lol you seem similar to me. I applied myself up until sophmore year in high school. I had very good grades @ the time...3.5 @ the end of my freshman year. But my transition to high school wasn't the best. I had moved from Ohio @ the end of 7th grade(private schooling most of my life) to Alabama(8th & 3/4 of 9th-1st time going to public school) then to Chicago 9th-now. All of that moving, learning to adapt to my environment, and making new friends was too much for me to deal with at that age. I had already been moving most of my life, and when I finally was stable I had to leave it all again.
I used smash as my outlet since that was the only thing I was still connected throughout all of those places. My grades steadily dropped because I devoted less time to school and more for smash. My dad was busy with his job throughout this, traveling and whatnot, but now he's really hard on me because he missed a critical time in my life. My mom developed an illness after 7th grade, so she wasn't really looking after me as often.
I still have decent grades...3.3 right now... I could have done much better if things were different, but I'm slowly learning that the past is the past and that I can only look @ the future. I may enlist in the Navy right now, even though I got accepted to 4 schools. I think enlisting in the Navy, re-learning all that I used to know, gaining my spark back, and using it to pay for my school will put less stress on my dad and help me out.
But yeah, all I focus on is smash & graduating right now >_<
