I always felt that the playable Boo in the Mario Tennis games was a woman, she gives real big she/her vibes

More Mario Kart World roster talk: I know one of the many controversies regarding it is that a lot of the characters lack arms and that breaks their immersion and all that
But
As someone who loves Mario enemies, I feel like all the iconic mainstays should get a chance to be playable, and for most of these strangely shaped armless characters, being in Kart is their only chance.
Say what you will, but it's way easier to suspend your disbelief for cheepcheep in a go-kart than it is for cheepcheep playing golf
According to the Mario Wiki, which does count Metal & Gold Mario as seperate characters from eachother, among other things, there are 86 playable characters across the Mario Kart series
That's only 14 to 100.

Trying to recall old Mario Odyssey false rumors and predictions for nostalgia's sake. I feel like most people remember the Defino rumors, and that people thought his different hats would be powerups before captures were revealed, but there's a really silly one I remember from some prediction video back in the day
Basically, the guy behind the prediction misunderstood some treehouse commentary about how Steam Gardens was in a glass dome, and thought every world would be in a snow globe.

Mario Kart World's roster problem is that they seemingly decided to put an arbitrary limit on how many random npcs they're adding. If they added as many Stage Hazards/onlookers that could fit in a kart as possible and spun it as a main feature of the game like "Drive virtually anywhere, be virtually anyone!" people might be kinder to it.
It'd look less "they're doing this because of constraints" and more "they're doing this because of the creative vision"
Sometimes I look back at Smash 4 speculation and I get really stuck on how people thought of fire emblem before much was known about the game specifically. When Ike was revealed to be returning people were like "well I guess we won't be getting a new fire emblem character, the tradition has always been Marth and a new guy"
Yknow, the tradition that only lasted 2 games.
Anyways, there were also wayyyy more people who just assumed Ike was a clone of Marth. Like, even though Brawl was 6 years ago. Weird stuff.
What bothers me about Mario Kart is that they're being very selective about what counts as returning from Tour and what's "new"
Characters and city tracks? Those are returning from tour.
Items and non-city based tracks? Oh those are new, completely new! What's a mario kart tour?
I'm not one of those people who thinks tracks like Ninja Hideaway was designed for 8DX and later put in tour btw, no. I 100% believe every new track in tour were designed for tour first and foremost.
What really gets me is Mario Kart World's marketing is treating the Mega Mushroom, from Wii as a brand new item for some reason.

When someone likes something I don't I'm like oh cool I'm glad you like that but when someone dislikes something I like I cry
Honestly I'd prefer if they gave Mario Maker 2 an upgrade pack instead of a full-on Maker 3
Mouse controls would fix like, the primary problem people had with the game, maybe add a switch 2 exclusive mode or game style to add a bit more value and honestly just use it as an excuse to put development on the game again and add more updates over another year.
Probably a pipe dream, but i think it'd be cool to give older switch games a second wind like that. The Booster Course Pass kinda did that a bit. Making the roster feel more well-rounded and adding some QoL/Balance changes. I wanna see what can be done to these games after a few years of retrospect.
I'd also settle for a free Mouse control update but I don't think new control schemes are part of the free updates some games are getting.

I'm Anton Ego when it comes to going to a movie theater but if Anton Ego didn't even step foot in a restaurant unless he knew the ratatouille was going to be amazing like a week in advance because he's paranoid of sitting in a theater when Alvin Chipmunk quotes a meme

I think there's a definite chance the crossworlds devs saw the Mario Kart World trailer and facepalmed because they didn't think of putting grind rails in a kart racer first

It's easy to forget because of how insane the roster is but I'm glad Nabbit is in Mario Kart World. He's playable in two mainline entries, he should be a higher priority in spinoff rosters and I'm glad he's here.
