  • Btw Pierce, I could really do with a Marth critique sometime soon if possible :p

Been a while since I felt I've needed the help, but atm to me it's more like "well I'm sure there's things im doing wrong/could do better".

    :p
I figured I'd do your shoutout here since you're the only Brawl-favoring player I met at Pound.

It was really cool to meet you bro. I'm sorry you caught me when you did. Any other time and I would've suggested that we play a few Brawl friendlies(I do try to stay in shape in that game for the most part) and it would have been cool to play you, despite what I think you feel about Marth dittos haha. Ah well, I'm sure this won't be the last time we're somewhere together. Thanks for the support, and I'll see you around bro!
Thanks to the replay hack, I now have some up to date footage of myself against a respectable Wario user. I do hope at the very least that you find the matches entertaining.

I'm wondering if you would appreciate getting the actual replays (email or AIM or filehosting?), since although I do have the tools to record and upload (which I'll probably get to sooner or later this week), the quality will not be impressive since I'm using a labtop webcam.
Pierce...my Mario is almost amazing, except I lose to known players.

I will need your help in critiquing my Mario once I get recent footage of me up on my youtube channel. I just know that I understand this game extremely well and I'm confident with some adjustments, I could very well become a serious tournament threat and someone who would be very likely to place extremely high in low tiers. I need tips in becoming more consistent somewhere.

My channel is here btw, but unfortunately all the videos I have of myself are quite old...although, I do think that I could stand to learn from the mistakes I make in them. http://www.youtube.com/user/A2ZOMG
hey man i just read you OP from the tier prediction thread and I completely agree with you on pit. I am trying to bring more light to the pit boards especially his meta game thread and if you had anything you wanted to add to the thread the boards would love your input
Yeah, I was like. "Where are the vids? O.o" bu that explains it. I take it you didn't want to pick it up again?
Pfft, I wish. I didn't have the cash to make registration, and my mom wouldn't let me go without an escort(my older sister) and she didn't want to go, so I was screwed.

You played Melee competitively too? I'll try to find some vids. =O
Just wanted to tell you that you have an impressive Marth and enjoy reading some of your posts in the tactical discussion forum.
Uhm, we've never met if that's what you're implying. I've just seen your Marth. I actually play Marth a lot like you. =o
i just realized u still have my controller LOL

are you or anyone using it?

i dont really want it back just making sure its being put to good use.
Yo. Since you won't be posting on my thread, I want to ask one thing. What happened between Inui and Ally?
lol you seem similar to me. I applied myself up until sophmore year in high school. I had very good grades @ the time...3.5 @ the end of my freshman year. But my transition to high school wasn't the best. I had moved from Ohio @ the end of 7th grade(private schooling most of my life) to Alabama(8th & 3/4 of 9th-1st time going to public school) then to Chicago 9th-now. All of that moving, learning to adapt to my environment, and making new friends was too much for me to deal with at that age. I had already been moving most of my life, and when I finally was stable I had to leave it all again.

I used smash as my outlet since that was the only thing I was still connected throughout all of those places. My grades steadily dropped because I devoted less time to school and more for smash. My dad was busy with his job throughout this, traveling and whatnot, but now he's really hard on me because he missed a critical time in my life. My mom developed an illness after 7th grade, so she wasn't really looking after me as often.

I still have decent grades...3.3 right now... I could have done much better if things were different, but I'm slowly learning that the past is the past and that I can only look @ the future. I may enlist in the Navy right now, even though I got accepted to 4 schools. I think enlisting in the Navy, re-learning all that I used to know, gaining my spark back, and using it to pay for my school will put less stress on my dad and help me out.

But yeah, all I focus on is smash & graduating right now >_<
If you want your vote in the Pit-thread to be counted, then change it as I told you to in the thread.
I'm surprised. I can tell that you are extremely intelligent based off your posts, essays, and guides. I wish I could write like you! I'm serious though. Not many people can write like you can. Its pretty rare now-days. Well goodluck w/ becoming an officer. Do you know what kind of field you plan on specializing in? & what made you choose Army and not the other branches?
Thanks Pierce! I owe you one. Your post cleared it up a lot. That post, and plenty of others have completed my personal guide for playing this game. I just need to get out there, get experience, keep all of the advice in mind, and I should become a top player eventually.

So, your a senior right? What colleges have you applied/got accepted to? I'm a senior as well, and I got accepted into 2 colleges already. I'm excited, but I'm seriously considering the Navy at this point.
lol yeah I know. I was just "preparing" you for my questions. Its just that some top players are extremely arrogant, and when I ask questions, they tend to ignore the "weak" and only help the "strong." Hence, why our average players are below average. I'm just not used to this type of kindness on these boards.

Anyways, let's get back to helping the community. Ok, these are some of the questions I have always wanted to know.

*How does one figure out what is going on in the mind of their opponent?
*What are the different types of play styles?
*What qualities make a top player?
------Why are M2K and Ally different from "average" players?
*How does one take control of a match and predict everything their opponent is going to do next?
*How does one get better at observing their opponents and making quick decisions?
Well I have a lot of questions regarding this game, but I don't want to make you write essays for all of them unless you don't mind.
