, it's not really possible to determine a character's strength under an hour after they've come out. Smash Wii U Cloud was considered weak on release and then ended up being top 2 in the game, as an example.
I had a dream Don Cheadle died... I have weird dreams... They’re only weird because they’re not weird and that’s pretty weird

There's one dream I remember very vividly from my childhood. Did you ever see a cartoon called Yvon of the Yukon? basically, it was about a French Wario look a like who got frozen in a block of ice and was unfrozen by dog piss in the Canadian Arctic 100 years later - just giving context - I had a dream where my school asked the class to freeze themselves in blocks of ice for an entire afternoon. Also Lisa Simpson was there. I must've been 7 at most so I have no clue how I remember this dream.

I think by now we’ve all accepted the strangeness of dreams. Like, people joke about how weird they are but seriously... It’s really, REALLY weird that we go inside imaginary worlds in our brains when we sleep and those worlds are apparently symbolic of our current mental state.

Everyone should just take a minute to think about how thats actually a thing that happens in real life
People have been complaining about Nintendo spoiling details about Age of Calamity... What have they been spoiling? I don’t see anything that isn’t usually shown when a game is announced. They’ve just been giving us info a bit more fast than usual because it what’s a a a short release date
Remember when people were certain Min Min would be broken? She definitely was not broken in the game
It’s weird how the Contra Anniversary Collection has the arcade versions of each game but Castlevania Anniversary Collection dosent have Haunted Castle or Vampire Killer

Actually, we got the Castlevania Collection on Switch.

I think you are confusing It with Castlevania Requiem which was something entirely different and only had Symphony Of The Night and Rondo Of Blood.

Oh, okay than. I haven't heard anything Castlevania related since the base game days and I remember a certain Castlevania collection being PlayStation exclusive at the time.

Man, do I wish Konami would release a Ganbare Goemon/Mystical Ninja Collection. I wouldn't care if it was only released in Japan and it was a PlayStation or Switch exclusive, I would buy it. Us Goemon fans live to suffer and I'll take any Goemon game they can throw at me since the last Goemon game we had on any console was on the DS way back in 2005.
In a lot of retro trilogies the first game is the classic, the second game is the “black sheep” and the third game is often considered the best one. Look at Mario it Castlevania
And then maybe a fourth game later on but that’s besides the point

One exception to this is Sonic, except not for me... Because of this, and because of the fact that I kinda don’t like the first Sonic game... I often consider Sonic 2 to be Sonic 1, and Sonic CD to be Sonic 2... That way it actually goes with the “Retro trilogy” rule

    RetrogamerMax
Actually, there are some exceptions to this like:

    Mega Man 2
    Sonic 2
    DKC2
    Mario Party 2
    Turok 2
    Snowboard Kids 2
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door

All these games are considered the best titles in their franchises. And when I mean franchise for PMTYD and Mario Party 2 I mean Paper Mario and Mario Party and not the mainline Mario franchise.
“Ultimate is the worst Smash game in terms of balancing!”

Okay so uh... have you even heard of Brawl?
Wow.... just ran into someone online who unironically wants people who make Among Us or Clone High memes to kill themself... god the internet is so frustrating
There are probably thousands of people thinking “Oh hey that BotW knock off game of on mobile and it’s free? might as well get it” and then Genshin Impact became a surprisingly successful game... Ah who am I kidding, everybody knew it was gonna get a lot of downloads since the controversy
You need to start asking yourself the questions that matter. Like, why do Mario and Luigi say “We’re the Mario brothers! We’re not like the others who get all the fame!” in the opening of the Super Mario Bros Super Show and yet in the live action segments they have a reputation as the best plumbers in Brooklyn in and are frequently visited by celebrities
I keep up with Mat Pat’s videos ironically. If you have nostalgia with the channel but haven’t been a watching as much lately, I’d have to recommend watching his Among Us videos (if you are interested in among us) because they’re actually pretty interesting

The Arthur video is honestly hilarious to me, because the whole point of animals in Arthur is allegory, they're not actually animals in-universe, so his whole theory falls apart fundamentally.
There are probably thousands of kids whose parents don’t know how send in joycons to fix joycon drift and have essentially wasted 380 dollars for their kids. If I was a parent who didn’t know much about gaming but and that happened to me... I would never buy anything from Nintendo ever again. Nintendo is losing their name quick

I don't think I agree with that. Pretty sure a parent would look into repairs even if they're not into gaming before spending that much. If they don't, than I'd honestly call that bad parenting. And never buying another Nintendo product again? I kind of feel like that argument doesn't work here considering they're buying said products for their kids rather than themselves.

And for what it's worth, people have been reporting that the newer Joy-Con Shipments finally fixed the drift problem. We're still not completely out of the woods yet on this, but it's a good step in the right direction.

Yeah, that’s a good point. I dont have a kid and have a lot experience with videogames so I can’t be sure, but if my kid absolutely wanted a nintendo console, I’d consider still getting it for them, but I still wouldn’t exactly have much faith in the brand

Personally, I think the Joy-Con drift incident is the only true blunder they’ve had since the launch of the Switch. All the other complaints people go crazy about are usually just loud vocal minorities blowing things out of proportion.
Apparently not long after Sega teased Sonic Adventure 3, they also talked about the possibility of making a Dreamcast Mini... umm... yes, please. I would get so hyped for that and absolutely buy it.

Game Theory has a video that suggests there was cut content related to a Frozen level, where Elsa turns evil and attacks the main characters, like how Elsa was planned to be evil in the first Frozen movie

And for some reason the thumbnail says “Too hot for Disney!”
now that’s clickbait if I’ve ever seen clickbait
Boy have I got a hot take for y’all today:
The way people are comparing N. Sane Trilogy with 3D All Stars is pretty flawed and unfair

(I know someone recently made a post comparing the two and this rant isn’t meant to be attacking that person)

So... Yeah it’s pretty dumb what was missing from 3D All Stars. The lack of Galaxy 2 and 64 DS makes no sense, especially because Nintendo clearly has no plans to rerelease them somewhere else. There’s literally no benefit to keeping them from people, from a business stand point.

But still, N. Sane Trilogy is not miles ahead 3D All Stars. People say it is for two reasons:
    • The price ($40 instead of $60)
    • The games are remastered

Well... the price is a bit understandable to be honest: N. Sane Trilogy has a lot less content than 3D All Stars. It takes only like 5 hours to beat each Crash game, but the Mario games have much more content. It has over double the amount of content as the Crash collection! And remember The crash worlds are not open like Mario’s. They’re still fun, but not open, and not as immersive.

    N. Sane Trilogy also has things that aren’t in the game for no good reason. Why isn’t the original version of each game playable? Why dosen’t it have any sort of gallery or soundtrack player?

And then there’s the “remastered” part... Yeah remastered is honestly just a buzzword here. They’re the same games. Obviously a lot of work went into remastering them, but they’re still games people have already played in the 90s. Don’t treat this collection like the new standard for rereleasing games because the graphics look better

This isn’t to tear into Crash, I love the collection, think it was a great way to revive Crash, and they absolutely made the right call doing what they did. It’s just that it kind of frustrates me when people are quick to jump to Crash, saying it’s alot better for no reason other than “mario runs on just an emulator.” It’s not as simple as that and I do think 3D All Stars is the most bang for your buck

    Janx_uwu
Well, it's two years since N-Sane's Switch release and I can still buy it. So it has one thing over 3D All Stars.

I'd say the only thing that really helps the N. Sane trilogy or even the Spyro one is that they fixed a lot of glaring issues with the games as well. With Crash specifically I rememebr there being some crystals that were damn near impossible to actually get or would glitch out and couldn't be obtained. So 100% the games could be incredibly difficult if not impossible at times and the remaster/makes fixed those issues in general. So good on them for doing so.

But the big underlying factor too is, as said, the content ratio is astronomical. People also need to remember also that Nintendo does NOT like to undervalue their properties. Some hate that but I do understand it. They do recognize the quality of their games (Let's be fair, their game quality track record is incredibly impressive. I won't say they don't ever slip up or make trash at times but the bad eggs are a lot less frequent than the block busters). They don't feel the need to sell them dirt cheap.

Yet even in this collection, I don't even find $20 per game to be all that egregious. If anything, the cost of the originals to the collected works is greatly in Nintendo's favor. The Crash games in original form are not uncommon and hold little to no real notable second hand value. MAYBE 10 bucks each, generally. The original releases for the mario games on this collection? over 100 bucks for all 3. LOOSE.

The 60 dollar price tag for 3 games with great replayability and heaps of content is a fair price, especially to play on a system I can take anywhere.
I’m honestly still pretty surprised there wasn’t any Sonic Schoolhouse references in Mania. Mania seems like the perfect place to have a funny, stupid reference to something like that

Unless it does have a reference to it and it just dosent come up when I google “mania sonic schoolhouse reference”
